Walsin MLCC Datasheet URLs: 168 of 23,601 Part Numbers Carry One

A Walsin MLCC datasheet URL exists on only 168 of Walsin Technology’s 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers. We opened the one Walsin export file that carries a DataSheet URL column at all — 173 sample rows, not the full catalogue — and counted the filled cells ourselves. Every other MLCC export file, all 24,026 rows of it, has no such column.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds every parametric export Walsin Technology (Walsin) publishes for MLCC, plus 26 Walsin MLCC datasheets. This post is measured from two files we opened side by side: 00_ALL_MLCC_combined.xlsx (173 rows, the only MLCC file with a DataSheet URL column) and 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx (24,026 rows, 23,601 distinct part numbers, the catalogue everyone actually searches). Every part number below is real and came out of one of those two files, and we say which.

How many Walsin MLCC part numbers carry their own datasheet URL?

One hundred and sixty-eight. We counted the filled cells in the DataSheet URL column of 00_ALL_MLCC_combined.xlsx: 168 of 173 sample rows, 97.1%. Walsin ID, ECD URL and all seven dimensional and electrical fields are complete on all 173 rows. The gap sits in exactly one column.

Field in 00_ALL_MLCC_combined.xlsx Rows filled Share
Part Number, Series, Size, Dielectric, Capacitance, Tolerance, Rated Voltage, L/W/T 173 / 173 100%
Walsin ID 173 / 173 100%
ECD URL 173 / 173 100%
Symbol 173 / 173 100%
DataSheet URL 168 / 173 97.1%
IR, DF 18 / 173 10.4%
TCC, DC Bias 25, Packing, SPQ, Thickness (bare column) 0 / 173 0%

We have not seen this file counted anywhere. It is a sample, not the catalogue: 173 rows across exactly 16 series, 11 example part numbers per series except Feed Thru (FT), where all 8 of Walsin’s FT part numbers are included. We confirmed that by joining all 173 part numbers against 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx — every one of them exists there too.

What do the 168 datasheet-linked rows actually have in common?

They share a series, not a part number. We grouped the 168 filled URLs and found exactly 16 distinct URLs, one per series, each pointing at a Walsin PDF on passivecomponent.com — the same 16 PDFs listed in our own INDEX_MLCC_series.csv. A row’s datasheet link is decided by which of the 16 series it belongs to, not by anything about that specific part.

That matters for what you can conclude from the figure. “168 part numbers have a datasheet” sounds like 168 parts were individually documented and the rest were not. What we actually measured is 16 series documented, sampled onto 173 rows, with the sample itself falling 5 rows short of complete tagging.

Why do two of the sixteen series fall short within their own sample?

Only two. Automotive Soft term Caps Qualified to AEC-Q200 (ST series) carries the URL on 9 of its 11 sample rows and Safety Certificated Caps X1/Y2_(S2 series) carries it on 8 of its 11. The other 14 series, including the 8-row Feed Thru sample, are complete.

Part number Series DataSheet URL present? Match / mismatch vs “every row in its series carries the series PDF”
ST18B473K500 ST (soft term, AEC-Q200) Yes Match
ST21B104K500 ST (soft term, AEC-Q200) No Mismatch — same series, same PDF exists, cell is blank
ST21B103K500 ST (soft term, AEC-Q200) No Mismatch — same series, same PDF exists, cell is blank
S242B101K502 S2 (safety certified X1/Y2) Yes Match
S242N100J502 S2 (safety certified X1/Y2) No Mismatch — same series, same PDF exists, cell is blank
S242N100K502 S2 (safety certified X1/Y2) No Mismatch — same series, same PDF exists, cell is blank
S242N330J502 S2 (safety certified X1/Y2) No Mismatch — same series, same PDF exists, cell is blank

We will not tell you those five rows are undocumented. We will show you where the row differs from its own siblings: the identical PDF URL sits on ST18B473K500 and S242B101K502, so the datasheet exists and is correctly known for both series — the cell is simply unfilled on five of the other eighteen rows in those two series. A tagging gap, not a missing document.

Does the full 24,026-row MLCC export carry a datasheet column at all?

