Power inductors for Italy’s appliance and machinery boards come with a duplicate hiding in Walsin’s export. We parsed all 5,410 inductor rows: each of the 41 WLPH rows repeats one WIP row on seven published fields, so 94 rows hold only 53 distinct records. Count part numbers, and an approved list can look twice as deep as it is.
A buyer who approves both prefixes as two sources may have approved one record twice. Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) inductor export of 5,410 rows and a stock list of 1,125 part numbers dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a purchasing or design engineer at an Italian appliance or machine maker whose control board has a buck stage. Every part number below is real. Every count is ours, and every market figure names its source and the day we read it.
What did Italy’s appliance bonus and machine-tool market do to board demand?
Applicants filed more than 1.1 million voucher applications for Italy’s appliance bonus, and appliance units sold rose 8.8%. Applia Italia’s figures, reported by Il Sole 24 Ore on 2 June 2026, say vouchers ran between 18 November and 31 December 2025 with a EUR 50 million endowment, and 250,000 were used. Units sold were 194,600 higher from November 2025 to April 2026 against the comparison period the article names.
Washing machines led replacements at 74,026, then ovens at 49,213, dishwashers at 38,196, refrigerators at 26,699 and electric hobs at 25,356. The bonus covered only products manufactured in Europe, and over 52% of the 7,835 eligible products were made in Italy.
The machine side moved too. UCIMU reported 2025 Italian production of machine tools, robots and automation at EUR 6,391 million, up 1%, with domestic deliveries up 28.1% to EUR 2,631 million and exports down 12% (page dated 10 July 2026). Our view, labelled as ours: every one of those machines and appliances carries a controller board, and the inductor on it is chosen late. Neither source says anything about passive components, and we name no manufacturer.
How many Walsin WLPH inductor rows repeat a WIP row?
All 41 of them. We opened Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, dropped the QA test row Test123999, and compared the 41 WLPH and WLPH(HC) rows with the 53 WIP, WIP_S, WIP_A and WIP_Y rows on size, thickness, inductance, unit, tolerance, DC resistance and rated current. Each WLPH row has exactly one WIP row identical on all seven.
The 22 WLPH Series rows pair with the 22 WIP Series rows, and the 19 WLPH(HC) rows pair with the 19 WIP_S rows. Twelve WIP rows have no WLPH match: eight in WIP_A and four in WIP_Y. We checked the pairing in both directions, and it is one to one. The 94 rows therefore hold 53 distinct records. We have not seen this counted anywhere. Our post on the Walsin inductor series lists the prefixes but does not pair them.
| Case size | WLPH rows (incl. HC) | WIP rows (incl. S) | Rows with a twin in the other prefix | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2016 | 15 | 15 | 15 of 15 | Match on seven fields; mismatch on prefix |
| 2520 | 26 | 26 | 26 of 26 | Match on seven fields; mismatch on prefix |
| 3225 (WIP_A) | 0 | 8 | 0 of 8 | Mismatch: no WLPH row exists |
| 2012 and 2016 (WIP_Y) | 0 | 4 | 0 of 4 | Mismatch: no WLPH row exists |
What does a duplicated record look like on a real part number?
The same inductance, size, resistance and current appear under two codes that share no suffix. At 2520 and 2.2 µH, the eight rows in these two families hold four distinct records. The stocked WLPH252012M2R2PP and WIP252012P-2R2ML both read 1.2 mm, ±20%, 85 mΩ and 2.27 A.
| Part | Twin in the other prefix | Published fields | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|
WLPH252012M2R2PP |
WIP252012P-2R2ML |
2520, 1.2 mm, 2.2 µH ±20%, 85 mΩ, 2.27 A | Match on seven fields; mismatch on prefix and series name |
WLPH252012M4R7PP |
WIP252012P-4R7ML |
2520, 1.2 mm, 4.7 µH ±20%, 196 mΩ, 1.61 A | Match on seven fields; mismatch on prefix |
WLPH252012M2R2PS |
WIP252012S-2R2ML |
2520, 1.2 mm, 2.2 µH ±20%, 74 mΩ, 2.5 A | Match on seven fields; mismatch against the PP part: 2.5 A against 2.27 A |
WLPH252010M2R2PP |
WIP252010P-2R2ML |
2520, 1.0 mm, 2.2 µH ±20%, 99 mΩ, 2.3 A | Match on seven fields; mismatch against 252012: 0.2 mm thinner |
WIP322512A-2R2ML |
none | 3225, 1.1 mm, 2.2 µH ±20%, 60 mΩ, 3 A | Mismatch: WIP_A has no WLPH twin |
The published numbers agree. That does not prove that the two prefixes are one product, and we cannot tell from the export which is the older name. Whether they are the same physical part is a question for Walsin, and it is on our request list. Until it is answered, do not count the pair as two qualified sources on an approved vendor list.
