Sourcing Resistors for Argentina’s Solar and Farm Electronics from Hong Kong: 810 MW of Solar Was Added in 2025, and 132 of Our 249 Stocked Resistor Lines Have a Walsin High-Voltage Series Twin on All Five Fields, but None Is on Our Shelf

A high-voltage chip resistor for Argentina’s solar and farm electronics starts as a swap from a general-purpose line. We joined 249 stocked Walsin single-resistor lines to the high-voltage series on five fields: 132 have a twin, 8 nearly match, 109 have none. No high-voltage series part is on our 23 September 2026 shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor parametric exports and a dated stock list. This post is for a buyer or design engineer at an Argentine solar, inverter, irrigation or farm-machinery electronics maker who has a general-purpose resistor on a bill of materials and wants to know whether a high-voltage part of the same value exists. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source, the document date and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.

What did Argentina’s solar and crop data show in 2025 and 2026?

Solar grew fast, and the crop calendar is large. pv magazine reported on 24 February 2026, citing the market operator CAMMESA, that Argentina added around 810 MW of solar in 2025, against 307 MW in 2024, taking installed solar to 2,483 MW. Separately, a Spanish agricultural news site reported on 8 June 2026, citing the Buenos Aires grain exchange, that wheat sowing for 2026/27 had reached 32.4 percent of a projected 6,500,000 hectares.

Neither page names a resistor, an inverter maker or a component supplier, and we draw no conclusion about which parts any Argentine company buys. We have no relationship with CAMMESA, pv magazine or the exchange.

How many stocked resistor lines have a high-voltage series twin?

132 of 249. We parsed every chip resistor export file, 234,815 rows and 234,401 distinct part numbers once embedded spaces are removed, and joined our 249 stocked single-resistor lines, arrays excluded, to the plain Thick Film High Voltage Chip Resistor series, 10,437 rows, on size, resistance, tolerance, temperature coefficient and rated power. 132 lines have a twin there: 101 at plus or minus 1 percent and 31 at plus or minus 5 percent.

By case size the twin is concentrated in the middle. The high-voltage series starts at 0603, so the 4 stocked 0201 lines and 80 stocked 0402 lines have none by construction. At 0603, 90 of 100 stocked lines have a twin; at 0805, 21 of 30; at 1206, 20 of 33; at 2512, 1 of 2. All 132 are in the general-purpose WR family or its 100 ppm variant, none in a power or surge series. Our shelf list, 1,125 part numbers as at 23 September 2026, holds 0 lines in the high-voltage series. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

Case size Stocked lines With a high-voltage twin Match / mismatch
0201 4 0 Mismatch: the series has no 0201
0402 80 0 Mismatch: the series has no 0402
0603 100 90 Match on all five fields
0805 30 21 Match on all five fields
1206 33 20 Match on all five fields
2512 2 1 Match on all five fields

A worked pair: the stocked WR06X47R0FTL, a 0603 47 ohm plus or minus 1 percent line at 1/10 W, has the high-voltage row WF06V47R0FTL with the same five fields. The export has no working-voltage column, so the two rows look identical in a spreadsheet and differ in the datasheet. That is the point: the five fields do not say what the high-voltage series adds, and we are not stating it here.

Our post on high-voltage chip resistors and the limit nobody checks covers the working-voltage ceiling. The chip resistor range lists the series.

Where does the twin stop, and which eight lines nearly match?

109 lines have no size, resistance and tolerance match at all, and 8 match on those three fields but fail on temperature coefficient or rated power. The 8 near misses are the useful ones: each is a swap that looks right on a screen and is wrong on one field. The last column is for your incumbent part.

Stocked line Nearest high-voltage row Match / mismatch Your incumbent
WR06X47R0FTL WF06V47R0FTL Match on size, resistance, tolerance, TCR and power
WR12X470JTL WF12V470JTL Mismatch: TCR 100 ppm against 200 ppm
WR06X470JTL WK06V470JTL Mismatch: TCR 100 ppm against 200 ppm
WR08X750JTL WK08V750JTL Mismatch: TCR 100 ppm against 200 ppm
WR06X103JTR WK06V103JTL Mismatch: TCR 200 ppm against 100 ppm
MF12E2200FTL WF12V2200FTL Mismatch: rated power 3/4 W against 1/4 W
MF12P3303FTL WF12V3303FTL Mismatch: rated power 1/2 W against 1/4 W

The two power mismatches run the unwelcome way for a swap: the high-voltage row is rated lower than the stocked part. Moving to it cuts the power rating of the position, and only your circuit can say whether that is acceptable.

What do Walsin’s documents say about solar and farm equipment?

Nothing. We converted all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, to text and searched them: solar, photovoltaic, agriculture, farm, tractor and irrigation appear in 0 of 28 files. Of the 28, 2 cover resistors, the WR general-purpose and MR automotive sheets, and neither covers the high-voltage series. We hold no qualification report for a solar or farm application, and no customer is named on this page or implied.

Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size shows why the power column matters when you move between series.

What will we not tell you about Argentina?

Anything about Argentine import duties, the electronics regime or solar procurement rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Argentina; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or compliance advice and state no duty rate, transit time or carrier; confirm with your compliance team. We make no statement about which equipment any Argentine company builds.

How Venatech helps

Start with the cross-reference. Paste a resistor line into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, so a temperature coefficient or power gap shows before you order. Or upload a list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, and you can request a quote through the site. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. The tables above came from our own exports. Qualification stays with you.

The short version

For an Argentine solar or farm-electronics buyer, a high-voltage resistor is often a series change, not a new value. 132 of 249 stocked lines have a twin on all five fields, 8 fail on one, and 0 high-voltage parts are on our shelf.

Paste a resistor line from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin high-voltage candidates with the temperature coefficient and power gaps marked. Which line on your board is carrying the most voltage?
