Passive components for Saudi Arabia from Hong Kong now serve a country where HP began making computers in October 2025 and Lenovo plans large-scale production in Riyadh in late 2026. Dense boards need 0201 parts on both sides. We counted our shelf: 99 of 2,544 Walsin 0201 MLCC are held, but only 4 of 17,827 0201 resistors.

This playbook is for a Saudi electronics assembler, or a supplier to one, who wants to know what a Hong Kong source can and cannot put in writing. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Each statement about Saudi Arabia names its source and the day we fetched it, 21 October 2026.
What does a Saudi electronics assembler need from a Hong Kong distributor?
Both halves of a dense board, not one. Arab News Pakistan reported on 2 September 2026 that Lenovo expects large-scale production at its Riyadh plant, about 200,000 square metres, in late 2026, making laptops, desktops, servers and smartphones on one site. A board that small needs capacitors and resistors in the same case sizes.
We make no claim about any Saudi maker’s bill of materials and name none. What we can offer is a Hong Kong ready-stock list, a free cross-reference tool and a straight answer on what is on the shelf. What have HP and Lenovo said about Saudi production?
Three dated things, and none names a component. SAMI Advanced Electronics Company launched its Remal computer manufacturing project with HP and Foxconn in a release dated 12 October 2025; TechSpot reported on 25 October 2025 that HP production in Riyadh began that month; and Arab News Pakistan reported Lenovo’s late-2026 start on 2 September 2026. Our view, labelled as ours: none of these sources says a Saudi maker is short of any part, and we imply none. Local assembly raises the number of boards built near the buyer, which is a context for second sourcing and not a forecast of demand.
Where is the Hong Kong shelf thinnest for dense boards?
At 0201 resistors, by a wide margin. We parsed all 24,026 rows of the Walsin MLCC export (23,601 distinct parts) and all 137 chip resistor files (234,401 distinct parts) and counted by case size. At 0201 our 23 September 2026 shelf holds 99 of 2,544 MLCC part numbers (3.9%) but 4 of 17,827 resistor part numbers (0.02%).
The MLCC share is flat across the small sizes: 3.8% at 0402, 3.3% at 0603, 3.9% at 0201. The resistor share is 0.20% at 0402 and 0.18% at 0603, then falls to 0.02% at 0201, nine times lower. The shelf holds 2.8 MLCC lines for every resistor line at 0402 and 24.8 at 0201. We have not seen this counted anywhere. Resistors are 7.0 times more numerous than MLCC at 0201 in the Walsin lists and a twenty-fifth of the shelf.

Which Walsin 0201 and 01005 parts cross, and where do they differ?
A 0201 pair is possible; a 01005 pair is not from our shelf. We hold 0201B103K6R3 and 0201B103K100, two X7R 10 nF parts that differ only in rated voltage, and two 0201 resistors, WR02X1002FAL at 10 kilohm and WR02X4700FAL at 470 ohm, both 1% at 1/20 W. The 01005 parts exist in the export and are not held.

Is 0201B103K6R3 a match for 0201B103K100?
Not on every field. Both are 0201, X7R, 10 nF and plus or minus 10%, but the first is rated 6.3 V and the second 10 V. Rated voltage is the one field that differs. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
