A search for a 1 uH inductor in Walsin’s export misses 28 of 80 rows, because the export writes the same value as 1000 nH on some and 1 uH on others. For a United Kingdom payment terminal, that is one of five test cells; 8 X5R 0402 capacitors at 4.7 uF or more exist, 3 on our Hong Kong shelf.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) parametric exports: 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers, 234,401 chip resistor part numbers, 93,914 thin-film resistors, 5,410 inductors and 44 antennas. This post is for a procurement or design engineer at a United Kingdom payment terminal, point-of-sale or contactless-reader maker who has a handheld-terminal bill of materials to second-source. Every part number is real, every count is ours, and the news item is dated and linked. We fetched it on 2 November 2026.
What did the Payment Systems Regulator publish about card fees on 30 July 2026?
The Payment Systems Regulator’s news page lists, dated 30 July 2026, the headline “PSR strengthens oversight of Mastercard and Visa as card fees review moves to implementation”. The listing shows the headline and date only. We read nothing beyond them, and the page says nothing about terminals, components or suppliers.
We use it only as dated context for a market where card acceptance is under regulatory attention. We draw no conclusion about which parts any terminal maker buys, or about costs.
| Point | What the source says | Source date | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subject | Oversight of Mastercard and Visa; card fees review | PSR news and updates, 30 July 2026 | Match for context only |
| Stage | Review “moves to implementation” | PSR news and updates, 30 July 2026 | Mismatch with any component claim: no part or volume is named |
| Terminals | Not stated | PSR news and updates, 30 July 2026 | No matching statement on the page |
How do you search a Walsin inductor export for 1 microhenry?
You search for it twice. We read the Unit column on all 5,410 inductor rows: 4,125 are in nH, 644 in uH and 641 in ohm, and 29 inductance values appear in both nH and uH spellings across 1,417 rows. The 1 uH value has 80 rows: 52 written as 1 uH and 28 written as 1000 nH. A filter on “1 uH” returns 52 and misses 28.
The same spread affects the 0.47 to 2.2 uH range that a contactless-reader matching network often needs. We found 265 parts in that range at plus or minus 5 percent or better, 228 written in nH and 37 in uH, across seven series.
| Walsin part | Series, size, value as exported, tolerance | Match / mismatch for a 1 uH search | Shelf |
|---|---|---|---|
WLFW2012Z0J1R0PB |
WLFW/WFI, 2012 (0805), 1 uH, 5% | Match on a “1 uH” filter | No |
WLCW2012Z0J1R0PB |
WLCW, 2012 (0805), 1000 nH, 5% | Mismatch on spelling; match on value | No |
WCI2012CP1R0J |
WCI, 2012 (0805), 1000 nH, 5% | Mismatch on spelling; match on value | No |
Q minimum is 23 on the WLCW and WCI rows and 20 on the WLFW row. The SRF(min) column mixes units: it reads 0.1 on the WLCW row and 100 on the WCI row for the same listed 170 mA, 0805, 1 uH, 5 percent part. Read both from the datasheet, which we can send for the families we hold.
Which five passive cells does a handheld terminal need, and how many Walsin parts meet each?
We built a five-cell test for a handheld payment terminal and ran it against every row of Walsin’s exports. All five cells return parts. Two have a line on the Hong Kong shelf, as at 23 September 2026. The thresholds are ours and are in the first column, so you can repeat the count.
| Requirement we tested | Walsin parts | On our shelf | Example part | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chip antenna with a 5 GHz band as well as 2.4 GHz | 2 | 0 | RFANT6050110L1T |
Match on bands; mismatch on size, 5.9 by 5.1 by 1.1 mm |
| X5R, 4.7 uF or more, 6.3 V or more, 0402 | 8 | 3 lines | 0402X475M6R3 |
Match on value, voltage; check the 0.50 mm thickness tolerance |
| Inductor, 0.47 to 2.2 uH, 5% or better | 265 | 0 | WLFW2012Z0J1R0PB |
Match; search both nH and uH |
| Resistor, 1 megohm, 1% or better, 0402 | 39 | 1 line | WR04X1004FTL |
Match on value, tolerance; 100 ppm, 1/16 W |
| Resistor, 0.1% or better with 25 ppm or better, 0402 | 4,559 | 0 | WF04R1002TTL |
Match on tolerance, TCR; all rows are 0.01% thin film |
The antenna cell is thin: of 44 antenna rows, 12 are chip antennas, 10 of them 2.4 to 2.5 GHz only and 2 of them dual band. The 4,559 precision resistors are all thin film in one series, and every one is plus or minus 0.01 percent; no 0402 part in the export sits at 0.1 percent with a 25 ppm coefficient. There is also no thin-film 1 megohm in 0402: we found 0 rows, so the 39 parts in that cell are all thick film. Our post on choosing a 2.4 GHz chip antenna covers the antenna side.
Which 0402 capacitors reach 4.7 uF at 6.3 V or more?
