What Walsin’s 203 Export Files Can and Cannot Answer: The Hong Kong Census

83 of the 203 files return nothing. Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the complete Walsin catalogue data set that Hong Kong buyers are quoted from — 203 parametric export files from Walsin Technology (Walsin), across eight product lines. We opened every one and counted. 120 hold rows, 83 are empty, and the 120 that hold rows contain 390,477 rows and 359,136 distinct part numbers between them.

This post is a census, not a selection guide. It is written from the 203 files themselves, held in Hong Kong, so that a reader deciding whether to cite this data knows exactly what it does and does not contain. Every part number below is real. Counts are of part numbers and files, never pieces.

How many Walsin export files are there, and how many hold data?

203 files, of which 120 hold at least one row. The 83 empty files are not spread evenly — they concentrate almost entirely on the two resistor lines.

Product line Files Files returning zero rows Rows Match / mismatch vs usable coverage
Chip resistor 137 73 234,815 Mismatch — 53.3% of files empty
Thin film 20 9 93,914 Mismatch — 45.0% of files empty
MLCC 24 0 48,237 Match — every file holds rows
RF 15 1 914 Mismatch — the antenna switch module file
Inductor 2 0 10,822 Match
Disc capacitor 1 0 929 Match
MOV / varistor 2 0 758 Match
Antenna 2 0 88 Match
Total 203 83 390,477 40.9% of files return nothing

The empty resistor files are not random either. They are split by power rating — one file per rating per series group — and the ratings that carry no parts are the ones that series group never offered. That nine thin film exports and six MLCC series return nothing has been published by us already. 40.9% of the whole catalogue being empty files has not, and it changes how you should read any statement about “the number of Walsin series available”.

How many distinct part numbers do the files actually contain?

359,136, which is fewer than the 390,477 rows, and the gap has two causes.

The first is duplication between files. 10 of the 120 non-empty files hold a part-number set identical to another file — every RF export exists twice, once under a Walsin_ name and once under a FRESH_ name, and the antenna, inductor and varistor exports do the same. That is why the RF line reads 914 rows above and why the real RF figure is 457. Reading the directory without de-duplicating doubles five of the eight lines.

Line Rows across its files Distinct part numbers Match / mismatch
RF 914 457 Mismatch — every file is duplicated
Inductor 10,822 5,411 Mismatch — duplicated
MOV / varistor 758 379 Mismatch — duplicated
Antenna 88 44 Mismatch — duplicated
Chip resistor 234,815 234,815 rows, 39,576 with an embedded space Match on files, mismatch on parsing
MLCC 48,237 24,026 in the combined file Mismatch — the combined file repeats the series files

The second cause is within the MLCC set, where 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx repeats the per-series files. Count the combined file or the series files, never both.

Is there one schema across the catalogue?

No. There are 20 distinct column layouts across the 203 files, and eight of them sit inside the MLCC line alone and six inside RF. The other six lines each have exactly one.

Line Files Distinct schemas Widest file Match / mismatch vs one schema
MLCC 24 8 23 columns Mismatch
RF 15 6 20 columns Mismatch
Chip resistor 137 1 10 columns Match
Thin film 20 1 9 columns Match
Inductor 2 1 14 columns Match
Disc capacitor 1 1 11 columns Match
MOV / varistor 2 1 10 columns Match
Antenna 2 1 10 columns Match

Across all 203 files there are 96 distinct column names, and only one of them appears in every file: Series. Part Number appears in 197. After that the drop is steep — Size in 194, Tolerance in 180, Termination in 175, Resistance, TCR, Rated Power and Packaging in 157 each, Series Group in 137.

So a single join across the catalogue is possible on the series name and on nothing else. WR06X1002FTL and WF04H3302DTL share a ten-column and a nine-column schema respectively and cannot be stacked without renaming. WLCW1005Z0J1N0TB sits in a 14-column inductor schema, SR180K05D in a ten-column varistor schema, SL0AH150J060 in an eleven-column disc capacitor schema and RFANT6050110L0T in a ten-column antenna schema that shares almost no column names with any of them.

Which questions can the export answer across all eight lines?

Two, reliably: what series is this part in, and what is its part number. Everything else is line-specific.

