A stock list description check for a Swedish buyer is short: 6 of 582 described Hong Kong lines, 1.0 percent, disagree with Walsin’s parametric export on case size, capacitance, thickness or series. We read every description. Four are typing differences against a part number that agrees with the export; two are thickness figures the export contradicts and only the datasheet can settle.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, keeps a stock register that mixes two kinds of line: a code and a pack quantity, or a code and a hand-typed description. This post is written from the 683 described lines in our snapshot as at 23 September 2026, set against 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx from Walsin Technology (Walsin). We will not tell you a description is right. We will show you where it differs. Every part number below is real, and the question for a buyer in Sweden is a practical one: if a stock line says “0603 823K 16V X7R”, is that the part you are about to order?
How many Hong Kong stock lines carry a description we can check against the export?
683 carry a description, and 582 of those can be joined to an export row. We counted the snapshot’s 1,125 part numbers and found that the description column is filled on 683 of them, all ceramic capacitors. The other 442 lines have a pack quantity instead of a description, and 101 of the 683 described lines have no row in any Walsin MLCC export. Those 101 cannot be checked against the export, only against their own part number.
| Population | Lines | What we can compare | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Described, joined to an export row | 582 | Description against export size, voltage, dielectric, capacitance, thickness | Checkable field by field |
| Described, no export row | 101 | Description against the part number’s own code | Mismatch with the export population: no export field to compare |
| Not described (pack quantity only) | 442 | Nothing in free text | Mismatch: no description to check |
| Total snapshot | 1,125 |
We have published before that the snapshot is two concatenated registers. This post uses the half that carries words.
Which fields agree between a stock description and the Walsin export, and which do not?
Voltage and dielectric agree on every line, and each of the other four fields fails somewhere. We parsed all 683 descriptions into size, capacitance, voltage, dielectric, thickness and series keyword, then compared each with the export. Voltage agrees on 582 of 582 lines and dielectric on 580 of 580 that state one. Case size disagrees on 1, capacitance on 2, thickness on 2 of 16 that state it, and the series keyword on 1.
| Field | Lines where both sides state it | Agree | Disagree | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rated voltage | 582 | 582 | 0 | Match on every line, once 1KV is read as 1,000 V |
| Dielectric | 580 (2 omit it) | 580 | 0 | Match on every line that states it |
| Case size | 582 | 581 | 1 | Mismatch on HH15N1R9A500 |
| Capacitance | 582 | 580 | 2 | Mismatch on 0603B683K160 and RF18N560J251 |
Thickness (T token) |
16 (4 more have no export row) | 14 | 2 | Mismatch on 1206B101K102 and 1210B224K500 |
| Series keyword against the part number prefix | 115 (of 117 specialty prefixes) | 114 | 1 | Mismatch on HT21G472K500 |
Six distinct codes, 1.03 percent of 582. We have not seen this counted anywhere: a distributor’s own stock descriptions, checked field by field against the manufacturer’s export, with the failures listed by part number. The other number matters to anyone who parses these strings: a parser that accepts exactly size, one capacitance token, voltage in volts and dielectric reads 407 of the 683 descriptions, and the other 276 carry something extra.
Which six lines disagree, and which side of each is the part number on?
For the four lines that are not about thickness, the part number agrees with the export and the description is the odd one out. We decoded each code and compared it with both sides. The part number’s own size and capacitance code agree with the export on HH15N1R9A500, 0603B683K160 and RF18N560J251, and its prefix agrees on HT21G472K500; the thickness pair cannot be settled that way, because thickness is not in the part number.

HT21G472K500 |
HH 0805 472K 50V X8G |
series: High Temperature (HT) | prefix HT | Mismatch on series keyword: HH written, HT is the series |
One more observation, because it changes how you read the thickness check. 1206B221K202 is described as 0.85 mm and the export holds two rows for the code, 1.25 and 0.80 plus or minus 0.10 mm. 0.85 sits inside the second band, so we counted it as agreeing. The same applies to 1210B224K251, which has rows at 1.60 and 2.50 mm. A thickness comparison is never safe against a single row: 34 of the 582 joined codes have more than one export row, and 33 of those differ in thickness.
What about the 101 described lines that have no export row at all?
They agree with their own part numbers. We decoded voltage and capacitance from the code on all 683 described lines and compared them with the description. Voltage disagrees on 0 of 681 decodable lines and capacitance on 2, and both of those 2 are in the joined 582 and already listed above. So none of the 101 has a voltage or capacitance slip against its own code. On the joined 582, the capacitance, voltage and dielectric read from the code agree with the export on 582 of 582.
The 101 are a different problem. We counted their dielectric: 73 are Y5V, 20 NPO, 6 X7R and 2 X5R, across nine case sizes from 0201 to 2220. We have published before that 101 stock codes sit in no export, and the same 101 appear here. A description that agrees with its own part number is a description you can read. It is not a match against Walsin’s parametric data, because there is nothing on the other side. Run any of them through the free cross-reference tool and the honest answer is “no row”.
How many different ways does the description column write the same field?
A lot, and the variety is what defeats a quick parser. We counted the irregular spellings across all 683 lines. 206 of the 683 descriptions carry at least one: a series keyword on 114, Chinese annotation on 39, both a picofarad value and an EIA code on 53, and KV for voltage on 20.
| Spelling feature | Lines | Example | Match / mismatch against a parser expecting size, capacitance, voltage, dielectric |
|---|---|---|---|
| Size is the first token | 622 | 0201 181K 50V X7R |

