E-bike electronics components for the Netherlands face a narrow shelf where board flex meets pack voltage. We counted Walsin Technology (Walsin) soft-termination capacitors: 23 part numbers combine X7R, 100 V or more and 1 µF or more, 10 of them in 1206 and 1210, and none is on our Hong Kong shelf as at 23 September 2026.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or sourcing engineer at a Dutch maker of e-bike drive units, controllers or battery packs who wants a second source for a bulk capacitor on a board that flexes and vibrates. Every part number is real, every count is ours, and the market figures name their source and the day we read it, 23 October 2026.
What happened to the Dutch e-bike market in 2025?
It shrank in volume and grew in price. According to a RAI Vereniging and Bovag market study by NielsenIQ, reported in the June 2026 edition of Bike Europe, Dutch combined bicycle and e-bike sales were 795,968 units in 2025, down 7 percent and the lowest in 40 years, while e-bikes sold about 391,000 units, down 4.4 percent, at an average retail price of 2,872 euro, up about 6 percent.
The same report puts the combined market value at 1.533 billion euro, down 1.3 percent, and says independent bicycle dealers handled 89 percent of e-bike volume. Those are the source’s figures, not ours. The page carries no exact publication date, so we cite it by edition. We draw one conclusion, and it is ours: a market that sells fewer, dearer e-bikes rewards the maker who cuts field failures on the controller board, because a warranty return costs more when the bike costs more.
We have no relationship with any Dutch e-bike maker, dealer or industry body.
Why does a Dutch e-bike controller board care about soft termination?
Because a rigid ceramic on a flexing board can crack, and a battery bus gives a small margin for a cracked part. Walsin lists 1,553 soft-termination part numbers across two families, 1,488 in the SH series (silver polymer) and 65 in the SG series (copper polymer), and 879 of them are rated 100 V or more.
We make no performance claim for either termination; read the series sheet for the flex data you need, and see our post on soft termination MLCC in the SH, SG, ST and VT series. The voltage point is simple. If your battery bus can touch 50 V or more, a 50 V part has no margin, so the candidates are the 100 V parts we count here. We counted by opening the export, filtering the series name for SH and SG, and de-duplicating on part number; the row count and the distinct count differ because a few parts appear twice with different thickness values.
Which Walsin soft-termination parts reach 1 µF at 100 V, and which cross a 2.2 µF 1210 brief?
Twenty-three parts reach it, and the ladder is thin. Of 23 SH and SG part numbers that are X7R, rated 100 V or more and 1 µF or more, 3 are 1206, 7 are 1210, 6 are 1812, 1 is 1825 and 6 are 2220; on the same filter the standard, non-soft series offers 17 parts in 1206 and 1210, and 2 of those are on our shelf. We have not seen this counted anywhere.
Take a brief of 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 10 percent, 100 V, soft termination. The reader’s incumbent goes in the last column.
| Walsin part | Description | On shelf 23 Sep 2026 | Match / mismatch with the brief | Your incumbent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
SH32B225K101 |
SH, 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 10%, 100 V | No | Match on size, dielectric, capacitance, tolerance, voltage and termination family; the export lists two thickness values, 2.50 and 2.00 mm | |
SH32B225M101 |
SH, 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 20%, 100 V | No | Mismatch: looser tolerance | |
SH31B225K101 |
SH, 1206, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 10%, 100 V | No | Mismatch: smaller 1206 body | |
SH32B475K101 |
SH, 1210, X7R, 4.7 µF, plus or minus 10%, 100 V | No | Mismatch: capacitance is 4.7 µF | |
SH32B335K500 |
SH, 1210, X7R, 3.3 µF, plus or minus 10%, 50 V | Yes | Mismatch: 50 V rating and 3.3 µF | |
1210B225K101 |
General Purpose, 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 10%, 100 V | Yes | Mismatch: standard termination, not soft |
The last row matters. The part on the shelf is the same electrical value without the soft termination, and that is a design decision for you, not a substitution for us to make. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
What does the Hong Kong shelf hold in soft termination?
Thirty SH part numbers and no SG. Of the 30 SH parts on our stock list as at 23 September 2026, 18 are rated 100 V or more, and none of those 18 reaches 1 µF.
The shelf SH parts sit mostly in 0805 (10) and 1206 (10), with 4 in 1210, 3 in 0603 and one each in 0402, 1808 and 2220. The 100 V, 1 µF and above soft-termination parts are therefore a quote-to-order line, not a shelf line, and the ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock covers how to read it, and the MLCC range lists the families. We hold lot and date-code traceability, a certificate of conformity per shipment on request and original sealed Walsin packaging.
What will we not tell you about e-bike safety and compliance?
Anything about the standards your drive or pack must meet. None of the 28 Walsin datasheets we hold mentions an e-bike, a battery pack or a bicycle standard, and we make no claim that any part here is qualified for one. We hold no ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certificate.
The soft-termination series sheets are datasheets for a capacitor, not for your product. We hold no office, entity or stock in the Netherlands; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team. Qualification stays with you.
How can Venatech help a Dutch e-bike maker?
How Venatech helps starts with a free paste box. The cross-reference tool decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file, to run every line of a controller or pack board. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026.
Worked example from our own export: the soft-termination filter above returned 23 part numbers at 100 V and 1 µF or more, none on the shelf, while the standard-termination 1210 at 2.2 µF is. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and you request a quote through the site. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send them on request.
The short version
For a Dutch e-bike maker, the soft-termination capacitor at 100 V is a thin ladder: 23 parts at 1 µF or more, 10 of them in 1206 and 1210, none on our shelf. The electrical cross is quick; the termination choice is yours.
Send us one bulk-capacitor line from your controller BOM and we will return the Walsin parts with every difference stated. If a 100 V soft-termination part is a quote line, how many weeks of your design schedule does that cost you?

Frequently asked questions
How many e-bikes were sold in the Netherlands in 2025?
About 391,000, down 4.4 percent, according to a RAI Vereniging and Bovag study by NielsenIQ as reported in the June 2026 edition of Bike Europe. Combined bicycle and e-bike sales were 795,968 units, down 7 percent. These are the source’s figures, not ours.
Which Walsin soft-termination capacitors reach 1 µF at 100 V?
Twenty-three SH and SG part numbers are X7R, rated 100 V or more and 1 µF or more: 3 in 1206, 7 in 1210, 6 in 1812, 1 in 1825 and 6 in 2220. None is on our shelf as at 23 September 2026. Confirm against the datasheet.
Which Walsin part crosses a 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, 100 V, soft-termination brief?
SH32B225K101 matches on size, dielectric, capacitance, tolerance, voltage and termination family, and is not on the shelf. SH32B225M101 has a plus or minus 20 percent tolerance and SH31B225K101 is 1206. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
Is a standard-termination 1210 at 2.2 µF available from Hong Kong stock?
Yes. 1210B225K101 is a General Purpose 1210, X7R, 2.2 µF, plus or minus 10 percent, 100 V part on our stock list as at 23 September 2026. It is not a soft-termination part, so it is a different design choice, not a like-for-like swap.
Do you claim these parts are qualified for e-bikes?
No. None of the 28 datasheets we hold mentions an e-bike or a battery pack, and we hold no ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certificate. We make no qualification claim. Qualification stays with you; confirm with your compliance team.
