Saudi Arabia EV and Industrial Localisation Passive Components from Hong Kong: 15 of 36 Stocked 25 V Class II MLCC Lines Have an AEC-Q200 Twin at 50 V, and None of the Twins Is on the Shelf

Saudi Arabia EV and industrial localisation passive components start with a voltage step and a grade step. Matching our 23 September 2026 stock list to Walsin’s export, 28 of 36 stocked 25 V class II MLCC lines have a 50 V twin, and 15 have an AEC-Q200 MT or ST twin at 50 V. None of those 15 twins is on our shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC parametric export: 24,026 rows, 23,601 distinct part numbers. This is for a procurement engineer at a Saudi vehicle, industrial-equipment or electronics-assembly programme who has a 25 V capacitor on a 12 V or 24 V rail and wants to know what sits one rung above it, and whether an automotive-grade version exists. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Where we state a development we name the source, its date and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.

What does Saudi Arabia’s EV push mean for electronics sourcing?

More local content over time, with electronics still imported. Enterprise reported on 1 September 2026 that Ceer, the Saudi EV brand, has finalised designs with production due in the fourth quarter of 2026 and targets 45 percent Saudi-sourced content by 2034; the same piece quotes experts who expect battery cells, semiconductors and advanced electronics to stay globally sourced for years.

It also reports that Lucid’s Saudi plant reassembles kits shipped from Arizona at roughly 5,000 units a year, and that electric vehicles were about 7 percent of Saudi sales in 2025, citing Deloitte. A second report from AGBI, whose page shows no date but whose address carries February 2026, says Ceer signed 16 supply agreements worth over 3.7 billion Saudi riyals, naming chemical compounds and steel body-shop equipment. Neither page names a capacitor or any component supplier, and we draw no conclusion about which parts any company buys. We have no relationship with any company named.

How many stocked 25 V class II lines have a 50 V and an AEC-Q200 twin?

28 have a 50 V twin and 15 have an automotive one. We joined the 1,125 lines in our stock list, as at 23 September 2026, to the MLCC export: 764 lines match a distinct export part number, 61 of those are rated 25 Vdc, and 36 are class II (29 X7R, 7 X5R; 12 are 0402 or 0201, 9 are 0603, 8 are 0805, 6 are 1206 and 1 is 1210). For each we searched the export for a 50 Vdc part with the same size, dielectric, capacitance and tolerance.

28 have one and 8 do not. Of the 28, 15 have an AEC-Q200 twin in the MT or ST series, and we find 0 of those 15 on the shelf; 12 of the 28 have a 50 V twin that is on the shelf, all in the general purpose or soft-termination SH series. We counted this from our own list; we have not seen it counted anywhere. The automotive twin changes the series, and Walsin’s wording is compliant with AEC-Q200, never certified.

Stocked 25 V class II lines Count Match / mismatch
All 25 Vdc class II lines 36 Reference group
With a 50 V twin in the export 28 Match on size, dielectric, capacitance, tolerance; mismatch on voltage
With a 50 V AEC-Q200 MT or ST twin 15 Match on the same four; mismatch on voltage and series
Where the AEC-Q200 twin is on the shelf 0 Mismatch: stocked lines are not in an automotive series
Where a 50 V twin of any series is on the shelf 12 Match on the same four; mismatch on voltage
With no 50 V twin 8 Mismatch: no 50 V rung at that value

Which worked part numbers show the twins, and what differs?

Take the stocked 0603 line 0603B104K250: 100 nF, X7R, plus or minus 10 percent, 25 Vdc. MT18B104K500 and ST18B104K500 share its size, dielectric, capacitance and tolerance at 50 Vdc in the AEC-Q200 MT and soft-termination ST series; 0603B104K500 does the same in general purpose and is stocked. The last column is for your incumbent part.

MT31B225K500 Automotive AEC-Q200 (MT) Same four fields, 50 Vdc Match on four fields; mismatch on voltage and series; not stocked
0603B394J250 General Purpose 0603, X7R, 390 nF, 5%, 25 Vdc Reference line, stocked; no 50 V twin

Our post on the MT and MG automotive MLCC series shows how the two differ, and what AEC-Q200 actually certifies explains why we write compliant. A 50 V part is a different part: confirm height, capacitance at bias and your own derating against both datasheets.

What do Walsin’s documents say about automotive and industrial use?

AEC-Q200 appears, vehicles do not. We converted all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, to text and searched them: AEC-Q200 appears in 8 of 28 files, automotive in 10, industrial in 3 and electric vehicle in 0. The industrial hits are the MG series sheet, the High Temperature sheet and the application guide.

None of the 28 describes a traction, charging or battery application. The automotive sheets cover the MT and ST capacitor series, the safety and microwave automotive series and the MR resistor, and we hold no sheet for any inductor, varistor or RF part.

What will we not tell you about Saudi Arabia?

Anything about Saudi import, tariff, standards or local-content rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Saudi Arabia; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty rate, customs procedure, transit time or carrier, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team. We make no claim that any Walsin part counts toward a local-content target or is approved for a vehicle.

How Venatech helps

We start with the cross-reference. Paste your incumbent 25 V part into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload a list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, so a pilot build can ask for the automotive series by request. You can request a quote through the site. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. The tables above came from our own export; the MLCC range lists the series. Qualification stays with you.

The short version

For a 25 V capacitor on a Saudi vehicle or industrial board, a 50 V rung exists for 28 of our 36 stocked class II lines and an AEC-Q200 version of it for 15. Of those 15, none is on the shelf, so the automotive grade is a request, not a pick from stock.

Send us one 25 V line from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin parts, with the 50 V and automotive rungs and every difference stated. Does your approval list need the AEC-Q200 series, or only a higher voltage?
