The passive component data gap is bigger inside our own catalogue than any one family admits. We checked all 359,135 of our distinct part numbers against the 28 datasheets we hold. 272,777 of them — 75.95% — have no datasheet at all, and six whole product lines have zero.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, writes this from a direct comparison: Walsin Technology (Walsin)’s 28 datasheets, 451 pages, against all eight parametric export families we hold, 359,135 distinct part numbers. We opened the datasheet folders ourselves rather than assume coverage from a product-line name. Every count below is checkable, and every part number is real.
What share of our part numbers have no datasheet at all?
75.95%. We compared 359,135 distinct part numbers across all eight families against the 28 PDFs we hold and found 272,777 with no datasheet of any kind — not a wrong datasheet, not an old one, none.
| Family | Distinct part numbers | Datasheets held | Covered | Uncovered |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MLCC | 23,601 | 24, across 16 exported series | 23,601 (100%) | 0 |
| Chip resistor | 234,401 | 2 (MR automotive, WR general purpose) | 62,757 (26.8%) | 171,644 (73.2%) |
| Thin film | 93,914 | 0 | 0 | 93,914 (100%) |
| Inductor | 5,410 | 0 | 0 | 5,410 (100%) |
| Disc / safety capacitor | 929 | 0 | 0 | 929 (100%) |
| RF | 457 | 0 | 0 | 457 (100%) |
| MOV / varistor | 379 | 0 | 0 | 379 (100%) |
| Antenna | 44 | 0 | 0 | 44 (100%) |
| Total | 359,135 | 28 | 86,358 (24.05%) | 272,777 (75.95%) |
We have not seen this counted anywhere at this resolution — not “which families have zero,” which is already known internally, but the exact share across every part number we hold, including the chip resistor family that does have two datasheets and still leaves most of its own range uncovered.
Which product lines have zero datasheet coverage, full stop?
Six of eight. Thin film (93,914 part numbers), inductor (5,410), disc / safety capacitor (929), RF (457), MOV / varistor (379) and antenna (44) — 101,133 part numbers in total — have no datasheet in our library at all. We checked this the plain way: _Walsin_Datasheets/ on our own file system holds exactly two subfolders, MLCC/ and Resistor/. There is no ThinFilm/, Inductor/, DiscCap/, RF/, MOV/ or Antenna/ folder to even be incomplete.
That is not six gaps in the same place. It is six different product lines a customer might ask us to cross — a varistor like SR180K05D on a mains input stage, a chip antenna like RFANT6050110L0T, a multilayer inductor like WLCW1005Z0J1N0TB, a safety disc capacitor like SL0AH150J060 — where the honest answer to “send me the datasheet” is that we do not have one to send, only Walsin’s own public site to point to.

Is the MLCC line fully covered, and how do we know?
Yes, fully, and we checked it the same way as everything else. All 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers sit in one of 16 series, and each of those 16 series names a datasheet we hold — General Purpose, Middle and High Voltage, Microwave RF, the MT and MG automotive series, HH, SH, SG, ST, TT, S2, HT and FT among them. Six further MLCC datasheets exist — VT, S3, RT, RH, Mega Cap M, Mega Cap V — with zero rows in our parametric export, which is the opposite gap: documentation with no matching part numbers to sell against it yet.
So MLCC is the one family on our list with no part-level gap at all, and it is worth saying plainly why that matters here: it proves the gap in the other seven families is not a universal feature of how Walsin documents its catalogue. It is specific to which lines we hold paper for.
Does holding two chip resistor datasheets cover the whole resistor range?
No. We hold Walsin_MR_Automotive_Thick_Film_Chip_Resistor.pdf and Walsin_WR_General_Purpose_Chip_Resistor.pdf, and their cover pages name the MR and WR part-number prefixes specifically. Of 234,401 distinct chip resistor part numbers, 62,757 (26.8%) carry one of those two prefixes; the remaining 171,644 (73.2%) — prefixes WF, WK, MF, SR, WW, SF, WA, MK, SA, MA and WT, covering high-precision, anti-surge, high-power, wide-terminal, trimmable, current-sense, array and attenuator resistors — have no datasheet at all.
How did we check this ourselves rather than assume it?
By reading every export file and matching it against what the datasheet folders actually contain, not by trusting a family label. Two things surfaced during that check that change the arithmetic. First, the RF family’s own files are doubled: seven FRESH_rf_*.xlsx files and seven Walsin_*.xlsx files hold 914 total rows but only 457 distinct part numbers — the two sets mirror each other exactly, and we de-duplicated before counting. Second, the inductor export carries one QA test row, Test123999, which we excluded, leaving 5,410 real inductor part numbers rather than the raw 5,411.
