Solar Module Electronics for Egypt From Hong Kong: A 220 pF 50 V 0603 C0G Line Has 18 Walsin Part Numbers in 7 Series, All at One Thickness, and 50 V Is the Busiest of Its 7 Voltage Rungs

A 220 pF, 50 V, 0603 C0G (NPO) line gives an Egypt buyer 18 Walsin part numbers in 7 series, all at one thickness, 0.80 plus or minus 0.07 mm. Fifty volts is the busiest of 7 voltage rungs for this value, with 18 of 53 parts, and 1 of the 18 is on our Hong Kong list.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC parametric export: 24,026 rows, 23,601 distinct part numbers. This post is for a procurement or design engineer at an Egypt maker of solar modules, inverters or monitoring boards who needs a second source for a small C0G capacitor in the 0603 case. Every Walsin part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source, the date of the page and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.

What did Egypt open in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in January 2026?

A solar manufacturing complex. Daily News Egypt reported on 11 January 2026 that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the Elite Solar complex in Sokhna, with a 2 GW solar cell and electronic board facility and a 3 GW module facility, an investment of 116 million US dollars, local content of 50 percent and 70 Egyptian engineers employed. Ecofin Agency added on 13 January 2026 that the 78,000 square metre site began construction on 16 December 2024 and that Egypt targets 42 percent renewables in its electricity mix by 2030.

Neither article names a capacitor, a volume or a supplier. We draw no conclusion about which parts any Egyptian company buys, and we have no relationship with Elite Solar or the zone authority.

Which Walsin 0603 parts carry 220 pF at 50 V?

Eighteen. We filtered the MLCC export to size 0603, NPO dielectric, 220 pF and 50 Vdc: 18 distinct part numbers in 7 series, and 1 of them, 0603N221J500, is on our Hong Kong list as at 23 September 2026. The last column is for your incumbent part.

Walsin part Series as exported Tolerance Stocked Match / mismatch Your incumbent
0603N221F500 General Purpose plus or minus 1% No Match on size, value, voltage, thickness
0603N221G500 General Purpose plus or minus 2% No Match on size, value, voltage, thickness
0603N221J500 General Purpose plus or minus 5% Yes Match on size, value, voltage, thickness
0603N221K500 General Purpose plus or minus 10% No Match on size, value, voltage, thickness
HH18N221J500 High Q and Low ESR (HH) plus or minus 5% No Match on size, value, voltage; mismatch on series
HH18N221K500 High Q and Low ESR (HH) plus or minus 10% No Match on size, value, voltage; mismatch on series
RF18N221J500 Microwave (RF) plus or minus 5% No Match on size, value, voltage; mismatch on series
MT18N221J500 Automotive, AEC-Q200 (MT) plus or minus 5% No Match on size, value, voltage; mismatch on series and grade
MG18N221J500 Automotive without AEC-Q200 (MG) printed as -0.05 No Mismatch: the tolerance column is not a tolerance; read the letter J
SG18N221J500 Soft termination SG (Cu-poly) plus or minus 5% No Match on value, voltage, thickness; mismatch on termination
SH18N221J500 Soft termination SH (Ag-poly) plus or minus 5% No Match on value, voltage, thickness; mismatch on termination

The other seven are HH18N221F500, HH18N221G500, RF18N221F500, MT18N221F500, MT18N221G500, SH18N221G500 and SH18N221K500. All 18 print a thickness of 0.80 plus or minus 0.07 mm, so, unlike some neighbouring lines, a swap between these series does not move the height.

Which voltage rung is the busiest for 220 pF in 0603?

Fifty volts, by a wide margin. We counted 220 pF NPO parts in the 0603 case by rated voltage: 10 V has 3, 16 V has 5, 25 V has 6, 50 V has 18, 100 V has 11, and 200 V and 250 V have 5 each, 53 in all. That makes 50 V 34 percent of the case.

Rated voltage 220 pF NPO parts in 0603 Match / mismatch with a 50 V requirement
10 V, 16 V, 25 V 3, 5, 6 Mismatch: below the 50 V rung; derating rules apply
50 V 18 Match: the line in this post
100 V 11 Match on value; a higher rating, same size
200 V, 250 V 5 and 5 Match on value; a higher rating, same size

Across every size, the 220 pF NPO value has 272 distinct part numbers in 13 sizes. At 50 V the shelf holds one 220 pF line in 0402, one in 0603 and two in 0805, with none in 1206. If your design allows a higher voltage rung, there are 21 more candidates in 0603 at 100 to 250 V, but none is on our list.

Is every 220 pF 0603 part a plain C0G part?

No. We counted by series name: 4 General Purpose, 4 HH, 3 SH, 3 MT, 2 RF, 1 MG and 1 SG, and the MG part’s tolerance column prints -0.05 instead of plus or minus 5 percent. Soft termination exists at 220 pF in two series, and the SH rows alone offer 2, 5 and 10 percent.

If your module board bends in the test fixture or in the field, the soft-termination rows are the ones to look at. Our post on soft termination MLCC, SH, SG, ST and VT explains what the termination changes, and our post on tolerance, TCR and dielectric codes decoded covers the letters.

What will we not tell you about Egypt?

Anything about Egyptian regulation, customs, local-content rules or product conformity. We hold no office, entity or stock in Egypt; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty, border procedure, transit time or carrier, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.

We also do not say that any part here suits a photovoltaic module, an inverter or a desert climate. The Walsin sheets list operating temperature and test conditions, not field suitability, and we hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949 for Venatech.

Why do buyers in Egypt choose Venatech?

Because we put the whole line on one page and say what is on the shelf. For this one 220 pF line we list all 18 candidates, name the 7 series, show that all 18 share one thickness, and mark the 1 that is on our Hong Kong list, as at 23 September 2026. You can check each statement against Walsin’s own export.

How can Venatech help an Egypt solar electronics maker?

Start with the cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload a list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. Request a quote through the site. Our post on how to cross-reference an MLCC shows the field order.

A worked example from our own export: a 220 pF, plus or minus 5 percent, 50 V, 0603 NPO line maps to 0603N221J500, on our list; the soft-termination candidate is SH18N221J500, not on it, at the same 0.80 mm thickness. Our MLCC range lists the families. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. Qualification stays with you.

The short version

A 220 pF 50 V 0603 NPO line is 18 Walsin part numbers in 7 series, all at 0.80 plus or minus 0.07 mm, 1 on our list. At 50 V the case holds 18 of its 53 parts for this value, against 11 at 100 V and 6 at 25 V. Soft termination exists in SG and SH.

Send us one 0603 NPO number from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin parts with every difference stated. Is your voltage rung a requirement of the circuit, or only a habit carried over from an older design?
