Power Adapter Capacitors for the Philippines from Hong Kong: Electronics Were 68.1 Percent of August 2026 Exports, and at 50 V and 10 µF Walsin Lists No X7R Part in 0805 or 1206, Only 4 X5R, While 7 X7R Parts Start at 1210

Power adapter capacitors for the Philippines, sourced from Hong Kong, hit a dielectric wall at the 50 V rung. In Walsin’s MLCC export, 10 µF at 50 V has no X7R part in 0805 or 1206: 4 X5R parts sit there, and 7 X7R parts start at 1210. Two of those 4 X5R lines are on our shelf; no X7R one is.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC parametric export, 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx: 24,026 rows, 23,601 distinct part numbers. This post is for a purchasing or design engineer at a Philippine maker of chargers, adapters or power supplies who has to fill a case size and voltage cell on a bill of materials. We name the sources of the two Philippine statements below and the day we fetched them (23 October 2026). Every part number is real and every count is ours.

What do the latest Philippine export figures say that touches a component buyer?

Electronics carried the whole month. The Philippine Statistics Authority’s preliminary August 2026 figures, as reported on 4 October 2026, put merchandise exports at 9.11 billion US dollars, up 27.8 percent on August 2025; electronic products were 6.20 billion, 68.1 percent of the total and 2.32 billion more than a year earlier. The semiconductor industry body SEIPI, quoted on 10 August 2026, expects 53 billion to 54 billion US dollars of electronics exports for 2026 against about 49.6 billion in 2025, with semiconductors about 70 percent of the total and Hong Kong the largest destination.

Neither report names a power adapter, a charger or a capacitor, and we draw no link to any company’s bill of materials. They tell a buyer one thing: volume is rising in a sector that buys passives by the reel. We do not know which of that volume is power conversion.

Where does Walsin’s 50 V rung stop by case size?

At 10 µF for most sizes, and the dielectric changes on the way. We parsed the General Purpose series of the export by case size, dielectric and voltage: at 25 V the X7R ceiling climbs from 1 µF at 0603 to 22 µF at 1210, at 50 V it is 1, 2.2, 4.7 and 10 µF over the same four sizes, and at 100 V it is 0.1, 0.47, 2.2 and 4.7 µF. The X5R column runs higher at 25 V and flatter at 50 V.

Case size X7R ceiling at 25 V X7R ceiling at 50 V X7R ceiling at 100 V X5R ceiling at 25 V X5R ceiling at 50 V Match / mismatch
0603 1 µF 1 µF 0.1 µF 10 µF 2.2 µF Reference row
0805 4.7 µF 2.2 µF 0.47 µF 22 µF 10 µF Mismatch: X7R at 50 V is 4.5 times lower than X5R
1206 10 µF 4.7 µF 2.2 µF 22 µF 10 µF Mismatch: X7R at 50 V is about 2 times lower than X5R
1210 22 µF 10 µF 4.7 µF 47 µF 10 µF Match: X7R reaches the X5R ceiling at 50 V

We have not seen this counted anywhere: across all 23,601 part numbers, 30 reach 10 µF at 50 V or more, and only 4 of the 30 sit at 0805 or 1206 (2 each, all X5R). The other 26 are 11 at 1210, 13 at 2220, and one each at 1812 and 2225.

Which worked part numbers show the X7R and X5R split at 10 µF and 50 V?

Five parts show it, and each differs from its neighbour on a named field. Take the stocked 0805 line 0805X106K500: X5R, 10 µF, plus or minus 10 percent, 50 V, thickness 1.25 mm. The first X7R part with the same value, tolerance and voltage is 1210B106K500, a different case size at 2.50 mm thick, which means a new footprint and a new height check. The last column is yours.