Does a power inductor row tell you enough to design with?
Not for a buck stage, because none of the 94 rows publishes a saturation current. We counted the Saturation Current column in Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx: 0 of 94 hold a value, against 146 of 5,410 rows across the whole export. Walsin’s export does not say how it defines its rated current, and we hold no datasheet to check. In the usual datasheet convention a rated current is a temperature-rise limit and saturation current is a separate one. The peak your control board sees in a motor-start or oven-element transient needs the saturation number, and it is not in our extract of Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx.
We hold no Walsin datasheet for any inductor, so there is no drawing to check against either. One row also shows a unit trap: WIP322512A-1R5ML lists 1.5 under nH while its siblings at 1R0 and 2R2 list µH. Read the code, not the unit cell. Our post on rated current against saturation current explains the gap, and the earlier note on Walsin inductors for Italian appliance and motor drives covers the resistance ladder.
What do we hold on the shelf, and what will we not say about Italy?
Two inductor lines of 1,125 stocked part numbers, both WLPH, neither with a WIP line. Our stock list as at 23 September 2026 holds WLPH252012M2R2PP and WLPH252012M4R7PP. The stock list is a dated snapshot and moves. Our ready stock page shows what is held in Hong Kong now.
We state no Italian duty rate, tariff code, customs procedure, transit time or carrier, and we hold no office, entity or stock in Italy. Whether a product qualifies for any incentive depends on the finished product, and we state no origin for any component. Confirm those questions with your own compliance team. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation.
Paste an Italian BOM into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, or load it through the BOM page. The inductor range lists the families. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
The short version
Italy’s appliance bonus drew more than 1.1 million applications and domestic deliveries of Italian machine tools, robots and automation rose 28.1%. In the Walsin export, 41 of 41 WLPH rows repeat a WIP row, 94 rows hold 53 records, and none publishes a saturation current. We stock two WLPH lines as at 23 September 2026.
Send us the inductor from one Italian appliance or machine board and we will return every row that matches its published fields, duplicates flagged. How many of your approved second sources are really the same row?

What power inductors do Italian appliance and machinery makers need from a Hong Kong distributor?
A buck-stage inductor with a published saturation current, which this family lacks. We parsed all 5,410 Walsin inductor rows: 41 of 41 WLPH rows repeat a WIP row, and 0 of 94 publish a saturation figure. We stock two WLPH lines.
Did the Italian appliance bonus raise sales?
Applia Italia’s figures, reported on 2 June 2026, say units sold rose by 194,600, or 8.8%, from November 2025 to April 2026, and more than 1.1 million voucher applications were filed. The bonus covered only products manufactured in Europe.
Are WLPH and WIP inductors the same part?
Their published fields are identical on seven values in 41 of 41 pairs, for example WLPH252012M2R2PP and WIP252012P-2R2ML at 2.2 µH, 85 mΩ and 2.27 A. Whether they are one product is a question for Walsin. Do not count the pair as two sources until it is answered.
Does a rated current of 2.27 A protect a buck stage?
Not on its own. In the usual datasheet convention rated current and saturation current are separate limits, and Walsin’s export does not define its rated current. None of the 94 WLPH and WIP rows publishes a saturation current, so measure it in your own circuit before you rely on a part.
Do you hold Walsin inductors in Hong Kong stock?
Two lines of 1,125, as at 23 September 2026: WLPH252012M2R2PP and WLPH252012M4R7PP. No WIP line is stocked. Stock moves, so ask for the current position.
Do you give Italian duty rates or transit times?
No. We hold no Italian customs content, no office or stock in Italy and no freight data, and we state no component origin. Confirm import and incentive questions with your compliance team. We supply parts, lot and date-code traceability and, on request, a certificate of conformity per shipment.