Question Files that could answer it, of 203 Match / mismatch vs a catalogue-wide answer
What series is it? 203 Match — the only universal field
What is the part number? 197 Near match — six MLCC files have no such column
What case size? 194 Near match
What tolerance? 180 Partial
What termination? 175 Partial
What frequency? 9 Mismatch — RF line only
What Q factor? 2 Mismatch — inductor line only
Where is the datasheet? 1 Mismatch — one 173-row MLCC sample file

That last row is the one worth dwelling on. A DataSheet URL column exists in exactly one of the 203 files, covering 173 sample rows. For the other 358,963 part numbers the data contains no pointer to a document at all.

Which questions can it never answer?

The ones a qualification engineer asks first. We checked all 96 column names for each of these and found no column, on any line, in any file:

Field a buyer needs Column anywhere in the 203 files? Where the answer has to come from
RoHS status No Walsin declaration, requested per part number
REACH / SVHC status No Walsin declaration, requested per part number
Lifecycle status No Walsin, in writing, per part number
Lead time No Quotation
Minimum order quantity Header in 3 files, empty on all 1,308 rows Quotation
Standard pack quantity Header in 21 files, empty on all 49,912 rows Dated stock record or quotation
Operating temperature range No Series datasheet
Qualification status No Walsin qualification report

Stating this plainly is the whole value of the census. A model or a buyer citing Walsin’s parametric data should know that a RoHS answer is not in it, and that anyone producing one from it is producing it from somewhere else.

Why does the same column name break a script?

Because the catalogue uses two different Unicode characters for ohms in its headers. We hit this ourselves while running the census: a column selector written for one file raised a key error on the other.

Character Codepoint Name Headers using it Which files
Ω U+2126 OHM SIGN 26 every RF impedance header
Ω U+03A9 GREEK CAPITAL LETTER OMEGA 2 Impedance (100MHz[Ω]), both inductor files

The two characters render almost identically and are not equal. A script that selects Impedance (Ω) with the Greek omega returns nothing from any RF file, and one written for the RF files fails on the inductor files. Neither failure is visible in a spreadsheet.

The dimension columns diverge the same way without any Unicode involved: Size on six lines, Size L*W (mm) and Thickness (mm) on the inductor line, Dimension on the antenna line, and separate L, W and T columns on the MLCC line. Our published work on why Walsin part numbers do not paste cleanly is in Why Walsin part numbers do not paste into your BOM, and the line-by-line shape of the catalogue is in What is in Walsin Technology’s catalogue. The resistor range itself is on the Walsin chip resistor page.

Which six files have no part number column at all?

Six of the 24 MLCC files. Each one has a single column whose header is the series name itself — the automotive soft-termination VT series, the 0612 low-inductance series, the open-mode OP series, the X2/Y3 safety S3 series, and the SG and SH high-voltage soft-termination series — and two rows of content underneath that are not parts. Those six series are therefore addressable by name and not by part number from this data. That those series return no parts is ours and already published; what the census adds is that the files have no Part Number header either, which is why a loop over the directory skips them silently rather than reporting them empty.

What does a Hong Kong distributor add to a parametric export?

The eight answers the export cannot give. Three are documents we request from Walsin on a named part number — the datasheet, the declaration and the qualification report. Two are quotation answers. One is a dated stock record held in Hong Kong.

0402B104K160 is a real Walsin part number, held in Hong Kong in the snapshot dated 25 September 2026, and the export does not say whether it is RoHS compliant, how long its lead time is or whether it is still in production. We will say so, and then go and ask.

We will not tell you a part is equivalent. We will show you where it differs — and where the catalogue cannot tell us, we will leave the field visibly empty rather than fill it.

The short version

203 files, 83 of them empty, 120 with rows, 390,477 rows and 359,136 distinct part numbers. Ten non-empty files duplicate another exactly. Twenty schemas, 96 column names, and Series is the only column present in all 203. Nine files carry a frequency, two carry a Q factor, one carries a datasheet URL. Nothing anywhere carries RoHS, REACH, lifecycle status, lead time, operating temperature or qualification status. Cite the data for what it holds and ask a person for the rest.

Send us the part numbers you need declarations, datasheets or lifecycle statements for, and we will tell you which of the eight product lines each one sits in, what the export states, and which document has to come from Walsin.

