Passive components for Oman automation and solar work carry one reassuring count from our shelf: all 236 stocked general-purpose chip resistor lines have an anti-sulfuration twin, on size, value, tolerance and power, in Walsin’s list. The twin is not the same part, and rated power is where it breaks.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor exports (137 files, 234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers) and a dated stock list. This post is for a buyer or design engineer at an Omani automation integrator, panel builder or solar contractor who wants a resistor line that is marketed for sulfur-bearing air. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. The statements about Oman name their sources and the day we read them, 23 October 2026.
What has Oman said about its next solar projects?
It plans six large solar plants for the next decade. AGBI reported in January 2026 that Nama PWP plans six solar projects of about 6 GW in total, online across 2030 and 2031, which would lift Oman’s renewable capacity to 12,182 MW and free domestic gas for industry. We read the page in full.
The same report says capacities may change after site allocation and resource studies, and it describes a pipeline of 24 solar and wind projects plus one waste-to-energy scheme. A second page, Solar Quarter, repeats the six-plant plan. Neither page prints the day of publication, so we cite the month from the AGBI address and treat the dates as unconfirmed.
Our view, labelled as ours: gas freed for industry is the link to automation, because gas processing and chemical plants run control cabinets. Whether a given cabinet sits in sulfur-bearing air is a site question the sources do not address.
How many stocked resistor lines have an anti-sulfuration twin?
All of them. We parsed all 137 chip resistor files, found the 236 general-purpose lines on our stock list as at 23 September 2026, and searched Walsin’s two single-resistor anti-sulfuration series for a part with the same case size, resistance, tolerance and rated power: all 236 have at least one twin, 234 in the WR series and 153 in the SR series.
| Walsin anti-sulfuration series | Part numbers listed | Stocked lines with a twin on size, value, tolerance and power |
|---|---|---|
| General Purpose Anti-Sulfuration (Automotive), WR prefix with a V or Z suffix | 10,659 | 234 of 236 |
| High Grade Anti-Sulfuration (Automotive), SR prefix | 12,871 | 153 of 236 |
| Either series | 23,530 | 236 of 236 |
| Either series, with the TCR limit also equal | 23,530 | 231 of 236 |
None of the twins is on the shelf. We hold no anti-sulfuration chip resistor: of the 41,147 part numbers in the anti-sulfuration series and groups, the stock list holds none, so a twin is a factory order. We have not seen this counted anywhere. Our post on tolerance, TCR and dielectric codes decoded explains the TCR notation.
The stock list is a dated snapshot and moves. The ready-stock page shows the Hong Kong list as it stands, and the chip resistor range lists the families.
Why does the SR series match fewer lines than the WR series?
Because its rated power is higher at two case sizes. When we ignored rated power, the SR series matched 232 of the 236 lines instead of 153; 78 of the 79 lines added are 0402, where the SR series is rated 1/10 W against 1/16 W for the held part. The other added line is an 0805 whose value the SR series lists only at a different rated power.
Power is the field that changes. The WR anti-sulfuration series follows the held general-purpose ratings at every size it covers: 1/20 W at 0201, 1/16 W at 0402, 1/10 W at 0603, 1/8 W at 0805 and 1/4 W at 1206. It does not list a 2512 part, so our two held 2512 lines have no WR twin. The SR series lists 2512 at 1 W and 2010 at 3/4 W, but nothing at 0201.
| Case size | Held general-purpose lines | WR anti-sulfuration twin | SR anti-sulfuration twin |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0201 | 4 | 4 | 0 (size not listed) |
| 0402 | 78 | 78 | 0 (1/10 W, not 1/16 W) |
| 0603 | 100 | 100 | 100 |
| 0805 | 26 | 26 | 25 |
| 1206 | 26 | 26 | 26 |
| 2512 | 2 | 0 (size not listed) | 2 |
| Total | 236 | 234 | 153 |
A higher rated power is not a disadvantage on its own, but it can change the footprint’s derating, so it is a mismatch to be read and not ignored. Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size explains why.
Which parts cross, and where do they differ?
Fill the incumbent column from your own part. We hold WR06X2212FTL, an 0603 22.1 kilohm part at 1/10 W; its twins WR06X2212FTLV and SR06X2212FTL match on all five fields we compared, but at 0402 the SR twin of the held WR04X2200FTL is rated 1/10 W against 1/16 W.

A Match is a statement about the fields shown and nothing more. All the anti-sulfuration series in the export are labelled automotive, and we make no claim about their qualification or their performance in any atmosphere. We hold two chip resistor datasheets, for the MR and WR general-purpose series, and none for the SR series, so confirm every specification with Walsin. Qualify in your own circuit.
What will we not tell you about Oman import?
Anything operational. We state no duty rate, tariff code, customs procedure, conformity-mark requirement, local-content rule, transit time, freight cost or carrier for Oman, and we hold no office, entity or stock there. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. Your forwarder, customs broker and compliance team own that side, and we give no legal advice. We hold no ISO 9001 certificate and make no qualification claim for any part.
How Venatech helps
Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM to run every line, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026 and is never live-synced.
Worked example from our own export: the twin counts above join the chip resistor files to the stock list on size, resistance, tolerance and rated power. If your cabinet uses a 22.1 kilohm 0603 resistor, WR06X2212FTL is the line to test first, and WR06X2212FTLV is the anti-sulfuration candidate to ask about. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, we help with cross-referencing, and quotes are requested through the site. The 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, we hold are sent on request.
The short version
Oman plans about 6 GW of new solar for 2030 and 2031, and no source names a resistor. The number a buyer can use is ours: all 236 stocked general-purpose lines have an anti-sulfuration twin on four fields, 234 in the WR series and 153 in the SR series, and the gap between them is rated power at 0402 and 0805. None of the twins is on the shelf.
Send us the resistor lines on your control cabinet bill of materials, or paste them into the tool, and we will return the Walsin parts with the differences stated. How many of your lines would you move to an anti-sulfuration series, and has anyone checked their rated power?

Frequently asked questions
What has Nama PWP planned for solar in Oman?
AGBI reported in January 2026 that Nama PWP plans six solar projects of about 6 GW in total, online across 2030 and 2031, taking Oman’s renewable capacity to 12,182 MW. The sources call the capacities tentative and name no component.
Does Venatech hold anti-sulfuration chip resistors?
No. As at 23 September 2026 the stock list holds none of the 41,147 anti-sulfuration part numbers in the Walsin export. All 236 general-purpose lines we hold have a twin on size, value, tolerance and power, so a twin is a factory order. Ask for a quote through the site.
How did you decide that a part is a twin?
Same case size, resistance, tolerance and rated power, taken from the Walsin export. Where the TCR limit is also equal, 231 of 236 lines match. A twin is a candidate for you to check against both datasheets and qualify, not an approval.
Is WR04X2200FTL a match for SR04X2200FTL?
Not on every field. Both are 0402, 220 ohm, plus or minus 1% and up to 100 ppm, but the first is rated 1/16 W and the second 1/10 W. Rated power is the one field that differs. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
Do you state Oman duties, conformity rules or transit times?
No. We hold no Omani customs or conformity content, no office or stock in Oman, and no freight or transit data. Your forwarder, customs broker and compliance team own that side. We supply parts and, on request, a certificate of conformity per shipment.
Can I check a whole bill of materials at once?
Yes. The free cross-reference tool takes up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file and decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers. Candidates appear with each field marked match or mismatch. Qualification stays with you.
