Walsin reel dimensions are not one table. We read the reel table on 26 of the 28 datasheets we hold, found three sets of symbols, and counted seven different specifications of the 13-inch reel. A Hungarian SMT line loading a 10-inch reel gets 250.0 mm outer diameter from the capacitor sheets and 254.0 mm from both resistor sheets.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds 28 Walsin Technology (Walsin) datasheets, 451 pages. A line in Hungary that feeds both Walsin capacitors and Walsin resistors from one reel holder does not read 26 tables; it reads the one on the sheet in front of it. We read all 26 and recorded outer diameter, hub, width and tolerance for every reel size each sheet states. Every part number below is real and checked against our master set. We will not tell you two reels are the same size. We will show you where the sheets differ.
How many Walsin datasheets publish reel dimensions, and in which symbols?
26 of 28, in three sets of symbols. We opened every sheet. All 24 MLCC series sheets and both resistor sheets print a reel table. The application guide and the catalogue do not, in the text we extracted. The symbols are not shared: 22 capacitor sheets use A, N, C and W1; the two Mega Cap sheets use A, B, C and T; the two resistor sheets use A, B, C and D.
| Reel table | Sheets | Symbols used | Reel sizes stated | Example part | Match / mismatch against the General Purpose table |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| General Purpose and 19 other capacitor series | 20 | A, N, C, W1 | 7″, 10″, 13″ or a subset | 0603B104K500 |
reference |
| Ultra-small 01R5 and Feed-Through FT | 2 | A, N, C, W1 | 7″ only | 01R5B101K100 |
Match on symbols, mismatch — no 10″ or 13″ |
| Mega Cap M and V | 2 | A, B, C, T | 13″ only | none quoted | Mismatch — different symbols, no hub diameter, no width W1 |
| WR and MR resistors | 2 | A, B, C, D | 7″, 10″, 13″ | WR06X1002FTL, MR10X1002FTL |
Mismatch — different symbols, 10″ and hub differ (below) |
| Application guide and catalogue | 2 | none found | none | — | Mismatch — no table in the text we extracted |
We have not seen this counted anywhere: 26 reel tables, 3 symbol sets, and no sheet that tells you how to translate one into another.
Is a Walsin 10-inch reel 250.0 mm or 254.0 mm?
Both. Twelve capacitor sheets give the 10-inch outer diameter as 250.0±2.0 mm, the SG sheet as 250.0±1.0 mm, and both resistor sheets as 254.0±2.0 mm. Ten inches is exactly 254.0 mm. The capacitor sheets use a rounded 250.
| Sheet group | Sheets stating a 10″ reel | Outer diameter A | Hub (N or B) | Example part | Match / mismatch against 254.0 mm |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| General Purpose, Middle and High Voltage, Surface Coating, RT, HH, MT, ST, VT, MG, HT, SH, TT | 12 | 250.0±2.0 | 50 min | 0603B104K500, MT15N101K500 |
Mismatch — 4.0 mm smaller |
| SG soft termination | 1 | 250.0±1.0 | 100.0±1.0 | SG18B102K500 |
Mismatch — 4.0 mm smaller, tighter tolerance |
| WR and MR resistors | 2 | 254.0±2.0 | B = 100.0±1.0 | WR06X1002FTL, MR10X1002FTL |

Fifteen sheets state a 10-inch reel at all. The two tolerance bands touch at exactly one value: 250.0+2.0 is 252.0, and 254.0−2.0 is 252.0. Whether your reel holder tolerates that is a drawing question, not a datasheet one. The reel quantities that go with each size are in the reel-quantity audit of the MLCC sheets and the resistor packaging column.
How many different ways is the 13-inch reel specified?
Seven. We tabulated outer diameter, hub, flange width and the C dimension for every 13-inch reel on every sheet. 24 sheets state a 13-inch reel, and they use 7 distinct specifications. The common one covers 15 sheets. The other six each cover between one and three.
| Specification of the 13″ reel | Outer diameter | Hub | C | Width | Sheets | Match / mismatch against the common one |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common capacitor paper tape | 330.0±2.0 | 50 min | 13.0±0.5 | W1 10.0±1.5 | 15 | reference |
| Large size 1825 to 2225 | 330.0±1.0 | 100±1.0 | 13.0±0.5 | W1 12.2+2.0/-0 | 1 | Mismatch on four fields |
| Safety S2, S2-H and S3 | 330.0±1.0 | 100±1.0 | 13.0+0.5/-0.2 | W1 12.4+2.0/-0 | 3 | Mismatch on four fields |
| SG soft termination | 330.0±1.0 | 100±1.0 | 13.0+0.5/-0.2 | W1 8.4+1.5/-0 | 1 | Mismatch — the narrowest flange we found |
| Plastic tape, 1808 to 2225 on ST, VT, SH | 330.0±2.0 | 100.0±2.0 | 13.0±0.5 | W1 12.4+2.0/-0 | 3 | Mismatch on hub and width |
| Mega Cap M and V | 330.0±0.50 | none | 13.00+0.50/-0.20 | T 2.00+0.50/-0.20 | 2 | Mismatch — no hub, no W1 |
| WR and MR resistors | 330.0±2.0 | B 100.0±1.0 | 13.0±0.2 | D 9.0±0.5 | 2 | Mismatch on hub, C and width |
The ST, VT and SH sheets appear twice: they print a paper-tape reel in the common specification and a plastic-tape reel in a second one. That is why 24 sheets give 27 table columns. The SG flange width is the extreme: 8.4 mm minimum on all three of its paper reels against 10.0 mm on the common sheets.
