Electronics manufacturing in Taiwan is running at record order levels, and every added board line adds a BOM line. We counted 36 distinct Walsin Technology (Walsin) 0402 X7R 100 nF parts across five voltage classes. Our shelf as at 23 September 2026 holds 3 of them, at 16, 25 and 50 V, and 3 others appear twice in Walsin’s export.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a purchasing or component engineer at a Taiwanese ODM or EMS who wants one more source for a common bulk line, a way to merge near-duplicate lines, or a small lot for an engineering build. We have no office or stock in Taiwan and we serve from Hong Kong. Every part number is real and every count is ours. The news statements name their source and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.
How large is Taiwan’s electronics order book in 2026?
Taiwan’s export orders reached a record 114.21 billion US dollars in September 2026, up 62.4 percent on a year earlier and the 20th straight month of growth, with electronics at 47.42 billion and information and communication technology at 43.88 billion. That is from Focus Taiwan on 20 October 2026, reporting data from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The same report says electronics orders rose 71.0 percent and information and communication technology orders rose 87.3 percent, together almost 80 percent of September orders, with the ministry crediting AI development. January to September orders totalled 819.20 billion US dollars, up 56.0 percent, and the ministry sees 2026 orders above 1.1 trillion US dollars against 743.7 billion in 2025. The United States took 45.38 billion of the September total, ASEAN 20.85 billion and China including Hong Kong 18.21 billion. Optoelectronics fell 5.6 percent on weaker flat-panel demand.
We draw one conclusion, and it is ours: when order books grow that fast, the pressure lands on the long tail of cheap bulk parts as much as on the headline chips, because a missing 100 nF capacitor stops a board as surely as a missing processor. We have no relationship with any Taiwanese manufacturer or the ministry.
Which Walsin 0402 X7R 100 nF parts cross an ODM board line, and what differs?
Eleven distinct Walsin parts match a brief of 0402, X7R, 100 nF at 16 V, across five series; one is the General Purpose 10 percent part 0402B104K160, and it is on our shelf as at 23 September 2026. Our post on NP0, X7R and X5R dielectrics explains why the dielectric field decides more than the voltage.
The table takes a brief of 0402, X7R, 100 nF, 16 V, plus or minus 10 percent, thickness 0.50 mm, from a commercial series. Add your incumbent in the last column.
| Walsin part | Series | Tolerance, voltage | Thickness (mm) | On shelf 23 Sep 2026 | Match / mismatch with the brief | Your incumbent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
0402B104K160 |
General Purpose | plus or minus 10%, 16 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 | Yes | Match on size, dielectric, value, tolerance, voltage | |
0402B104K250 |
General Purpose | plus or minus 10%, 25 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 | Yes | Mismatch: rated 25 V, not 16 V | |
0402B104K500 |
General Purpose | plus or minus 10%, 50 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 and 0.50 plus or minus 0.20 | Yes | Mismatch: rated 50 V; two export rows at different thickness tolerance | |
0402B104J160 |
General Purpose | plus or minus 5%, 16 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 | No | Mismatch: tighter tolerance | |
0402B104M160 |
General Purpose | plus or minus 20%, 16 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 | No | Mismatch: looser tolerance | |
MT15B104K160 |
MT automotive | plus or minus 10%, 16 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 | No | Mismatch: automotive series | |
SH15B104K160 |
SH soft termination | plus or minus 10%, 16 V | 0.50 plus or minus 0.20 | No | Mismatch: soft-termination body, wider thickness band |
We counted the 16 V set from the export: 3 General Purpose, 3 MT, 2 MG, 1 ST and 2 SH part numbers, 11 in all. A higher voltage rating does not change the capacitance you need, but it does not prove the same bias behaviour either; our post on DC bias and derating shows why you check the curve. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
How many voltage classes does one 100 nF 0402 X7R line come in?
