Panasonic ERJ to Walsin Cross-Reference for Vietnam: Pasting the ERJ Size Digit Into a Walsin Part Number Gets 0 of 9 Sizes Right, 6 Land on a Real but Wrong Body, and the 1812 Has No Walsin Row

A Panasonic ERJ to Walsin Technology (Walsin) cross-reference fails first on the size digit. Of nine ERJ size fields, pasting the digit into a Walsin number gets 0 right: 6 land on a real but wrong Walsin body and 3 on no size code at all. ERJ-12, a 1812, has no Walsin row in the chip resistor export.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin chip resistor export of 234,815 rows, 234,401 of them distinct part numbers once embedded spaces are removed, and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a procurement or design engineer at a Vietnamese electronics maker whose bill of materials names a Panasonic ERJ resistor. Every Walsin part number is real and every count is ours. Statements from the press and from Panasonic’s catalogue name their source and the day we read it, 23 October 2026.

What do Vietnam’s electronics export figures tell a resistor buyer?

That electronics are now the largest export group. VnEconomy reported on 28 July 2026 that exports of computers, electronic products and components were 71.16 billion US dollars in the first half of 2026, 26.7% of total export turnover and up 49.1% on a year earlier, with phones and components adding 31.69 billion US dollars, up 17.8%. The article says the two groups together account for more than 60% of the 46.33 billion US dollar rise in Vietnam’s merchandise exports.

We draw one conclusion, and it is ours: a buyer on a line growing at that rate is asked for second sources on commodity parts, and chip resistors are the commonest line item. We have no information on any maker’s Panasonic volumes and say nothing about Panasonic’s supply.

How do you read a Panasonic ERJ part number, field by field?

In six fields. Panasonic Industry’s fixed resistors catalogue, dated 2026.5, prints the worked example ERJ-8ENF1002V and explains the general purpose example ERJ3GEYJ102V as: ERJ, a size character, a two-letter product code, an optional value-marking letter, a tolerance letter, a resistance code and a packaging letter. In ERJ-8ENF1002V the 4th character, 8, is the size, which we read as 1206 from the catalogue’s size table.

Panasonic field In ERJ-8ENF1002V Walsin field in WR12X1002FTL Match / mismatch
Series ERJ WR Match in function (thick film chip resistor)
Size 8 (1206) 12 Match on body; the code differs
Product code EN X Mismatch: Panasonic’s code selects a series, Walsin’s letter a temperature coefficient
Tolerance F (plus or minus 1%) F Match
Resistance 1002 (10 kohm) 1002 Match
Packaging V (4 mm pitch punched carrier, 5,000 pieces) TL Mismatch or unknown: the export prints 7 inch reel taping with no quantity

ERJ-8ENF1002V is not in the export, as it is a Panasonic number. Panasonic’s resistance code is 3 digits for E24 and 4 digits for E96 and precision parts; Walsin follows the same split, with a trailing blank for plus or minus 5%. See our post on why Walsin part numbers do not paste into your BOM.

What happens when the ERJ size digit is pasted into a Walsin number?

It picks a different body or nothing. Panasonic’s catalogue lists nine size fields for the general purpose family (1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 14, 12, 12Z and 1T); we checked each against the ten two-digit size codes of the Walsin general purpose series (01, 02, 04, 06, 08, 10, 12, 18, 20 and 25) in the export, and the digit alone is right for 0 of the 9.

Six land on a real Walsin size that is the wrong body, and three land on no size code. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

ERJ size field ERJ body Digit pasted as a Walsin code What that Walsin code means Match / mismatch
1 0201 01 01005 Mismatch: smaller body, real parts
2 0402 02 0201 Mismatch: smaller body, real parts
3 0603 03 no such code Mismatch: nothing found
6 0805 06 0603 Mismatch: smaller body, real parts
8 1206 08 0805 Mismatch: smaller body, real parts
14 1210 14 no such code Mismatch: nothing found
12 1812 12 1206 Mismatch: a different, real body
12Z 2010 12 1206 Mismatch: a different, real body
1T 2512 1T no such code Mismatch: nothing found

The failure that costs money is the six that return real parts. A WR06X1002FTL is a valid Walsin 10 kilohm resistor, so it passes a part-number check, and it is a 0603 where the ERJ-6 line wanted a 0805. Our post on imperial and metric case sizes explains the translation.

Which Walsin part answers each ERJ size at 10 kilohm and 1%?

One part per size, in the general purpose series. We took each Walsin figure from the export for 10 kilohm, plus or minus 1%, the general purpose series. Seven of the eight sizes that have a Walsin body match Panasonic’s rated power; the 0402 does not.

