Agricultural Drone Electronics for Australia from Hong Kong: Walsin’s Soft-Termination SH Series Reaches 4.7 Microfarad or More in 47 Rows, 40 Have a Plain-Termination Twin with the Same Value, Voltage and Tolerance, and Only 1 of the 47 Is on Our Shelf

Agricultural drone electronics for Australia face vibration and board flex, which is what soft termination is for. We counted the Walsin Technology (Walsin) SH series at 4.7 microfarad or more: 47 rows, 40 with a plain-termination twin of the same value, voltage and tolerance, and only 1 of the 47 on our Hong Kong shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a ready-stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or procurement engineer at an Australian drone maker, spray-service operator or agricultural-electronics workshop who has a power-board capacitor on a bill of materials and wants a second source in small lots from Hong Kong. Every Walsin part number is real, every count is ours, and the news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.

What does the August 2026 CASA beyond-visual-line-of-sight framework mean for a drone electronics buyer?

It means more flying hours per aircraft, and more repairs. AgNavigator reported on 18 August 2026 that DJI says Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority framework, Temporary Management Instruction 2025-03, lets eligible remote operator certificate holders obtain a broad area approval and then self-assess operating areas, cutting deployment timelines from months to days.

The article adds that DJI says regulation is no longer the main obstacle in agriculture, and names operator skills, difficult terrain and commercial models as the barriers. It gives no spraying hectare figures and no market size, and it names no component or electronics supplier, so we draw no link between it and any part number. Our view, labelled as ours: aircraft that fly routinely beyond sight are shaken and flexed daily, and the capacitor that survives a board bending matters more than the one that wins a datasheet comparison. We have no relationship with DJI, CASA or any Australian operator.

Which Walsin soft-termination capacitors reach 4.7 microfarad or more?

Forty-seven rows, in a series of 1,524. We parsed all 1,524 SH-series rows and found 47 at 4.7 microfarad or more: 1 in 0603, 6 in 0805, 17 in 1206, 18 in 1210 and 5 in 2220, 39 X7R and 8 X5R, from 6.3 V to 100 V. We have not seen this cell counted anywhere.

The SH series is Walsin’s Ag-poly soft-termination range, described in our post on soft termination MLCC SH, SG, ST and VT. The 1206 and 1210 sizes carry 35 of the 47, and 22 microfarad appears only in 1206 at 10 V, in 1210 at 10 V, 16 V and 25 V, and in 2220 at 50 V. The case-size trade is explained in decoupling at the package.

How do the candidates compare with a 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, 1206 soft-termination line?

One matches in every field; the rest change voltage, case, dielectric or termination. The table sets six rows against a 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, plus or minus 10%, soft-termination, 1206 line.

Walsin part Series, case Value, voltage, dielectric, tolerance On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch against the 25 V soft-termination 1206 line
SH31B475K250 SH soft termination, 1206 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, 10% No Match on every field
1206B475K250 General Purpose, 1206 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, 10% No Match on electrical fields; mismatch on termination, plain not soft
SH31B475K160 SH soft termination, 1206 4.7 microfarad, 16 V, X7R, 10% No Mismatch: voltage, 16 V against 25 V
SH31B475K500 SH soft termination, 1206 4.7 microfarad, 50 V, X7R, 10% Yes Mismatch: voltage, 50 V against 25 V; higher rating than the line
SH32B475K250 SH soft termination, 1210 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, 10% No Mismatch: case, 1210 against 1206, and 2.00 plus or minus 0.20 mm tall
SH31X475K250 SH soft termination, 1206 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X5R, 10% No Mismatch: dielectric, X5R against X7R

A higher voltage rating is not a free upgrade, since a higher-rated part can lose less capacitance under DC bias than a lower-rated one of the same value, but not always; whether that helps is a design decision, covered in MLCC DC bias and voltage derating.

How many of the 47 have a plain-termination twin, and how many of those are on the shelf?

Forty have a twin, and six of the twins are stocked. Of the 47 SH rows, 40 have a General Purpose row with the same case, value, voltage, dielectric and tolerance; the 7 without are 5 in 2220 and 2 at 10 microfarad, 100 V in 1210.

The 6 stocked twins are 1210B106K160, 1210B106K250, 1210B475K500, 0805B475K250, 0805B106K100 and 0805X106K250. The only stocked SH row, SH31B475K500, has an unstocked plain twin, 1206B475K500. A buyer who does not need soft termination therefore has a shelf line at 6 of the 40 values, and a buyer who does has one at 1 of 47. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and we quote part-number counts, never piece counts. Our post on how to check Walsin stock and reserve it explains how to read it.