Both corrections push the honest total down rather than up, which is the direction we would rather be wrong in. We parsed all eight families ourselves — 234,815 raw chip resistor rows across 137 files, 24,026 MLCC rows, and the smaller inductor, MOV, disc, RF and antenna exports — and the 359,135 distinct-part-number total is what survives after every duplicate and test row is removed.
What do we do when a customer asks us to cross a part on an undocumented line?
We say so, request the datasheet from Walsin, and still return candidates from the export, with the gap stated rather than hidden. The free cross reference tool matches against Walsin’s published catalogue regardless of whether we hold a PDF for the line — a thin film or inductor cross still returns real part numbers, because the parametric export exists independently of the datasheet library. What changes is what we can confirm beyond the exported fields: no operating temperature range, no qualification status, no RoHS or REACH statement for those six undocumented families, because none of that exists in our 451 pages either.
Our standing practice is to cite the export we used, flag the specification claims we cannot back with a PDF, and add the missing datasheet to our request list with Walsin — never to describe it as already requested until it is.
What should a buyer in Sweden expect when crossing a part with no datasheet?
The same candidates, with the gap stated up front rather than discovered later. A sourcing engineer in Sweden crossing a MOV for a mains surge stage, or an inductor for a buck converter, gets the same 75.95%-uncovered catalogue we describe above — the gap is a property of our documentation library, not of any one market. What we can hand over today: the exported part number, its parametric fields, and Walsin’s own site for the specification sheet where we hold none ourselves. What is physically in Hong Kong is a separate question, answered by ready stock, a dated snapshot as at 23 September 2026.
For how we document the fields we do hold, see What Walsin’s 203 export files can and cannot answer. For the documentation picture behind an approval submission, see AVL submission documentation: what we hold. The thin film range, one of the six undocumented lines, sits on the thin film page.
The short version
We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, against 359,135 distinct part numbers across eight product families, and 272,777 of them (75.95%) have no datasheet at all. MLCC is fully covered; chip resistor is 26.8% covered by prefix; thin film, inductor, disc capacitor, RF, MOV and antenna have zero, confirmed by the plain fact that no folder for any of those six exists in our datasheet library.
We will tell you what we do not have. Cross the part anyway through the free cross reference tool, and we will tell you plainly which fields the candidate carries and which specification claims we cannot back with a PDF — rather than letting a six-line gap in our documentation turn into a confident-sounding guess.

What share of Venatech’s part numbers have no datasheet at all?
75.95% — 272,777 of 359,135 distinct part numbers across all eight families we export. MLCC is fully covered by 16 series’ worth of datasheets; chip resistor is 26.8% covered by the WR and MR part-number prefixes; thin film, inductor, disc capacitor, RF, MOV and antenna have zero datasheet coverage of any kind.
Which product lines have no Walsin datasheet at all?
Six: thin film (93,914 part numbers), inductor (5,410), disc / safety capacitor (929), RF (457), MOV / varistor (379) and antenna (44), totalling 101,133 part numbers. Our datasheet library holds only an MLCC/ and a Resistor/ subfolder — there is no folder for any of the other six to be incomplete in.
Does holding a chip resistor datasheet mean the whole resistor range is documented?
No. The two resistor datasheets we hold name the MR and WR part-number prefixes on their cover pages, covering 62,757 of 234,401 distinct chip resistor part numbers, 26.8%. The remaining 73.2%, across eleven other prefixes, has no datasheet.
Can you still cross a part on a line with no datasheet?
Yes. The free cross reference tool matches against Walsin’s published parametric catalogue, which exists independently of the datasheet library, so a thin film or inductor cross still returns real candidates. What we cannot do is confirm operating temperature, qualification status or a RoHS statement beyond what the export itself states, because none of that exists in our 451 pages for those lines.
Why is the MLCC line fully covered when so much else is not?
Because all 23,601 MLCC part numbers sit inside 16 series, and each of those 16 has a named Walsin datasheet in our library. Six further MLCC datasheets exist for series with zero rows in our export — the opposite gap, paper without parts, rather than parts without paper.
Is 75.95% the final word on the data gap?
It is our best count today and we flag where it could move. We have not yet opened every page of the two resistor datasheets to confirm every WR- and MR-prefixed variant is tabulated inside them, only that the prefix matches the cover page. If that check narrows the covered share further, 75.95% is a floor, not a ceiling.
Does Venatech have an office in Sweden?
No. Venatech Limited operates from Hong Kong, with Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and a Chengdu location in preparation. A buyer in Sweden works from the same free cross reference tool, the same datasheet library and the same dated Hong Kong stock snapshot as any other market.