Eight distinct part numbers, all X5R general purpose: five at 4.7 uF, two at 10 uF and one at 22 uF. Three of the eight are on the Hong Kong shelf as at 23 September 2026: 0402X475M6R3, 0402X475M100 and 0402X226M6R3. The cell has no soft-termination or automotive part, so a terminal that drops onto a counter needs a different choice.
| Walsin part | Dielectric, value, tolerance, voltage | Match / mismatch | Shelf |
|---|---|---|---|
0402X475M6R3 |
X5R, 4.7 uF, 20%, 6.3 V | Reference | Yes |
0402X475M100 |
X5R, 4.7 uF, 20%, 10 V | Match on value; mismatch on voltage, higher | Yes |
0402X226M6R3 |
X5R, 22 uF, 20%, 6.3 V | Mismatch on value, 4.7 times higher | Yes |
0402X106M6R3 |
X5R, 10 uF, 20%, 6.3 V | Mismatch on value | No |
Capacitance falls with applied voltage, and a 6.3 V part on a 3.3 V rail loses less than on a 5 V rail. Our post on MLCC DC bias and voltage derating shows how to read it.
What will we not tell you about the United Kingdom?
Anything about UK payment rules, card scheme requirements, terminal approvals or product conformity. We hold no office, entity or stock in the United Kingdom; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty, border procedure, transit time or carrier, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team. We make no claim that any Walsin part meets a payment security standard. The documents we hold do not state one.
Why buyers in the United Kingdom choose Venatech
Buyers in the United Kingdom choose Venatech because we are good at the part of sourcing that eats an engineer’s week: finding a second source and being honest about it. Every point below is checkable.
- We are an authorised Walsin distributor. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong. Confirm it with Walsin. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.
- We show the mismatches as well as the matches. VenaMatch, our free cross-reference tool, decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with every differing field stated. That honesty is the product.
- We cover a wide range. The Walsin exports we work from hold 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers, 234,401 chip resistor part numbers, 93,914 thin-film resistors, 5,410 inductors, 929 disc capacitors, 457 RF parts, 379 varistors and 44 antennas.
- Small lots are welcome. We work from Hong Kong and talk to a buyer who needs one reel as readily as one who needs a pallet. Request a quote through the site.
- We tell you what the paper does not say. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the one for your part on request. Where a document is not in what we hold, we say so.
- We find the filter trap before it finds you. A 1 uH search that misses 28 of 80 rows is exactly the kind of gap that sends a buyer to the wrong conclusion. We counted it, we publish it, and the cross-reference tool is built to look past the spelling.
How can Venatech help a United Kingdom payment terminal buyer?
Start with the cross-reference. Paste your incumbent part into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields. For a whole list, upload it to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots.
A worked example from our own exports: a 4.7 uF, 20 percent, 6.3 V, X5R line in 0402 maps to 0402X475M6R3, stocked; the 10 V sibling 0402X475M100 is also stocked and differs in voltage only. Our MLCC range lists the families. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949, and qualification stays with you. Request a quote through the site and tell us your country and quantity.
The short version
A five-cell handheld terminal test returned Walsin parts in every cell: 2 dual-band chip antennas, 8 X5R 0402 capacitors at 4.7 uF or more, 265 inductors from 0.47 to 2.2 uH, 39 resistors at 1 megohm and 4,559 precision resistors, all 0.01 percent. A 1 uH search misses 28 of 80 inductor rows because of the nH and uH spellings. Two cells have a shelf line as at 23 September 2026.
Send us one line from your terminal bill of materials and we will return the Walsin candidates with the differences stated. Which of your five cells would you want us to test first?

Frequently asked questions
Why does a 1 uH inductor search miss Walsin parts?
The export writes some 1 uH inductors as 1000 nH. Of 80 rows at that value, 52 say 1 uH and 28 say 1000 nH, so a filter on one spelling misses the other. In all, 29 inductance values appear in both units across 1,417 rows.
How many Walsin chip antennas cover 5 GHz?
Two. Of 44 antenna rows, 12 are chip antennas; 10 cover 2.4 to 2.5 GHz only and 2 add 4.9 to 5.9 GHz, at 5.9 by 5.1 by 1.1 mm. Neither is on our Hong Kong shelf as at 23 September 2026.
Is there a 0.1 percent 25 ppm resistor in 0402?
Only as 0.01 percent. We found 4,559 thin-film 0402 rows at 0.1 percent or better with 25 ppm or better, and every one is 0.01 percent. The 1 megohm value has no thin-film 0402 row, only 39 thick-film parts.
Did the PSR page say anything about components?
No. The 30 July 2026 listing shows a headline about oversight of Mastercard and Visa and a card fees review moving to implementation. It names no terminals, components or suppliers, and we draw no conclusion about purchasing.
Do you hold UK stock or payment approvals?
No. We hold no office, entity or stock in the United Kingdom, and no Walsin document in our 28 states a payment-terminal qualification. We give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team. Qualification stays with you.
How do I get a quote for a small lot?
Paste your part into the free cross-reference tool or upload up to 500 part numbers to the BOM checker, then request a quote through the site. We work from Hong Kong and welcome small lots. The ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, not live.
