Medtech electronics for Israel need a materials answer the parametric export cannot give. We opened every Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC datasheet: all 19 construction tables name nickel as the termination middle layer, 15 also as the inner electrode, and the export’s Termination column, filled on 1,106 of 24,026 rows, holds no finish at all.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers), 28 Walsin datasheets of 451 pages and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design, quality or sourcing engineer at an Israeli medical device maker who must answer a materials question about a capacitor and cannot find the answer in a spreadsheet. Every part number is real and every count is ours. The market statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.
What do Israel’s 2025 medtech figures say about its component buyers?
A flat export line and a cooler funding line. The Jerusalem Post reported on 28 June 2026 that Israeli medical equipment exports were about 3.3 billion US dollars in 2025, roughly flat on 2024, while private investment in medical devices fell by more than 60 percent in 2025. The same report gives sector-wide life-sciences and health-tech totals of about 1.6 billion US dollars of 2025 investment, about 1,800 active companies and about 81,000 employees; those totals cover more than devices.
We read that as a buyer who is still shipping and is careful with spend: fewer funded start-ups, the same installed base of established makers. That is our reading, not the report’s. A buyer in that position wants a second source it can document in a day. We have no relationship with any Israeli device maker and name none.
Which Walsin MLCC series put nickel in the termination, and where does the sheet say so?
All of them, in the sheet and not in the export. Of the 19 Walsin MLCC files that print a construction table (the catalogue and 18 series sheets), 19 list nickel as the termination middle layer, 15 list nickel as the inner electrode, and 4 list copper: the RF, RH, UF and RT microwave series. We have not seen this counted anywhere.
We read the first page of construction in every PDF, not the filenames. The four copper-electrode series still print a nickel middle layer, so none of the 19 tables describes a nickel-free termination. In the files without a table, the three safety sheets (S2, S2 automotive, S3) say in prose that the terminations are plated nickel and pure tin, and the surface-coating sheet shows Cu/Ni/Sn in its ordering key; that makes 23 of our 28 files that print nickel in some form. The two resistor sheets, the application guide and the two Mega Cap sheets do not.
The export is no help. Its Termination column holds a value on 1,106 of 24,026 rows, and we searched them for Ni, Cu, Sn and Ag: 0 hits. The values are tolerances such as -0.1 (369 rows) and +-10% (141 rows), the column offset our post on the Walsin MLCC export against its upload file touches on. Across the 28 files we also searched for the stem magnet and for MRI: 0 files mention either.
Nickel is a ferromagnetic metal; that is general physics, not a datasheet line, and whether a plated barrier a few microns thick matters in your field is a test result, not a lookup. We make no claim that any part is non-magnetic.
Which Walsin capacitors cross a small-chip NP0 line for a nickel-conscious brief?
None meets a nickel-free brief; two series differ on the inner electrode. Take a brief of a small NP0 chip with no nickel anywhere in the part: all seven series below fail on the termination middle layer, and the RF and UF series pass only on the inner electrode, so 0 of 7 match. The table names a real part from each.
| Walsin part | Series | Inner electrode / middle layer (sheet) | Export Termination cells filled | On shelf 23 Sep 2026 | Match / mismatch with a nickel-free brief | Your incumbent |

High Temperature (HT) | Ni / Ni | 0 of 128 | Yes | Mismatch: nickel in both places
SH18B152K101 |
Soft termination SH | Ni / Ni, polymer layer within the termination | 6 of 1,524 | Yes | Mismatch: nickel in both places

Microwave RF | Cu / Ni | 0 of 3,615 | Yes | Mismatch: copper electrode, but a nickel middle layer
UF03N3R9B101 |
Ultra Microwave UF | Cu / Ni | 0 of 285 | Yes | Mismatch: copper electrode, but a nickel middle layer |
Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit. Our post on soft-termination MLCC explains what the polymer layer is for; it does not remove the nickel.
What does a Hong Kong shelf hold in series with a copper inner electrode?
67 of 762. We matched the 864 MLCC lines on our 23 September 2026 list to the export: 762 distinct part numbers match, and 67 of them (8.8 percent) are in the RF or UF series, whose sheets name copper as the inner electrode; the other 695 sit under sheets that name nickel. All 762 have a nickel middle layer in their sheet.
So even the best case for a copper-electrode brief is a small corner of a small shelf, and it is a microwave corner: capacitances of a few picofarad to a few tens of picofarad. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock covers its scope, and the MLCC range lists the families. The 102 stock lines with no export row are reported, not guessed at.
What will we not tell you about medical suitability?
Anything about classification, approval, biocompatibility or magnetic behaviour. We hold no ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 certificate, none of the 28 datasheets we hold mentions ISO 13485, a medical use or magnetic behaviour, and we make no claim that any Walsin part is suitable for a medical device. We hold no office, entity or stock in Israel.
We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. Lot and date-code traceability, a certificate of conformity per shipment on request and original sealed Walsin packaging are what we offer. Qualification stays with you.
How Venatech helps
Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file, to run every line. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026.
Worked example from our own sheets: the seven-series table above took 28 PDFs and the 24,026-row export to build, and the export alone could not have told you any of it. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and you request a quote through the site. Send us the exact part number and we will send the sheet that covers it.
The short version
For an Israeli medtech buyer the capacitor question is rarely about capacitance. It is about what the part is made of, and the answer lives in a PDF: nickel in the termination of all 19 construction tables, copper electrodes in four microwave series only, and a Termination column in the export that states no finish on 1,106 populated rows.
Send us one capacitor from your bill of materials and the materials question you have to answer about it, and we will send the Walsin sheet pages that bear on it. If your approval file asks what a part is made of, where does yours get the answer today?

Frequently asked questions
How big were Israeli medical equipment exports in 2025?
The Jerusalem Post reported on 28 June 2026 about 3.3 billion US dollars, roughly flat on 2024, with private investment in medical devices down more than 60 percent in 2025. These are the newspaper’s figures, not ours. Confirm them at source.
Does the Walsin MLCC export tell me the termination finish?
No. The Termination column holds a value on 1,106 of 24,026 rows, and none of them is a finish; the values are tolerances such as minus 0.1. The finish is in the datasheets: all 19 construction tables name nickel as the termination middle layer.
Do any Walsin MLCC series have no nickel at all?
Not in the sheets we hold. Four microwave series (RF, RH, UF and RT) name copper as the inner electrode, but all four still list a nickel middle layer in the termination. Ask us for the sheet pages that cover your part number.
Are Walsin capacitors non-magnetic or MRI compatible?
We make no such claim. None of the 28 datasheets we hold mentions magnetic behaviour or MRI, and nickel is present in the terminations they describe. Whether a part suits your field is a test in your own environment. Qualification stays with you.
How many of your stocked MLCC lines are in a copper-electrode series?
67 of 762 distinct stocked part numbers matched to the export, 8.8 percent, are in the RF or UF series. The other 695 sit under sheets that name a nickel inner electrode. The stock list is a snapshot dated 23 September 2026, never live-synced.
Do you hold ISO 13485 or stock in Israel?
No. We hold no ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 certificate, and no office, entity or stock in Israel. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice. Confirm with your compliance team.
