Passive Components for Bulgaria After the Euro: 25 Walsin 1206 10 Kilohm 1% Resistors Carry 3 Power Ratings, and 0 Are on the Hong Kong Shelf

Passive components for Bulgaria from Hong Kong now arrive in a euro paperwork world, but the part risk has not moved: a 1206 10 kilohm 1% line is not one part. We counted 25 Walsin Technology (Walsin) part numbers for that single brief, spread across three rated powers, and none of the 25 is on our shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, wrote this for a buyer or design engineer in Bulgaria who sources chip resistors for electrical equipment or automotive electronics. It is built from Walsin’s chip resistor exports (234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers), our stock list as at 23 September 2026 and three dated public sources. Every part number is real, and every count is ours. We publish no prices.

What does euro adoption change for a Bulgarian buyer of passive components from Hong Kong?

It changes your paperwork, not the part. Bulgaria joined the euro area on 1 January 2026 at a fixed rate of 1.95583 lev to the euro, and the European Commission’s trade portal says customs values, import VAT, invoices and Intrastat reports are now stated directly in euros. None of that touches a resistor’s rated power.

The Commission page (Access2Markets, fetched 21 October 2026) also notes that dual price display in lev and euro was required until 8 August 2026, and that the change removes conversion steps for operators. We read it as a clerical simplification. A buyer who used to convert lev amounts on a customs declaration no longer does. A buyer who compares two suppliers still has to compare the parts.

That is where the work moves. When invoicing is easier, the slow step is technical: confirming that a replacement line matches the one on your approved vendor list. We make no statement about the currency we invoice in, a duty rate or a customs procedure. Confirm all of it with your compliance team.

Which Bulgarian industries pull on 1206 chip resistors?

Electrical equipment and vehicle electronics. The Bulgarian Association of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, as quoted in a blog post by the contract manufacturer ESCATEC dated 30 July 2026, counts more than 1,250 companies and about 57,000 people in the electrical sector, with just over 11 percent of Bulgarian exports. The same post cites automotive.bg for more than 380 automotive companies and over 80,000 employees.

ESCATEC also reports that about 70 percent of the sector’s exports go to the EU, led by Germany, Italy and Czechia. We have not checked these figures against the original statistics and the post is a trade blog, not an official release, so treat them as the sector’s own numbers. The National Statistical Institute figure the post cites for total goods exports in 2024 is 86.7 billion lev, about 44.3 billion euro.

What that means for a 1206 resistor is simple. Power supplies, motor drives, metering and lighting boards use the 1206 case for pull-ups, dividers and bleed paths, where a quarter-watt part is the default. The drawing says 1206 and 10 kilohm and 1%. It rarely says which of several power ratings the approved part carries. We have no information about any named Bulgarian company’s components, and nothing here implies that any buys Walsin parts.

Why does one 1206 10 kilohm 1% line carry three power ratings?

Because the export files the same brief under different series. We parsed all 37,566 Walsin 1206 chip resistor rows, then filtered to 10 kilohm at plus or minus 1%: 25 distinct part numbers in five series groups, with rated powers of 1/4 W on 16, 1/2 W on 6 and 3/4 W on 3. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

The table lists six of the 25, one per distinct combination of series, power and temperature coefficient. The last column is your side: put your incumbent part in it before anything else.

Walsin part Series group in the export Rated power TCR (ppm per degree Celsius) Your incumbent Match / mismatch with a 1206, 10 kilohm, 1%, 1/4 W brief
WR12X1002FTL General Purpose 1/4 W up to 100 ___ Match on all five fields
WK12K1002FTL High Precision (TC50) 1/4 W up to 50 ___ Match on power; mismatch: tighter TCR, different series
WK12V1002FTL High Voltage 1/4 W up to 100 ___ Match on the five fields; mismatch: a series defined by a voltage limit your brief does not state
WF12P1002FTL High Power 1/2 W up to 100 ___ Mismatch on rated power (double)
WF12A1002FTL High Power 3/4 W up to 100 ___ Mismatch on rated power (three times)
MF12E1002FTL Anti-Surge 3/4 W up to 100 ___ Mismatch on rated power and on series purpose

The export label for each row is the series string Walsin prints, including words such as “Automotive” on some rows. We read those as labels. Qualification status is not a column in the export, so ask for the document for the exact part number. Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size shows why the case alone does not fix the rating, and our post on anti-surge chip resistors covers the surge series.

A higher rating is not automatically a problem. It can change the height, the pulse behaviour and the series family your approval covers, which is why each row is a field-by-field comparison and not a swap. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

What does the Hong Kong shelf hold at 1206?

Twenty-two lines, none at 10 kilohm. We matched our stock list as at 23 September 2026, 1,125 part numbers, against the resistor exports: 183 of 254 chip resistor lines match a row, and 22 of those are 1206. Of the 22, 17 are rated 1/4 W, 4 are 3/4 W anti-surge lines and 1 is 1/2 W. None of the 25 parts above is among them.

The nearest stocked 1206 lines are WR12X1001FTL at 1 kilohm and WR12X1003FTL at 100 kilohm, both General Purpose, 1%, 1/4 W. A 10 kilohm line is therefore a request, not a shelf pull. The four anti-surge lines include MF12E1R00FTL, and MF12P3303FTL is the single 1/2 W High Power line.

Stock is a dated snapshot and moves; our ready stock page shows the Hong Kong list as at 23 September 2026. The chip resistor range lists all families. Lines absent from the shelf are not unobtainable; they are simply not held in Hong Kong on that date.

What will we not tell you about Bulgaria?

Anything about duty, customs or approval. We hold no office, entity or stock in Bulgaria; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation, and the three public sources above are the only Bulgarian content in this post. We give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.

We do not name Bulgarian customers, and we do not say which components the sector uses. We state no currency policy, delivery time or stock guarantee. What we can do is the match: field by field, with the differences stated, for an approved vendor list that your own engineers control.

How Venatech helps

  • VenaMatch cross-reference. Paste an incumbent part number into the free cross-reference tool. It decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and shows Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields.
  • BOM check. Upload a list at /bom/ and the same engine checks each line.
  • Ready-stock list. The Hong Kong list is a dated snapshot, as at 23 September 2026, never live-synced.
  • Worked example from our own export. Paste WR12X1002FTL, then read the other 24 parts that share size, value and tolerance and differ in power, series or TCR. That is the check your approval needs.
  • Who we are. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We are Hong Kong based, handle small lots and cross-referencing help, and you can request a quote through the site. Qualification stays with you.

The short version

A Bulgarian buyer should read the rated-power field before the value. Of 25 Walsin 1206 10 kilohm 1% part numbers, 16 are 1/4 W, 6 are 1/2 W and 3 are 3/4 W, and none is on the Hong Kong shelf as at 23 September 2026. Euro adoption simplified the invoice; it did not change the match.

Send us one 1206 line from your BOM and we will return the Walsin parts with the power, TCR and series differences stated. If your drawing never states the rated power, which of the 25 does your approved part actually match?