Walsin part Case, dielectric, value, voltage, tolerance Thickness as exported Match / mismatch Your incumbent
0805X106K500 0805, X5R, 10 µF, 50 V, ±10% 1.25 ± 0.20 mm Reference line, stocked as at 23 September 2026
1206X106K500 1206, X5R, 10 µF, 50 V, ±10% 1.60 +0.30/-0.10 mm Match on dielectric, value, voltage, tolerance; mismatch on case size
1210X106K500 1210, X5R, 10 µF, 50 V, ±10% 2.50 ± 0.30 mm Match on five fields; mismatch on case size and height
1210B106K500 1210, X7R, 10 µF, 50 V, ±10% 2.50 ± 0.30 mm Match on value, voltage, tolerance; mismatch on dielectric, case size and height
1206B475K500 1206, X7R, 4.7 µF, 50 V, ±10% 1.60 +0.30/-0.10 mm Mismatch: less than half the capacitance, but X7R at the 1206 footprint

The same logic holds one step down. X7R at 4.7 µF and 50 V exists at 1206 (6 parts across series) and above, and not at 0805, where the two 4.7 µF parts are X5R. Our post on DC bias and voltage derating explains why a dielectric letter is not a cosmetic field, and how to cross-reference an MLCC shows the field-by-field method.

What does the Hong Kong shelf hold at 50 V?

Eight lines at 1 µF or more, and none of them is X7R at 10 µF. Of the 864 MLCC lines in our 23 September 2026 stock list, 762 of which join to the export, 8 are rated 50 V at 1 µF or above: 1206B105J500, 0805X106K500, 1206X106K500, 1210B105K500, 1206B105K500, 1210B475K500, SH32B335K500 and SH31B475K500. Two are 10 µF and both are X5R. The shelf is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and we give no quantity or lead-time promise.

For a Philippine buyer that means a small-lot order for a 10 µF 50 V X7R specification starts from the export, not the shelf. Ask us which of the 7 X7R parts at 1210 your height budget allows.

What do our documents say about bias loss?

Nothing in the export. The MLCC export holds no DC-bias column, so it cannot tell you how much of 10 µF a 50 V part keeps at a 20 V output; of the 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, 26 are MLCC sheets indexed in INDEX_MLCC_series.csv, and we send the one covering your part number on request.

What will we not tell you about the Philippines?

Anything about import duty, customs, safety marking or approval for adapters sold there. We hold no office, entity or stock in the Philippines; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty rate, no transit time and no product-safety requirement. Confirm with your compliance team.

How Venatech helps

We start with the cross-reference. Paste your incumbent capacitor into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and shows Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload a bill of materials to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, and you can request a quote through the site. The tables above came from our own export; the MLCC range lists the series. ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 are not held by Venatech. Qualification stays with you.

The short version

For a Philippine adapter or charger line, the 50 V cell at 10 µF is where the case size decides the dielectric. Walsin lists X5R at 0805 and 1206 and X7R only from 1210, and the shelf holds the X5R ones only. We hold a bias curve for none of it in the export.

Send us one capacitor line from a charger output stage and we will return the Walsin parts with the differences stated. If your drawing says X7R and 0805 at 10 µF and 50 V, which of the two did you really mean?

What do the latest Philippine export figures say?

The Philippine Statistics Authority’s preliminary August 2026 data, reported on 4 October 2026, put merchandise exports at 9.11 billion US dollars, with electronics at 6.20 billion or 68.1 percent. Neither report names a charger, adapter or capacitor, so we draw no component conclusion.

Does Walsin list an X7R 10 µF 50 V part in 0805 or 1206?

No. We parsed all 23,601 distinct part numbers: X7R at 10 µF and 50 V appears at 1210 (7 parts in 4 series), 1812, 2220 and 2225, and not at 0805 or 1206. The 0805 and 1206 cells hold 2 X5R parts each. Check the dielectric before you check the voltage.

Which 50 V MLCC lines are on the Hong Kong shelf?

Eight lines at 1 µF or more as at 23 September 2026, including two 10 µF lines, 0805X106K500 and 1206X106K500, both X5R. None of the 12 X7R 10 µF 50 V part numbers in the export is on the shelf. The shelf is a snapshot, not live stock.

Is X5R acceptable in place of X7R on a charger output?

We do not say. The export has no DC-bias column, so a bias loss at your output voltage cannot be read from it. Take the bias curve from the Walsin datasheet for the exact part, compare it with your own derating rule, and qualify in your circuit.

What changes physically when the case size moves from 0805 to 1210?

Footprint and height. The stocked 0805X106K500 is listed at 1.25 mm thick; the 1210 parts are listed at 2.50 mm. A change of case size is a re-layout, so treat it as a design change and check the clearance.

Do you state Philippine import rules or safety approvals?

No. We hold no Philippine customs or product-approval content, and no office or stock there. We give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team. We supply parts, lot and date-code traceability and, on request, a certificate of conformity per shipment.