Mismatch: size is the second token |
| Series keyword trailing | 53 | 0603 561 250V NPO RF |
Mismatch: keyword after the dielectric |
Voltage written KV |
20 | 1206 221K 1KV X7R |
Mismatch: V is not a plain number |
| Chinese annotation (soft termination, pack size, high capacitance, grade) | 39 | SH1206 683K 100V X7R软端 |
Mismatch: extra non-Latin token |
| Picofarad value and EIA code together | 53 | 1206 100P 101K 1KV X7R 1.6T 2K装 |
Mismatch: two capacitance tokens |
| Thickness token | 20 | 1210 224K 250V X7R 2k装1.6T |
Mismatch: extra token, no separator |
| Double space inside the string | 12 | 0603 511J 100V NPO F |
Mismatch: breaks a single-space split |
| Voltage letter slipped | 1 | HH0402 1.3P 50N NPO A |
Mismatch: N where V belongs |
Read the last row. HH15N1R3A500 is described with 50N for 50 V. The part number, the export and the dielectric all agree; the typing does not. A search on 50V would skip it. Twelve descriptions contain a double space and one writes volts as a lowercase v, which is harmless to a human and fatal to a strict string match. A cleaner view of a different problem, the spaces Walsin’s own export adds inside resistor codes, is in why Walsin part numbers do not paste into your BOM.
What should a Swedish buyer check before trusting a stock description?
The part number, first, and the description only as a hint. A Swedish design or purchasing team that pastes a stock list into an ERP should treat the code as the key and the description as commentary. On our snapshot the capacitance, voltage and dielectric read from the code agreed with the export on 582 of 582 joined lines, and the six exceptions were all in the description or in a thickness the code does not carry.
Three checks, each measured above:
- Join on the code, never on the words. The description disagrees with the export on 6 lines; the code is the field the export is keyed on.
- Compare thickness against every export row for the code. 34 of 582 joined codes have more than one row, and thickness differs between them on 33.
- Treat
1KV,50Nand Chinese suffixes as noise to strip, not as data. 206 of 683 descriptions carry one irregularity or more.
We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and the datasheet, not the stock register and not the export, is what to qualify against. Ask for the sheet covering your part number and it will be in your inbox. For how a Walsin code decodes, see how to read a Walsin MLCC part number. What is in Hong Kong is on ready stock, a dated snapshot of 1,125 part numbers as at 23 September 2026, not a live feed. The capacitor range sits on the MLCC page.
The short version
683 of our 1,125 Hong Kong stock lines carry a hand-typed description, and 582 of those join to a row in Walsin’s MLCC export. We compared six fields. Voltage and dielectric agree on every line. Case size disagrees on 1 line, capacitance on 2, thickness on 2 of 16, and a series keyword on 1: six codes, 1.03 percent. The 101 described lines with no export row agree with their own part numbers but have nothing to be checked against. 206 of the 683 descriptions carry an irregular spelling that breaks a strict parser. We will not tell you a description matches. We will tell you which six do not. Qualification stays with you; confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
Send us your stock list or BOM and we will run it through the free cross reference and return every line where the words and the code disagree. And a question back: when your ERP last imported a distributor’s description column, did anyone check the thickness?

How many Hong Kong stock lines disagree with the Walsin export for a buyer in Sweden?
6 of 582 joined lines, 1.03 percent. One disagrees on case size, two on capacitance, two on thickness and one on the series keyword. Voltage and dielectric agree on every line that states them. The comparison uses the snapshot dated 23 September 2026 against 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx.
Is the stock description or the part number the field to trust?
The part number. On 582 of 582 joined lines the code and the export agree on capacitance, voltage and dielectric. The description is typed by hand and carries 206 irregular spellings across 683 lines. Use the description as a hint and the code as the key.
Why does thickness differ between the description and the export?
Thickness is not encoded in a Walsin MLCC part number, and 34 of the 582 joined codes have more than one export row. On 1206B101K102 and 1210B224K500 the description and the single export row disagree. The datasheet for the series is the document to settle it.
Which stock lines have no export row to compare against?
101 of the 683 described lines. They agree with their own part numbers on voltage and capacitance, but the parametric export holds nothing for them, so a cross-reference run returns no row. We have published before that 101 stock codes sit in no export.
What do the Chinese characters in some descriptions mean?
39 of 683 descriptions carry Chinese annotation, such as 软端 for soft termination, 装 for a pack size, 高容 for high capacitance and 档 for a tolerance grade. They are internal notes. Strip them before you parse a description, and do not read them as part of the specification.
Can I paste the description column into the cross-reference tool?
Paste the part numbers, not the words. The free tool accepts up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV drop, and it matches on the code. A description such as 0603 823K 16V X7R does not match the part number 0603B683K160, which is the line it describes.
Does this check cover the chip resistor lines?
No. Only the 683 ceramic capacitor lines carry a description. The 254 chip resistor lines, two inductors and three safety capacitors in the snapshot are a code and a pack quantity, and we hold no datasheet for the inductor or safety capacitor codes.