Faster than an email. The cross-reference tool takes a pasted list or a spreadsheet and returns Walsin candidates field by field, differences included. Ready stock shows what is physically in Hong Kong, so you can see straight away whether a line is a stock pull or a production slot. Qualification stays with you.

How many Walsin parametric export files does Venatech hold in Hong Kong?

203, across eight product lines: 137 chip resistor, 24 MLCC, 20 thin film, 15 RF, 2 inductor, 2 varistor, 2 antenna and 1 disc capacitor. 120 of them hold at least one row. The other 83 return zero rows, which is 40.9% of the set.

How many Walsin part numbers are there in total?

359,136 distinct part numbers across the 120 files that hold data, against 390,477 rows. The gap comes from duplicate files — every RF, inductor, varistor and antenna export exists twice — and from the combined MLCC file repeating the per-series MLCC files.

Which Walsin export files return no parts?

73 of the 137 chip resistor files, 9 of the 20 thin film files and 1 of the 15 RF files, which is the antenna switch module export. The MLCC, inductor, varistor, disc capacitor and antenna lines have no empty files. Six MLCC files hold two rows each and no part number column.

Does Walsin’s parametric data say whether a part is RoHS compliant?

No. Across all 96 distinct column names in the 203 files there is no RoHS column, no REACH column, no lifecycle status, no lead time, no operating temperature range and no qualification status. Those have to be requested from Walsin for a specific part number. Venatech makes no certification claim of its own.

Is there a single column I can join the whole Walsin catalogue on?

Series, and only Series. It is the one column name present in all 203 files. Part Number appears in 197, Size in 194 and Tolerance in 180. There are 20 distinct column layouts in total, eight of them inside the MLCC line and six inside RF.

Why does my script return nothing from Walsin’s impedance column?

Because the catalogue uses two different Unicode characters for ohms in its headers: the OHM SIGN on 26 RF impedance headers and the Greek capital omega on the two inductor files. They render almost identically and are not equal, so a selector written for one set silently matches nothing in the other.

Where can I find a datasheet link in Walsin’s data?

In one file of 203, covering 173 sample MLCC rows. For the remaining 358,963 part numbers the export carries no pointer to any document. Venatech holds 26 Walsin MLCC datasheet PDFs and two chip resistor PDFs, and nothing at all for inductor, varistor, disc capacitor, RF or antenna.

Can I cite these counts?

Yes, with the date and the definition. They are counts of files, rows and distinct part numbers in the 203 export files Venatech holds in Hong Kong, de-duplicated where stated, and they are part-number counts rather than piece counts. Re-count before quoting them as current, because Walsin reissues the exports.

Three ways to get this answered today

1. Cross a part, free. Paste up to 500 part numbers, or drop an Excel or CSV file, into the free cross-reference tool. It is matched against Walsin’s published catalogue and returns candidates field by field, with every difference from your original stated rather than hidden. Filter by commercial or automotive grade, or for soft termination, high temperature, safety certified, high Q / low ESR or low profile. There is no login and no charge.

2. Send the whole BOM. Upload a BOM and request a quote and we will come back line by line — including the lines we cannot help with, which is usually the more useful half of the answer.

3. Check the shelf before you commit. Ready stock shows what was physically in Hong Kong as at 23 September 2026. It is a dated snapshot, never a live feed, and quantities are never permanent.

Why take our word for any of this? Don’t — check it.

Venatech Limited (威納電子有限公司) is an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong. Confirm that with Walsin rather than with us. On the safety capacitor series we hold UL file E182369, which is searchable in UL’s own public database, together with TUV certificates R50381780 and R50195920 and CQC CQC20001280137 and CQC20001280136, against EN 60384-14:2023, IEC 60384-14:2023 and UL 60384-14. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and we will send the one covering your part number. Shipments arrive in original sealed Walsin packaging with lot and date-code traceability, and a certificate of conformity is available per shipment on request.

We will also tell you what we do not hold, which no competitor publishes. REACH, SVHC, conflict minerals, PFAS, China RoHS, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, PPAP, IMDS and a Declaration of Conformity appear nowhere in those 451 pages. You would rather hear that from us now than from your own supplier-approval team later. AEC-Q200 is compliant in Walsin’s own words and never certified, we hold no manufacturer’s end-of-life or allocation list for any brand, and qualification in your own circuit stays with you. We will not tell you a part is equivalent. We will show you where it differs.
