An X1/Y2 safety capacitor for a Colombian electric bus has an automotive sheet that covers less than the commercial one. We compared 165 Walsin S2 part numbers with the S2-H printed range: 83 fall inside, 82 outside. The export cannot mark which are S2-H, and all 3 S2 lines on our 23 September 2026 shelf are inside.

This post is for a buyer or design engineer at a Colombian bus, charger or drive-electronics maker who has an X1/Y2 safety capacitor on a bill of materials and an automotive qualification requirement beside it. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source, the document date and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.
What is Bogota’s electric bus fleet, and what is coming?
It is large, and it is growing. The Bogota city government stated on 28 November 2025 that TransMilenio operates 1,486 electric buses, the second-largest urban electric fleet after China, with 705 more planned for 2026 and 2027, a Phase VI tender for 269 articulated and biarticulated electric buses, and 10 depots electrified with 58 MW of installed capacity. La Republica reported on 26 June 2025 that 364 new electric buses would arrive in 2026, taking the fleet to 1,850.
Neither page names a capacitor, a bus builder or a component supplier, and we draw no conclusion about which parts any Colombian company buys. The two fleet totals differ because the pages are five months apart and count different things. We have no relationship with the city government or La Republica.

How many Walsin S2 part numbers fall inside the S2-H range?
83 of 165. We parsed the MLCC export and found 165 distinct S2 X1/Y2 part numbers in 357 rows across three files. The S2-H sheet, dated May 2026, prints X7R only, 100 pF to 4,700 pF, in 1808, 1812, 2211 and 2220, at 250 Vac and 5,000 V impulse. Of the 165, 83 meet all of that: 25 at 2211, 22 at 2220, 20 at 1808 and 16 at 1812. The other 82 are 81 NP0 parts and one 10 nF X7R part.
The sheet’s ordering key ends with a termination letter, Y for AEC-Q200 plus soft termination or X for AEC-Q200 plus surface coating, then a packaging letter. Every S2 code in the export is 12 characters and stops at the impulse voltage, so 0 of 165 carry that letter. The export therefore cannot show which of the 83 Walsin offers as S2-H; the sheet is the only place that says. Our shelf list, 1,125 part numbers as at 23 September 2026, holds 3 S2 lines, and all 3 are inside the range. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

The two sheets differ in more than range. The commercial S2 sheet, dated April 2026, prints NP0 from 3 pF to 2,200 pF and X7R from 100 pF to 10 nF, with impulse levels of 5,000 V and 6,000 V. Four stocked or exported examples sit inside, and two sit outside. S242B102K502, S252B222K502 and S252B471K502 are on our shelf and inside the range; S242B103K502 is exported at 10 nF and sits above the sheet’s 4,700 pF ceiling. The last column is for your incumbent part.

Nothing. We converted all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, to text and searched them: bus, buses, vehicle, electric vehicle and charger appear in 0 of 28 files. The S2-H sheet lists modem, facsimile, telephone, and lighting or surge protection equipment as applications. We hold no qualification report for a bus or charger application, and no customer is named on this page or implied.
