What did the UK government approve on 30 October 2026?
On 30 October 2026 the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announced approval of Sea Link, a 2 GW undersea power connection between Suffolk and Kent, developed by National Grid. The page says the aim is to ease grid pressure and reduce payments to generators asked to switch off when the network cannot carry their electricity. It also says the government has approved 39 nationally significant clean energy projects since July 2024.

Which six passive lines does a 24 V cabinet need, and how many Walsin parts meet each?
We built a six-line test for a 24 V DC offshore wind control cabinet and ran it against every row of Walsin’s exports. Five cells return parts. One returns nothing at the exact value. Two have a line on the Hong Kong shelf, as at 23 September 2026. The thresholds are ours and are stated in the first column, so you can repeat the count or change them.

The 61 bulk capacitors split 10 at 1206, 26 at 1210, 2 at 1812 and 23 at 2220; 55 are X7R and 6 are X5R. The 112 C0G parts split 29 at 1206, 54 at 1210 and 29 at 1812, with 98 of them at 1,000 V. The varistor count is the 11-rung D series from 11 to 40 Vac, 36 parts. We checked the unit on all 379 varistor rows: every one states its maximum working voltage in Vac, and none in Vdc. A 24 V DC rail needs a DC figure, so read it from the datasheet, which we do not hold for varistors. Our post on choosing an MOV varistor explains the gap.
Is there a Walsin 250 ohm resistor for a 4 to 20 mA loop?
No. We searched all 234,815 chip resistor rows for a resistance of exactly 250 ohm and found none. The E24 and E96 series do not contain 250, so no catalogue built on them will list it. The nearest value is 249 ohm, which has 262 part numbers across 8 resistor groups, 26 of them at plus or minus 0.1 percent or better, none of them on our shelf.
The 0.1 percent 249 ohm parts all sit in the High Precision Thick Film group. At 0805 the export lists five.

A 249 ohm shunt reads a 20 mA signal as 4.98 V, against 5.00 V at 250 ohm. Whether that is inside your error budget is your calculation, not ours. A parallel pair can reach other values; our post on power rating by case size covers the heating side.
What does a 10 uF 50 V capacitor look like in 1206 against 1210?
A 10 uF 50 V capacitor exists in both cases, but only the 1206 is X5R and on the shelf; the 1210 parts are X7R and none is stocked. Check the dielectric before the footprint, because it changes with the case.
