Sourcing Passive Components for Israel from Hong Kong: Hardware Output Rose 20.7% in 2025, and Our 0603 Shelf Holds 50 of 169 E24 Resistor Values Against 28 of 630 E96-Only Values

Passive components for Israel from Hong Kong start with a count, not a claim. The Israel Innovation Authority reports that hardware output grew 20.7% in 2025. We parsed the Walsin 0603 general purpose 1% resistor list: our shelf holds 50 of its 169 E24 values and 28 of its 630 E96-only values, as at 23 September 2026.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor exports: 137 files, 234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers. This playbook is for an Israeli hardware maker, scale-up or contract manufacturer who wants to know what a Hong Kong source can and cannot put in writing. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Each statement about Israel names its source and the day we fetched it, 21 October 2026.

What does an Israeli hardware maker need from a Hong Kong distributor?

A second source you can see, and a bill of materials that a second source can actually fill. The Israel Innovation Authority’s 2026 report puts high-tech industry employment, its hardware side, at 119,000 people in 2025, up 8.9%, and job openings in that part of the sector at 3,600 in February 2026. Teams growing that fast tend to accumulate resistor values faster than they retire them.

That is our reading, not the report’s. The report does not discuss component sourcing. What we can offer is a Hong Kong ready-stock list, a free cross-reference tool and a straight answer on which resistor values are on the shelf. Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size covers the size choice that comes first, and the chip resistor range lists the families.

What do the Israel Innovation Authority’s 2026 figures say about hardware?

Three things, and each is narrow. The press release of 31 May 2026 says manufacture of computers, electronic and optical equipment added about 16 billion shekels of output in 2025, against annual increases of no more than 1.5 billion in 2022 to 2024; the full report puts the growth at 20.7%. We read both documents in full before writing this section.

Point What the source says Source date What it means for a component buyer Match / mismatch
Hardware output Computers, electronic and optical equipment output up 20.7% in 2025, about 16 billion shekels added Press release 31 May 2026; report PDF in the same month Context only: the source names no component and no shortage Mismatch with any demand claim: no volume for parts is given
Hardware workforce High-tech industry employment 119,000, up 8.9%; research roles up 11.9% to 25,000 Report, data to March 2026 More designers means more board revisions, which is our reading Match for direction of hiring; mismatch for parts: none named
Exports High-tech exports about 85 billion US dollars, 58% of Israeli exports; goods rose only 1 billion over ten years Press release 31 May 2026 and report Services dominate exports; hardware is a smaller, faster-moving slice Mismatch if you assume hardware drives the export total

Our view, labelled as ours: none of these figures says an Israeli maker is short of any part, and we imply none. Whether a board needs a different resistor is for its design owner. Confirm any regulatory or trade point with your compliance team.

How much of the E24 resistor grid does our shelf cover?

About three in ten at 0603, and under one in twenty beyond it. We counted the Walsin general purpose thick film series at 1% in four sizes. Each size lists 799 distinct resistance values: 169 on the E24 series and 630 on E96 only. At 0603 our 23 September 2026 shelf holds 50 of the 169 E24 values (29.6%) and 28 of the 630 E96-only values (4.4%).

An E24 value is 6.7 times more likely to be on the 0603 shelf than an E96-only one. We have not seen this counted anywhere. The measure is distinct resistance values, not part numbers, so a value listed twice counts once.

Case size E24 values listed E24 values on shelf E96-only values listed E96-only values on shelf Match / mismatch with an E24 bill of materials
0402 169 40 (23.7%) 630 13 (2.1%) Mismatch: 129 E24 values not stocked
0603 169 50 (29.6%) 630 28 (4.4%) Mismatch: 119 E24 values not stocked
0805 169 17 (10.1%) 630 2 (0.3%) Mismatch: 152 E24 values not stocked
1206 169 13 (7.7%) 630 2 (0.3%) Mismatch: 156 E24 values not stocked

So the practical rule is a design one. If you can land a pull-up, divider or sense value on E24 at 0603, there is a good chance the Hong Kong shelf already holds it. If the schematic says 10.2 kilohm, there is almost none. The shelf is a dated snapshot and moves; the ready-stock page shows the list as it stands.

Which Walsin 0603 resistor values cross cleanly, and which do not?

Take a 10 kilohm line. WR06X1002FTL is a general purpose 0603, 10,000 ohm, plus or minus 1%, 1/10 W, up to 100 ppm part, and we hold it; the E24 neighbours WR06X1202FTL and WR06X4702FTL exist in the export and are not on our shelf. All three share size, tolerance, power and TCR; they differ only in value.

Walsin part Fields On shelf, 23 Sept 2026 Your incumbent part Match / mismatch
WR06X1002FTL 0603, 10 kilohm, E24, 1%, 1/10 W Yes ___ Match on size, tolerance, power; value is yours to check
WR06X1001FTL 0603, 1 kilohm, E24, 1%, 1/10 W Yes ___ Mismatch if your divider needs 10 kilohm
WR06X1202FTL 0603, 12 kilohm, E24, 1%, 1/10 W No ___ Match on four fields; mismatch on availability
WR06X4702FTL 0603, 47 kilohm, E24, 1%, 1/10 W No ___ Mismatch on availability; same family
WR06X4991FTL 0603, 4.99 kilohm, E96 only, 1%, 1/10 W Yes ___ Mismatch if your incumbent is E24 4.7 kilohm
WR06X1022FTL 0603, 10.2 kilohm, E96 only, 1%, 1/10 W No ___ Mismatch on availability; a rare value
MR06X1002FTL 0603, 10 kilohm, E24, 1%, 1/8 W, automotive series No ___ Mismatch: rated power differs and it is a different series

Fill the incumbent column yourself, field by field. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit. A Match is a statement about the fields shown and nothing more. Our post on tolerance, TCR and dielectric codes explains how to read the rest of the part number.

What will we not tell you about Israeli import?

Anything operational. We state no duty rate, tariff code, customs procedure, licence requirement, transit time, freight cost or carrier for Israel, and we hold no office, entity or stock there. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. Your forwarder, customs broker and compliance team own that side, and we give no legal advice. We also hold no ISO 9001 certificate and make no qualification claim.

How Venatech helps

Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load a whole BOM to run every line, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026 and is never live-synced.

Worked example from our own export: the 799-value list per size is one query, and the 50 stocked 0603 E24 values are the overlap with our list. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, we help with cross-referencing, and quotes are requested through the site. The 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, we hold are sent on request.

The short version

Israel’s hardware output grew 20.7% in 2025 by the Innovation Authority’s count, and the same report names no component. The useful number for a buyer is ours: at 0603 and 1%, the shelf holds 29.6% of the E24 grid and 4.4% of the E96-only grid. Move a value to E24 where the circuit allows and the Hong Kong list is far more likely to fill it.

Send us ten resistor lines from your Israeli build that you have never been able to source twice, and we will return the Walsin parts with the differences stated. How many of your resistor values are on E96 because the schematic needed it, and how many because nobody checked?