ERJ size Panasonic body, power Walsin part, rating On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch
1 0201, 0.05 W WR02X1002FAL, 1/20 W Yes Match on body and power. Mismatch or open: temperature coefficient up to plus or minus 200 ppm
2 0402, 0.1 W WR04X1002FTL, 1/16 W No Mismatch: lower power. MR04X1002FTL is 1/10 W, automotive
3 0603, 0.1 W WR06X1002FTL, 1/10 W Yes Match on body and power
6 0805, 0.125 W WR08X1002FTL, 1/8 W Yes Match on body and power
8 1206, 0.25 W WR12X1002FTL, 1/4 W No Match on body and power
14 1210, 0.5 W WR10X1002FTL, 1/2 W No Match on body and power
12Z 2010, 0.75 W WR20X1002FTL, 3/4 W No Match on body and power
1T 2512, 1 W WR25X1002FTL, 1 W No Match on body and power
12 1812, 0.75 W none n/a No Walsin row: see below

The export prints a temperature coefficient bound for each part, up to plus or minus 100 ppm for every row above except the 0201, which is up to plus or minus 200 ppm. Compare it against your Panasonic datasheet; we hold no Panasonic specification. Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size covers the standard figures.

Three of the eight Walsin parts in the table, WR02X1002FAL, WR06X1002FTL and WR08X1002FTL, are on our stock list as at 23 September 2026. We hold the Walsin WR general purpose chip resistor datasheet and the MR automotive sheet as PDF files, and send them on request. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced.

What does the 1812 ERJ-12 have no answer for?

A same-body Walsin part. The Walsin chip resistor export has 0 rows with an 1812 size among its 234,815, while the general purpose series alone covers ten other sizes. Panasonic’s ERJ-12 is 4.50 x 3.20 mm at 0.75 W.

The nearest Walsin bodies are the 2010 at 3/4 W (WR20X1002FTL) and the 1218 at 1 W (WR18X1002FTL). Both are different footprints from a 1812, so a swap there is a board change and a qualification event, not a cross-reference. We state the gap rather than guess a candidate.

What will we not tell you about a Panasonic part?

Whether it is available, changing or constrained. We hold no Panasonic affected-part list, we make no statement about any Panasonic part number, and we hold no price or lead-time information on it. The catalogue carries a status column for some series; read it for your exact part, because we do not. Panasonic words qualification for specific series and Walsin’s MR sheet says compliant; ask for the qualification report for the exact part number.

We hold no ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certificate. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or compliance advice; confirm with your compliance team.

How Venatech helps

Paste your ERJ number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file, to run every line at once. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, and our chip resistor range lists the families.

Worked example from our own export: the 10 kilohm, 1% table above returned one general purpose part for each of eight sizes, three of them on the shelf, and no row for the 1812. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, cross-reference your lines on request, and a quote is requested through the site.

The short version

For a Vietnamese buyer holding a Panasonic ERJ number, six fields map onto Walsin’s, but the size digit never carries over: 0 of 9 are right, 6 give a real but wrong body, and the 1812 has no Walsin row. Seven of eight bodies that do exist match on power.

Send us one ERJ line from your BOM, or paste it into the cross-reference tool, and we will return the Walsin candidates with size, power and temperature coefficient differences stated. Qualification stays with you; which ERJ size do you run most?

Frequently asked questions

How do I read a Panasonic ERJ part number?

ERJ-8ENF1002V is ERJ, size 8 (1206), product code EN, tolerance F (plus or minus 1%), resistance 1002 (10 kohm) and packaging V, per the Panasonic catalogue dated 2026.5. Confirm every field against the Panasonic datasheet for your exact part.

Can I paste the ERJ size digit into a Walsin part number?

No. Of nine ERJ size fields, the digit alone is right for none: six land on a real Walsin size that is the wrong body and three land on no size code. Use the body, such as 1206, and read the Walsin two-digit code from the table above.

Which Walsin part crosses an ERJ-8ENF1002V?

WR12X1002FTL matches on body (1206), tolerance, resistance and power (1/4 W against 0.25 W) and is not on our shelf as at 23 September 2026. Product code and packaging stay open. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

Does Walsin make a 1812 chip resistor?

Not in the export we hold: 0 of 234,815 rows have an 1812 size. The nearest bodies are the 2010 and the 1218, which are different footprints, so a swap is a board change. We state the gap rather than guess a candidate.

Do you say anything about Panasonic availability or lead times?

No. We hold no Panasonic affected-part list and make no statement about any Panasonic part number. We hold no price or lead-time guarantee on any part. The qualification decision, and any approval of a substitute, stay with you and your compliance team.

How do I start a Panasonic cross-reference with Venatech?

Paste the ERJ number into the free cross-reference tool, or upload a BOM of up to 500 lines. You see Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Request a quote through the site; we serve from Hong Kong in small lots.