What will we not tell you about drone electronics?

Anything about vibration life, a drone or a spray environment. We searched the text of all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, for drone, agricultural, outdoor and marine and found 0 matches; 28 of the 28 mention vibration, as a test condition or a handling note, not as a rating for an airframe.

We cannot say how many flex cycles a soft-termination part survives on your board, and we do not claim it. The mechanical limit, the board layout and the qualification stay with you, and our MLCC range lists the families. We hold no office, entity or stock in Australia; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team.

Why do buyers in Australia choose Venatech?

Because we show a Australian buyer the mismatches as well as the matches, and we can prove the rest: 28 Walsin datasheets held, 451 pages, and one named authorised line. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong; Walsin is our only authorised line, and Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We confirm nothing we cannot show.

Australian drone and agritech makers often build in short runs, and a small lot with a clear answer beats a pallet with a vague one. For a power-board capacitor:

  • We show you the twin. In the 47-row cell, 40 values have a plain-termination twin of the same value and voltage, and you can decide whether soft termination is worth the lead time.
  • We name the one on the shelf. Only SH31B475K500 is stocked, at 50 V, and we say so instead of implying the whole series is.

  • Hong Kong-based service, small lots welcome. A prototype or pilot quantity is a normal order for us, requested through the site.

  • Breadth you can count. Our Walsin extracts (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_MOV_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_DiscCap_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx and the chip-resistor, thin-film and RF files) hold 359,135 distinct part numbers, and the VenaMatch tool covers 800,000+ crossable parts.
  • Honest cross-referencing. Every candidate is shown with each field marked match or mismatch, so you see the gap before you lay out a board.
  • Checkable credentials. We are an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong, which you can confirm with Walsin. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the relevant one on request.

How can Venatech help a Australian buyer with a drone power-board bill of materials?

By showing the differences instead of hiding them, across 800,000+ crossable parts, in small lots. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.

  • Cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch.
  • BOM check. Upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file.
  • Ready stock. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, not live.
  • Service. Hong Kong-based, small lots, help with cross-referencing by hand when the tool returns no clean candidate, and a quote requested through the site.

Worked example from our own export: a 4.7 microfarad, 25 V, X7R, plus or minus 10%, soft-termination 1206 capacitor maps to SH31B475K250, to the plain-termination 1206B475K250 if you accept losing soft termination, to the shelf line SH31B475K500 if you accept 50 V, and to nothing exact on the shelf. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

The short version

For an Australian agricultural-drone buyer, Walsin’s soft-termination SH series reaches 4.7 microfarad or more in 47 rows; 40 have a plain-termination twin and only 1 of the 47, SH31B475K500, is on the Hong Kong shelf.

Paste one power-board capacitor into the free cross-reference tool, or upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated and the stock position named. If your drone has flown a season on plain termination, would you pay the lead time for soft?

Frequently asked questions

What did DJI say about Australian agricultural drone rules in August 2026?

AgNavigator reported on 18 August 2026 that DJI says CASA’s TMI 2025-03 framework allows broad area approval and self-assessed operating areas, cutting deployment from months to days, and that regulation is no longer the main obstacle. The article names no component.

How many Walsin soft-termination SH capacitors are 4.7 microfarad or more?

We counted 47 of 1,524 SH-series rows: 1 in 0603, 6 in 0805, 17 in 1206, 18 in 1210 and 5 in 2220, 39 X7R and 8 X5R. All 47 are distinct part numbers.

Do the SH rows have a plain-termination twin?

For 40 of the 47, yes: a General Purpose row with the same case, value, voltage, dielectric and tolerance. The 7 without are 5 in 2220 and 2 at 10 microfarad, 100 V in 1210.

Is any 4.7 microfarad soft-termination capacitor on the Hong Kong shelf?

One: SH31B475K500, 1206, 50 V, as at 23 September 2026. The 25 V version, SH31B475K250, is not stocked. The list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and each unstocked candidate is a quote requested through the site.

Can Venatech say a soft-termination part survives drone vibration?

No. None of the 28 datasheets we hold, 451 pages, mentions drones or agricultural use, and the vibration text is a test or handling condition. Flex life, layout and qualification stay with you, and we give no compliance advice.

Does Venatech have an office in Australia?

No. We hold no office, entity or stock in Australia. Venatech Limited is based in Hong Kong with locations in Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and Chengdu in preparation. We serve Australian buyers from Hong Kong in small lots.