Does the letter B mean the same thing on every Walsin reel table?
No. B is a 100.0 mm hub on the resistor sheets and a 2.00 mm dimension on the Mega Cap sheets. On the 22 capacitor sheets that use A, N, C and W1 the hub is N. The resistor sheets reuse B for it and add D, which the sheets do not define; the Mega Cap sheets use B for a 2.00±0.50 mm dimension we cannot translate to a hub.
| Symbol | Capacitor sheets (A, N, C, W1) | Mega Cap sheets (A, B, C, T) | Resistor sheets (A, B, C, D) | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | outer diameter | 330.0±0.50 | outer diameter | Match |
| B | not used | 2.00±0.50 | 60.0±1.0 at 7″, 100.0±1.0 at 10″ and 13″ | Mismatch — 2.00 vs 100.0 |
| N | hub, 60.0+1.0/-0 at 7″ | not used | not used | capacitor only |
| W1 / D / T | W1 10.0±1.5 and others | T 2.00+0.50/-0.20 | D 9.0±0.5 | Mismatch — three letters for one idea |
Do the 7-inch reels agree across the sheets?
Almost. Twenty-four sheets state a 7-inch reel. All give 178.0 mm outer diameter; 19 give a tolerance of ±2.0 and 5 give ±1.0. The hub is 60.0+1.0/-0 on 22 capacitor sheets and 60.0±1.0 on both resistor sheets. That is the only reel size where the sheets agree on the number, and they still disagree on the tolerance.
The five ±1.0 sheets are the Large Size sheet, the three safety sheets and SG. The C dimension has the same split: 13.0±0.5 on most sheets, 13.0+0.5/-0.2 on SG and the safety sheets, and 13.0±0.2 on the resistors. Large Size prints both inside one table: 13.0+0.5/-0.2 for its 7-inch reel and 13.0±0.5 for its 13-inch reel.
What should a Hungarian SMT line check before it loads a Walsin reel?
Check the sheet, then the symbol set, then the reel size. A line that loads capacitors and resistors from the same holder is reading two tables that disagree on 10-inch diameter by 4.0 mm and on the letter B by 98 mm. Three checks follow from what we counted.
- Match the sheet to the part number first. Of the 24 sheets with a 13-inch reel, 15 share one specification; the other 9 do not.
- Do not translate letters between sheets. B is 100.0 on one family and 2.00 on another.
- For a 10-inch reel, take the diameter from the sheet that covers that part. 250.0 and 254.0 are both printed.
We hold 28 datasheets, 451 pages, and send the one covering your part number on request. We hold no reel drawing for thin film, inductor, varistor, disc capacitor, RF or antenna parts. For related packaging pages see the WR and MR comparison. What is in Hong Kong is on ready stock — 1,125 part numbers as at 23 September 2026, a dated snapshot and not a live feed. To cross a part first, use the free cross-reference tool. The capacitor range sits on the MLCC page.
The short version
26 of 28 sheets print a reel table, in 3 symbol sets. The 10-inch reel is 250.0 mm on 13 capacitor sheets and 254.0 mm on both resistor sheets. The 13-inch reel is specified 7 ways across 24 sheets, 15 of them sharing the common one. B is 100.0 mm on resistors and 2.00 mm on Mega Cap. The 7-inch reel is 178.0 mm on all 24 sheets that state it, with two tolerances. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own line.
Send us the reel size and the part number you load, and we will name the sheet that governs it. And a question back: when did your reel holder last get checked against the datasheet rather than the last reel?
Frequently asked questions
How many Walsin datasheets publish reel dimensions?
26 of the 28 we hold. All 24 MLCC series sheets and both resistor sheets print a reel table. The application guide and the catalogue do not, in the text we extracted. The 26 tables use three sets of symbols: A, N, C and W1 on 22 sheets, A, B, C and T on two, and A, B, C and D on two.
Is a Walsin 10-inch reel 250 mm or 254 mm?
Both appear. Twelve capacitor sheets print 250.0 mm with a tolerance of 2.0, SG prints 250.0 with a tolerance of 1.0, and both resistor sheets print 254.0 mm with a tolerance of 2.0. Ten inches is exactly 254.0 mm, so the capacitor sheets round down by 4.0 mm.
How many ways is the Walsin 13-inch reel specified?
Seven distinct specifications across 24 sheets, counting outer diameter, hub, C dimension and width together. The most common covers 15 capacitor sheets: 330.0 mm outer diameter, hub 50 minimum, 10.0 mm width. The others differ in hub, tolerance or width, and the Mega Cap and resistor sheets use different symbols altogether.
What does the letter B mean on a Walsin reel table?
It depends on the sheet. On the resistor sheets B is 60.0 mm at 7 inches and 100.0 mm at 10 and 13 inches, which we read as the hub. On the two Mega Cap sheets B is 2.00 mm. The capacitor sheets call the hub N instead. Do not translate letters between sheets.
Do all Walsin 7-inch reels have the same outer diameter?
On the 24 sheets that state one, yes: 178.0 mm. The tolerance differs. Nineteen sheets give 2.0 and five give 1.0, namely Large Size, the three safety sheets and SG. The hub is 60.0 mm on all of them, with plus 1.0 minus 0 on capacitors and plus or minus 1.0 on resistors.
Does Venatech hold a reel drawing for my part in Hungary?
We hold the reel tables printed in 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the one covering your part number to a Hungarian line on request. We hold no datasheet for thin film, inductor, varistor, disc capacitor, RF or antenna parts, so for those the reel format must be confirmed with Walsin directly.
