Nickel Processing Electronics for New Caledonia from Hong Kong: Walsin’s 71 High-Current Ferrite Bead Rows Reach 9 A, 14 Print the Rated Current as a Bare Number Such as 6000, and 6 of the 16 Rows at 6 A or More Are Among Them, None on Our Shelf

Nickel processing electronics for New Caledonia use ferrite beads on motor-drive and control power lines. We counted Walsin Technology (Walsin) WLBD(HC) high-current beads: 71 rows reaching 9 A, 14 of them print the rated current as a bare number such as 6000, 6 of the 16 rows at 6 A or more are among them, and none is on our Hong Kong shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin inductor export of 5,410 real rows (the 5,411th is a test row we exclude) and a ready-stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or procurement engineer at a New Caledonian mine, smelter, workshop or electrical contractor who has a ferrite bead on a power line and wants a second source in small lots from Hong Kong. Every Walsin part number is real, every count is ours, and the news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.

What does the SLN’s 2026 nickel plan mean for a New Caledonian electronics buyer?

It means a plant that is trying to run more and spend less, which favours spares over redesigns. Les Nouvelles Caledoniennes reported on 20 January 2026, updated 3 February 2026, that the SLN is targeting 43,000 tonnes of ferronickel in 2026 after about 36,000 tonnes in 2025 and 32,000 in 2024, with energy its largest cost and a return to profitability aimed for 2029 to 2030.

The article, which we read in French on 2 November 2026, adds that a 240 million euro state-backed bond loan is being disbursed, that the company asks for lasting support of about 150 million euros a year towards energy costs, that it employs fewer than 1,800 people, and that the Kiel mine at Kouaoua has a partial restart agreed after standing idle since 2017. It names no component, equipment or electronics supplier, so we draw no link between it and any part number. Our view, labelled as ours: a plant squeezed on cost repairs drives and control cabinets rather than replacing them, and a ferrite bead is one of the small parts that gets replaced. We have no relationship with the SLN or any other producer.

Which Walsin ferrite beads run at 6 A or more?

Sixteen rows, all in one family. We parsed all 71 rows of the WLBD(HC) series and found 16 rated at 6 A or more: 6 in 1206, 4 in 1812, 2 in 1806, 2 in 0805 and 2 in 0603, topping out at 9 A for WLBD4532HCU800PH and its twin. We have not seen this series counted anywhere.

The plain WLBD series, 68 rows, tops out at 0.8 A, so the HC suffix is what separates a signal-line bead from a power-line bead. The 6 A tier carries 30 ohm to 120 ohm at 100 MHz and a DC resistance of 15 milliohm in most cases. Our post on ferrite bead against inductor impedance at 100 MHz explains how to read the impedance column, and rated current against saturation current in chip inductors explains why the two ratings differ.

Why do 14 of the 71 rows print the current as a bare number?

Because 14 rows hold a milliamp count with no unit. Of the 71 WLBD(HC) rows, 57 print the rated current with its unit, such as 6A, and 14 print a bare number, such as 6000 or 9000; every one of the 14 is a TH-suffix row in 1206, 1812, 1210 or 1806, and every one has a PH-suffix twin at the same size and impedance that prints amps.

A numeric filter that strips the letter A from the column reads 6 for the PH row and 6000 for the TH twin, so a search for 6 A or more returns both, while a search for 9 A or less drops the TH rows. In the 16-row, 6 A-or-more set, 6 are bare. Treat the unit as unresolved until Walsin confirms it for the code you intend to order, and read our post on the 208 Walsin inductors with no datasheet for how little documentation backs this family.

How do the candidates compare field by field?

Suffix, size and thickness separate them. The table sets six rows against a 30 ohm at 100 MHz, 6 A, 1206 bead line.

Walsin part Case, thickness Impedance at 100 MHz, DC resistance, rated current as printed On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch against a 30 ohm, 6 A, 1206 line
WLBD3216HCU300PH 1206, 1.1 mm 30 ohm, 0.015 ohm, 6A No Match on impedance, current and case
WLBD3216HCU300TH 1206, 1.1 mm 30 ohm, 0.015 ohm, 6000 No Match on electrical fields; mismatch in how the current is printed, no unit
WLBD2012HCU300TH 0805, 0.9 mm 30 ohm, 0.015 ohm, 6A No Match on impedance and current; mismatch on case, 0805 is smaller
WLBD1608HCU260TL 0603, 0.6 mm 26 ohm, 0.007 ohm, 6A No Mismatch: impedance 26 ohm and case 0603
WLBD3216HCU500PH 1206, 1.1 mm 50 ohm, 0.015 ohm, 6A No Mismatch: impedance, 50 ohm against 30 ohm
WLBD4532HCU800PH 1812, 1.5 mm 80 ohm, 0.01 ohm, 9A No Mismatch: case, impedance and a higher current rating

The 0805 row reaches 6 A in a smaller body than the 1206 row, at the same 15 milliohm, which is a trade a designer may want. Impedance at 100 MHz is a single point, not a curve, and we hold no datasheet for this family.

