Solar Inverter Electronics for Pakistan from Hong Kong: Only 19 of 233 Walsin 1 kV X7R Part Numbers Are on Our Shelf and the Shelf Stops at 15 nF

Solar inverter electronics for Pakistan often need a 1 kV capacitor on the DC side, and few are on a shelf. We parsed the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC export: 233 distinct X7R part numbers are rated 1000 Vdc in the Middle to High Voltage series. Our Hong Kong list holds 19 of them, and none above 15 nF.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx) of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or sourcing engineer at a Pakistani inverter assembler or solar integrator who needs a high-voltage ceramic and has a small lot to find. Every part number is real, every count is ours, and every news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.

What changed for Pakistan’s solar market and inverter costs in 2026?

A tariff shift and a tax debate, both unsettled in the sources we found. pv magazine reported on 11 May 2026 that Pakistan’s regulator approved a move from net metering to net billing in February 2026, with a retroactive rate cut that drew an immediate public outcry, and on 10 June 2026 that the 2026/27 budget was considering raising sales tax on solar modules from 10 percent to 18 percent while the solar association asked for sales tax and import duty on inverters to be removed.

The first report adds that roughly 16 GW of solar imports from China entered Pakistan in 2024, and attributes the policy trouble to high electricity tariffs and a shrinking base of paying customers. On 11 June 2026 the Pakistan Observer reported that the module tax rise had reportedly been dropped after an intervention, and said the outcome was not yet final. A KPMG note says the Finance Act 2026 was passed by the National Assembly on 26 June 2026, received assent on 27 June and takes effect on 1 July 2026; the page we fetched gives no solar detail. We could not confirm from these sources what became of the duty on inverters.

Our view, labelled as ours: with net billing paying less for exports, a buyer values self-consumption and storage, and the DC-side parts of an inverter matter more than they did. We have no relationship with any Pakistani installer or distributor.

How many Walsin 1 kV X7R parts are there, and which cross a 10 nF bus or snubber brief?

Two hundred and thirty-three in the series that matters. We parsed the Middle to High Voltage series (200 V to 4 kV): 233 distinct X7R part numbers are rated 1000 Vdc (258 rows, because 25 rows repeat a part number), spread over five sizes (70 at 1206, 46 at 1812, 43 at 1210, 42 at 1808, 32 at 0805), and the largest value is 100 nF at 1812. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

Take a brief of X7R, 1000 Vdc, 10 nF, plus or minus 10 percent, 1206. Our posts on MLCC DC bias and voltage derating and on NP0, X7R and X5R dielectrics explain why an X7R part at 1 kV delivers less than its nominal capacitance, and why a nominal 10 nF is a starting point, not a result.

Walsin part Size, capacitance, tolerance, voltage On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch with the brief Your incumbent
1206B103K102 1206, 10 nF, plus or minus 10%, 1000 Vdc Yes Match on size, dielectric, value, tolerance, voltage
1206B103J102 1206, 10 nF, plus or minus 5%, 1000 Vdc No Mismatch: tighter tolerance
1206B103M102 1206, 10 nF, plus or minus 20%, 1000 Vdc No Mismatch: wider tolerance
1210B103K102 1210, 10 nF, plus or minus 10%, 1000 Vdc No Mismatch: 1210 body, larger than 1206
0805B103K102 0805, 10 nF, plus or minus 10%, 1000 Vdc No Mismatch: 0805 body, smaller than 1206
1210B153K102 1210, 15 nF, plus or minus 10%, 1000 Vdc Yes Mismatch: 15 nF, 1210 body

Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit. We hold the Middle and High Voltage approval sheet, and the export lists only a rated voltage, not a working-voltage derating, so read the sheet for the part you buy.

What does a Hong Kong shelf hold at 1 kV?

Nineteen of the 233, topping out at 15 nF. Our stock list as at 23 September 2026 holds 1,125 distinct codes, 864 of them MLCC; 19 are Middle to High Voltage X7R parts at 1000 Vdc, 8.2 percent of the 233, and the largest value on the list is 15 nF in 1210B153K102, against 47 nF at 1210 and 100 nF at 1812 in the export.

So a 22 nF, 47 nF or 100 nF requirement at 1 kV is a quote, not a shelf pick. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced; a quote is requested through the site. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock explains how to read the list, and the MLCC range lists the families. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request.

What will we not tell you about inverter design and import rules?

Anything about whether a design is safe, certified or importable. We make no claim that a Walsin capacitor suits a photovoltaic inverter, the word solar appears in none of the 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, and we hold no ISO 9001 certificate.

We hold no office, entity or stock in Pakistan; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs, tax or conformity advice. Confirm with your compliance team. Qualification stays with you.

How Venatech helps: what can you do with a high-voltage line today?

Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load the inverter bill of materials into the BOM check, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026.

Worked example from our own export: the 10 nF, 1000 Vdc, X7R filter above returned 5 sizes in the series, 15 part numbers across tolerances, and our shelf holds 1 of the 10 nF ones. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and a quote is requested through the site.

The short version

For a Pakistani inverter assembler, the 1 kV line is a small-lot problem: 233 candidates, 19 on our list, and a shelf ceiling of 15 nF against 100 nF in the export.

Send us the 1 kV lines of one inverter BOM and we will return the Walsin candidates with the differences stated. If your net-billing economics change your design every quarter, how long can you wait for a high-voltage part?