Five, with 36 distinct part numbers: 3 at 6.3 V, 8 at 10 V, 11 at 16 V, 8 at 25 V and 6 at 50 V, and our shelf covers 3 of the 36 at 16, 25 and 50 V. The export holds 39 rows for the 36, so three parts are listed twice.
The three repeats are all at 50 V: 0402B104J500, 0402B104K500 and 0402B104M500 each appear once at a thickness of 0.50 plus or minus 0.05 mm and once at 0.50 plus or minus 0.20 mm. We cannot tell from the export which height ships, and at 0402 a placement line may care. Our post on duplicate MLCC part numbers shows how the pattern runs across the file, and the answer is to ask for the datasheet issue and the actual thickness before you freeze the footprint.
For a BOM-rationalisation exercise, this count is the useful number. A board family that carries separate 16 V, 25 V and 50 V lines of the same 100 nF capacitor has three lines that may collapse into one 50 V line, if the circuit allows it, and our shelf holds a part at each of the three voltages. That decision is yours and depends on the bias curve, the supply rail and your qualification; we only show you which parts exist.
What can a Hong Kong shelf do for a Taiwanese ODM or EMS?
It can cover short engineering builds and second-source lines in small lots, and as at 23 September 2026 it holds 3 of the 36 parts at this value and size. For the other 33 we quote against the export through a request, from Hong Kong, and we promise no lead time here.
The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and our post on Walsin stock in Hong Kong explains how to read it. The MLCC range lists the families. A Taiwan buyer may already deal with Walsin directly; we make no claim to beat that, and we sit alongside it for Hong Kong ship-to, cross-referencing help and lots too small for a direct order.
We hold lot and date-code traceability, a certificate of conformity per shipment on request and original sealed Walsin packaging. We hold no office, entity or stock in Taiwan, and we give no customs or compliance advice; confirm with your compliance team.
How Venatech helps
Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file, to run every line at once. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026.
Worked example from our own export: the 0402, X7R, 100 nF filter returned 39 rows and 36 distinct part numbers across five voltages, and our shelf covers 3 of them. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and a quote is requested through the site. We send the Walsin datasheets we hold, 28 files of 451 pages, on request.
The short version
For a Taiwanese ODM or EMS, record orders mean more lines to feed and more reasons to merge the ones that are nearly the same: one 0402 X7R 100 nF family comes as 36 parts in five voltage classes, three of them listed twice, and our shelf holds a part at three voltages.
Paste one board family’s BOM and we will show which 100 nF lines collapse and which cannot. If three voltage variants of one capacitor sit on your BOM today, which of them is there on purpose?

Frequently asked questions
How much did Taiwan’s export orders reach in September 2026?
Focus Taiwan reported on 20 October 2026, citing the Ministry of Economic Affairs, a record 114.21 billion US dollars, up 62.4 percent year on year, the 20th consecutive month of growth. Electronics orders were 47.42 billion and information and communication technology orders 43.88 billion.
Which Walsin part crosses a 0402, X7R, 100 nF, 16 V, 10 percent brief?
0402B104K160 matches on size, dielectric, value, tolerance and voltage, and it is on our shelf as at 23 September 2026. Neighbours differ in voltage, tolerance or series. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
How many Walsin 0402 X7R 100 nF parts are there?
We counted 36 distinct part numbers in 39 export rows: 3 at 6.3 V, 8 at 10 V, 11 at 16 V, 8 at 25 V and 6 at 50 V. Three parts, all at 50 V, appear twice with different thickness tolerances.
Can one 50 V part replace the 16 V and 25 V lines?
That is your decision. A 50 V part exists at this value and size and is on our shelf, but a higher rating does not prove the same capacitance under bias in your circuit. Check the DC-bias curve and qualify it in your own circuit.
Do you hold stock or an office in Taiwan?
No. We hold no office, entity or stock in Taiwan; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots and give no customs or compliance advice. Confirm with your compliance team.