What does the Hong Kong shelf hold for this line?

None of the 71. As at 23 September 2026 our list holds 1,125 distinct part numbers, 2 of them inductors, WLPH252012M2R2PP and WLPH252012M4R7PP, and no ferrite bead of any family.

A WLBD(HC) bead is therefore a factory order, requested through the site. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and we quote part-number counts, never piece counts. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock explains how to read it, and our inductor range lists the families.

What will we not tell you about nickel plants?

Anything about a furnace, a drive or a corrosive atmosphere. We hold no datasheet for any Walsin inductor or ferrite bead, 0 of the 5,410 inductor rows are backed by one of our 28 sheets, and we searched all 28 sheets for mining, marine, salt and tropic and found 0 matches.

We therefore cannot give you a derating curve, a saturation figure or a temperature range for any of the 71 rows, and the export publishes no saturation current for this family. We hold no office, entity or stock in New Caledonia; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team.

Why do buyers in New Caledonia choose Venatech?

Because we show a New Caledonian buyer the mismatches as well as the matches, and we can prove the rest: 28 Walsin datasheets held, 451 pages, and one named authorised line. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong; Walsin is our only authorised line, and Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We confirm nothing we cannot show.

New Caledonian buyers tend to need a few pieces to keep a line running, and a small lot is a normal order for us. For a ferrite bead:

  • We read the column before you do. In the WLBD(HC) family we found 14 rows with no unit on the current, and we tell you so before your filter drops them.
  • We name the gap. We hold no datasheet for any inductor or bead, and we say that instead of quoting a curve.

  • Hong Kong-based service, small lots welcome. A prototype or pilot quantity is a normal order for us, requested through the site.

  • Breadth you can count. Our Walsin extracts (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_MOV_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_DiscCap_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx and the chip-resistor, thin-film and RF files) hold 359,135 distinct part numbers, and the VenaMatch tool covers 800,000+ crossable parts.
  • Honest cross-referencing. Every candidate is shown with each field marked match or mismatch, so you see the gap before you lay out a board.
  • Checkable credentials. We are an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong, which you can confirm with Walsin. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the relevant one on request.

How can Venatech help a New Caledonian buyer with a high-current ferrite bead line?

By showing the differences instead of hiding them, across 800,000+ crossable parts, in small lots. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.

  • Cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch.
  • BOM check. Upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file.
  • Ready stock. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, not live.
  • Service. Hong Kong-based, small lots, help with cross-referencing by hand when the tool returns no clean candidate, and a quote requested through the site.

Worked example from our own export: a 30 ohm at 100 MHz, 6 A, 1206 ferrite bead maps to WLBD3216HCU300PH, with WLBD3216HCU300TH as its twin that prints 6000, to WLBD2012HCU300TH if you can use a 0805 pad, and to nothing on the shelf. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

The short version

For a New Caledonian nickel-plant buyer, Walsin’s WLBD(HC) beads are 71 rows reaching 9 A; 14 print the current as a bare number, 6 of the 16 rows at 6 A or more are among them, and none is on the Hong Kong shelf.

Paste one ferrite bead from a drive or control board into the free cross-reference tool, or upload the board to /bom/, and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated and the stock position named. If your filter reads 6000 as 6000 amps, which of your own spreadsheets is quietly dropping the part?

Frequently asked questions

What did the SLN say about its 2026 plans?

Les Nouvelles Caledoniennes reported on 20 January 2026 that the SLN targets 43,000 tonnes of ferronickel in 2026, up from about 36,000 in 2025, with energy its largest cost and profitability aimed for 2029 to 2030. The article names no component.

How many Walsin WLBD(HC) beads are rated 6 A or more?

We counted 16 of 71 rows: 6 in 1206, 4 in 1812, 2 in 1806, 2 in 0805 and 2 in 0603. The highest is 9 A for WLBD4532HCU800PH and its twin.

Why does a Walsin bead show a rated current of 6000?

In the export, 14 of 71 WLBD(HC) rows print the current as a bare number in milliamps, such as 6000, while their PH-suffix twins print 6A. Treat the unit as unresolved until Walsin confirms it for your code.

Is a high-current ferrite bead on the Hong Kong shelf?

No. As at 23 September 2026 our list holds 2 inductors and no ferrite bead, so each candidate is a quote requested through the site. The list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced.

Does Venatech hold a datasheet for these beads?

No. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and none covers an inductor or ferrite bead. We therefore cannot give a derating curve, and we give no compliance advice. Qualification stays with you.

Does Venatech have an office in New Caledonia?

No. We hold no office, entity or stock in New Caledonia. Venatech Limited is based in Hong Kong with locations in Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and Chengdu in preparation. We serve New Caledonian buyers from Hong Kong in small lots.
