Agricultural Machinery Electronics for Germany: A CAN Terminator Is One Stocked 120 Ohm Line, and 0 of 748 Split-Termination Resistor Part Numbers Near 60 Ohm Are on the Hong Kong Shelf

Agricultural machinery electronics for Germany start at the ends of the bus. A CAN-style node needs a 120 ohm terminator, and our shelf holds one such line, WR06X1200FTL. The split-termination alternative, two resistors near 60 ohm, covers 748 Walsin part numbers in the export and none on our shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, wrote this from the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor export (234,815 rows), the MLCC export (24,026 rows, 23,601 distinct part numbers) and our stock list as at 23 September 2026. It is for a design or sourcing engineer at a German tractor, implement or machine-control electronics maker. Every part number is real and every count is ours. The market statements name their source and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.

What did German agricultural machinery makers report for 2025?

Flat growth and a cautious 2026. Top agrar reported on 10 March 2026, citing VDMA Landtechnik, that German agricultural machinery and tractor makers reported 11.3 billion euro of sales at German production sites in 2025, about 2 percent more than in 2024, with exports of agricultural machinery to the United States down 28 percent.

Sales at German sites, 2025 11.3 billion euro, about 2 percent growth top agrar, 10 March 2026 Match for market context only
Tractors and harvesters Not yet back to growth top agrar, 10 March 2026 Match for context
Exports to the United States Down 28 percent in 2025 top agrar, 10 March 2026 Match for context
2026 outlook Customers cautious on machinery investment; lower producer prices slowing the recovery top agrar, 10 March 2026 Mismatch with any component claim: nothing at part level

The page names no resistor, shortage or supplier. We draw one conclusion, and it is ours: a recovery that depends on cautious buyers favours small, controlled bills of materials and short supply chains for the control units inside the machine. We have no relationship with VDMA or top agrar and no knowledge of what any German machinery company buys.

What do a CAN node’s terminating resistors ask of a chip resistor?

A value, a tolerance and a power rating, and one value is stocked. A common CAN-style bus design terminates each end with 120 ohm, either as one resistor or as two resistors of about 60 ohm with a capacitor to ground; we treat that as the brief and your design as the authority. We counted 507 export rows at 120 ohm (504 distinct part numbers) and 751 rows at 60.4, 61.9 and 62 ohm (748 distinct).

We parsed all 234,815 rows. As at 23 September 2026 our stock list holds 1 of the 504 distinct 120 ohm part numbers, WR06X1200FTL, plus the 121 ohm neighbour WR06X1210FTL, and 0 of the 748 near 60 ohm. We have not seen this counted anywhere. Of the 507 rows at 120 ohm, 185 are plus or minus 1 percent, 190 plus or minus 5 percent and the rest are tighter or looser.

Two cautions. The value is only half the cross: a terminator on a field machine sees heat, vibration and damp. The WR datasheet we hold is dated September 2016, and the automotive MR sheet is dated March 2024; both give a maximum operating voltage of 50 V at 0402 and 75 V at 0603. Our post on what resistor TCR actually buys you shows how to read the temperature field.

Which Walsin parts cross a 120 ohm terminator brief, and what differs?

One stocked line matches on every field. Take a 0603, 120 ohm, plus or minus 1 percent, one tenth of a watt brief: WR06X1200FTL matches on all four fields and is on our shelf, and five neighbours differ in value, size, power or series. The last column is for your incumbent.

Walsin part Value, tolerance, case, power, series Stock, 23 September 2026 Match / mismatch with the brief Your incumbent
WR06X1200FTL 120 ohm, 1%, 0603, 1/10 W, General Purpose Held Match on all four fields
WR06X1210FTL 121 ohm, 1%, 0603, 1/10 W, General Purpose Held Mismatch: value is one E96 step up, 0.8 percent
WR04X1200FTL 120 ohm, 1%, 0402, 1/16 W, General Purpose Not held Mismatch: smaller body, lower power
WR08X1200FTL 120 ohm, 1%, 0805, 1/8 W, General Purpose Not held Mismatch: larger body, higher power
MR06X1200FTL 120 ohm, 1%, 0603, 1/8 W, General Purpose (Automotive) Not held Match on value, tolerance, case; mismatch on power, 1/8 W, and series
WR06X60R4FTL 60.4 ohm, 1%, 0603, 1/10 W, General Purpose Not held Mismatch: one half of a split terminator, value halved

Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit. A split terminator needs two of the last row, so the shelf gap doubles the line count of an order.

Which Walsin capacitor suits a split-termination centre tap?

A 4.7 nF part is common, and two lines are stocked. The export holds 43 rows (42 distinct part numbers) at 4.7 nF, 50 V, X7R; our shelf holds 2, 0603B472K500 and 0805B472K500, and the export carries 18 rows in automotive series: 9 MT, 6 MG and 3 ST. None of the 18 is on the shelf.

The MT and ST series are named by Walsin as qualified to AEC-Q200, which we describe as compliant, never certified; the MG series is named as without AEC-Q200 certification. We state no more than the series names. Our post on MLCC DC bias and voltage derating covers the capacitance loss under bias, which is small at a few volts on a CAN centre tap.

Walsin part Case, series Stock Match / mismatch with a 4.7 nF, 50 V, X7R, 10% brief Your incumbent

The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and the chip resistor range lists the families.

What do Walsin’s documents say about farm machinery?

Nothing directly. We converted all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, to text and searched them: agricultural, tractor, farm, harvest and livestock appear in 0 of 28 files, industrial equipment in 2, and ammonia or hydrogen sulfide in 26. The 26 are storage and handling cautions, so we read the match as general, not as a statement about a barn.

What can a Hong Kong distributor not tell a German machinery maker?

Anything about German or European machinery, road or emissions rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Germany; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty, customs position, transit time or carrier, and we give no legal, customs or compliance advice; confirm with your compliance team. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949, and we make no claim that any Walsin part is approved for agricultural use.

How Venatech helps

Paste your incumbent terminator or capacitor into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a control-unit bill of materials into the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a snapshot dated 23 September 2026.

Worked example from our own export: the 120 ohm filter returned 507 rows and 504 distinct part numbers, and our shelf covers 1 of them. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and a quote is requested through the site. We hold lot and date-code traceability, a certificate of conformity per shipment on request and original sealed Walsin packaging; the MLCC range lists the capacitor families. The 28 datasheets, 451 pages, are sent on request.

The short version

For a German machinery maker, the two ends of a CAN-style bus use one stocked 120 ohm line and none of 748 split-termination part numbers, while a 4.7 nF centre-tap capacitor has 2 stocked lines and none in an automotive series. The value cross is trivial; the stock position and the field environment are not.

Send us one control unit’s terminator and centre-tap capacitor and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated. If your bus uses split termination, can you live with a 62 ohm pair instead of 60.4?
