Defence electronics for Lithuania run on traceable bills of materials, and a single space breaks the trace. We joined our 254 stocked chip resistor lines to Walsin’s export of 234,815 rows: 183 match exactly, 66 match only after a space is removed from the export key, and 5 match under no spelling.

This post is for a design engineer or buyer at a Lithuanian maker of defence electronics, such as radar, interceptor-drone or communications equipment, or at its contract manufacturer. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. It makes no claim for any military use of any part.
What does Lithuania’s 2027 defence funding mean for a component buyer?
More programmes, each with a bill of materials someone must trace. LRT (16 October 2026) reports that the 2027 budget proposal allots over 4.8 billion euros to defence, about 5% of projected GDP, with more than 896 million euros for the State Defence Fund. We read it on 22 October 2026.
LRT adds that the figure is higher than this year in euro terms by a margin LRT puts at nearly thirty-five million euros, while 2026 reached 5.38% of GDP, a larger share of a smaller economy. Defense News (14 October 2026) reports that Lithuania has fast-tracked purchases of interceptor drones and radars, and that allied jets shot down a drone over Lithuania on 15 September. It also reports that Latvia and Lithuania are not pursuing fighter jets.
Our view, labelled as ours: a programme that scales fast scales its part-number lookups too, and a lookup that fails on 26% of one distributor’s resistor lines wastes an engineer’s day. The sources do not say that.
Why does a stocked Walsin resistor code miss an exact match in the export?
Because the export writes the key with a space and the stock code does not. We counted the chip resistor export: 39,576 of 234,815 rows, 39,162 distinct part numbers, contain a space, and in every one of our 66 stocked cases it sits after the eighth character. The stock code WR04X101JTL is the export key WR04X101 JTL.
An exact-match lookup, a spreadsheet VLOOKUP or a database join on the stock code returns nothing. A human reading both sees the same part. We took the 254 chip resistor lines in our stock list as at 23 September 2026, joined each to the export on the exact string, then again after removing all whitespace and upper-casing both sides. We have not seen this counted anywhere: 183 of 254 stocked lines join exactly, 66 join only after the space is removed, and 5 do not join under either spelling. Which stocked codes join only after the space is removed?
Sixty-six General Purpose lines, all in the WR family. They split by case: 25 at 0402, 22 at 0603, 11 at 1206, 7 at 0805 and 1 at 2512. Sixty-four are the Thick Film General Purpose series and 2 are its LF 100 ppm variant.
The table shows the effect on four real parts, with a clean control. Only the key differs; the electrical fields agree.

WR08X103JTL shows the same spelling in the export, as WR08X103 JTL, and is not on our stock list. Whether a space-free code is a different part is a fair question for a defence buyer, and the answer is no: the tail of the code, the tolerance letter and the packaging suffix, is unchanged. The match is by position and field, and you should still confirm it against the Walsin ordering key.
Which 5 stocked codes join under no spelling?
Four resistor codes and one odd code. After removing whitespace and upper-casing, 5 of 254 stocked codes still find no export row: WF06Q7502FTL, WF06U5363BTL, WF08R1203BTL, WR12X0000FTL and one varistor-style code. The three WF codes are thin film, and the export holds 93,914 thin film rows in files we read separately.
We cannot say why those five do not join, and we do not guess. They may be spelled differently in the export, absent from it, or in a file that returns zero rows; 83 of the 203 export files return zero rows, by our earlier count. We hold no Walsin statement on it. The practical rule is ours: for any stocked code, test both spellings, and for the five, ask us. We will not call a part verified because a lookup found it, or unverified because it did not.
What do we hold in stock, and what do we not claim?
A dated list and no defence claim. We checked our stock list as at 23 September 2026, 1,125 part numbers: 254 are chip resistors, and 183 of them (72%) join the export on the exact code. The 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, never use the word defence.
The word military appears in 1 of the 28, the MR automotive thick film sheet, which calls the series “Automotive & Military Compliant” on page one. That is Walsin’s wording, we reproduce no test, and Venatech makes no military-compliance claim of its own. Request the qualification evidence for your exact part number from Walsin. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold no ISO 9001, no IATF 16949 and no defence-specific certification, and we say so plainly. The stock list is a snapshot and moves; the ready stock page shows what is held in Hong Kong now.