No. We opened 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx column by column — 16 fields, Part Number through Symbol — and confirmed there is no DataSheet URL field anywhere in it. The 23,601 distinct part numbers a buyer actually searches against carry no per-part datasheet link in any form.

So the 168-row figure is not a subset of a bigger documented population; it is the entire population that has ever carried this field, inside a 173-row sample file that most buyers never see. Every datasheet claim made about any of the other 23,433 part numbers has to come from the series name, not the part number.

What should a buyer conclude about the other 23,433 part numbers?

That datasheet coverage in Walsin’s own export is a series-level fact, not a part-level one, and the 23,433 figure (23,601 minus 168) is not a count of undocumented parts. We matched the 16 series present in the 24,026-row export against INDEX_MLCC_series.csv and all 16 have a corresponding PDF we hold. A part missing the DataSheet URL cell is not a part missing a datasheet — it is a row where the export never carried the link in the first place, which is true of every one of the other 23,433.

The practical move is to look the series up by name, not to search the export for a link that was only ever sampled onto 173 rows. If you give us a part number, we can tell you which of the 16 documented series it sits in and send the PDF — that lookup is what a per-part column would have saved you, and right now it has to be done by hand.

Which six MLCC series have a datasheet and zero rows to link it to?

Six: VT, S3, RT, RH, Mega Cap M and Mega Cap V. We checked — the 24,026-row export holds exactly 16 distinct series, and those six are not among them, which we confirmed by listing every series string in the file ourselves. Walsin’s datasheet index covers all of them; the parametric export covers none. This is the opposite gap from the one above: there, a documented series is missing its URL on some sample rows; here, a documented series has no rows to attach a URL to at all. Between the two, 22 named MLCC series exist in Walsin’s documentation and the cross-reference tool can currently search 16 of them.

The short version

A Walsin MLCC datasheet URL is a series-level fact wearing a part-level column. All 173 rows of the one export file that carries the field resolve to 16 distinct URLs; 168 rows have the cell filled and five — all in the ST and S2 series — do not, despite the identical PDF sitting on their own siblings. The other 23,433 of Walsin’s 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers were never going to carry this field at all, because no other export file has the column. We have not seen that distinction made anywhere else.

Send us the part numbers on your BOM and we will tell you which of Walsin’s 16 documented, searchable MLCC series each one sits in, PDF attached — and we will say plainly if a part number sits in one of the six series we hold a datasheet for but cannot yet search. For the decoding method, see How to read a Walsin MLCC part number; for the shape of the whole catalogue, see What is actually in Walsin’s catalogue. The full range is on the Walsin MLCC page. How many Walsin MLCC part numbers have a datasheet URL in the export?

168 of 173 rows in the one file that carries the field, 00_ALL_MLCC_combined.xlsx. We counted the filled cells ourselves. Those 168 resolve to 16 distinct URLs, one per series, so the figure describes 16 documented series rather than 168 individually documented parts.

Why doesn’t Walsin’s main MLCC export have a datasheet link column?

Because it is a different file built for a different purpose. We opened all 16 columns of 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, the 24,026-row export most searches run against, and confirmed none of them is a datasheet field. The link only exists in a separate 173-row sample file.

Does a missing DataSheet URL cell mean a part has no datasheet?

No. We traced every missing cell to the ST or S2 series, both of which carry the correct PDF URL on other sample rows in the same series. The gap is in the cell, not in Walsin’s documentation. Confirm the series name and request the PDF rather than reading an empty cell as “undocumented.”

Which MLCC series are missing from Walsin’s parametric export entirely?

Six: VT, S3, RT, RH, Mega Cap M and Mega Cap V. We listed all distinct series strings in the 24,026-row export ourselves and none of the six appeared. Walsin’s own datasheet index covers all six, so documentation exists where searchable part data does not.

How many MLCC series does Walsin’s cross-reference tool currently cover?

16 of 22 named series. The 16 are the ones present in the parametric export; the other six have a datasheet on file but no exported part numbers, so the free cross-reference tool cannot offer candidates from them yet.

What should I do if my incumbent part doesn’t match any of the 16 searchable series?

Send us the part number and we will check it against our datasheet index by hand. If it falls in one of the six undocumented-in-export series, we will tell you plainly rather than force a match from a series the tool cannot search.
