Mining Equipment Electronics for Papua New Guinea from Hong Kong: A 100 Kilohm, 1%, 2512 Resistor Line Finds 19 Walsin Rows in 12 Series Names, Only 2 List 3 W, and Every One of the 1,866 Rows That Do Is a 2512

Mining equipment electronics for Papua New Guinea often need a 2512 power resistor in a control or braking circuit. We searched the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor export for a 100 kilohm, plus or minus 1%, 2512 line: 19 rows in 12 series names, only 2 listing 3 W, and none on our Hong Kong shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin chip resistor export of 234,815 rows and a ready-stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or procurement engineer at a Papua New Guinean mine contractor, equipment workshop or electrical supplier who has a power resistor on a bill of materials and wants a second source in small lots from Hong Kong. Every Walsin part number is real, every count is ours, and the news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.

What do Ok Tedi’s 2025 results say that matters to a Papua New Guinea electronics buyer?

They show a large, continuing mining operation that depends on its power supply. Ok Tedi Mining’s results release for 2025, fetched on 2 November 2026, reports 106,018 tonnes of copper, 298,350 ounces of gold and 1,008,346 ounces of silver, and a dividend of 1 billion kina, which it gives as 240 million US dollars; it also mentions power-related disruptions during the year.

The page we fetched carries no publication date and describes the figures as 2025 results, so we date nothing beyond our own fetch. It names no component, equipment make or supplier, so we draw no link between it and any part number. Our view, labelled as ours: a site that reports power-related disruptions values every drive, starter and protection board that behaves predictably, and a power resistor is one of the plainest parts on such a board. We have no relationship with Ok Tedi or any Papua New Guinean mine.

Which Walsin rows answer a 100 kilohm, 1%, 2512 line?

Nineteen, across 12 series names in 4 families, and the wattage is the only field that splits them cleanly. We parsed all 22,154 Walsin 2512 rows and found 19 at 100 kilohm and plus or minus 1%, under 12 series names: 11 listed at 1 W, 6 at 2 W and 2 at 3 W. We have not seen this line counted anywhere.

The 3 W pair is WF25A1003FZL and its automotive-labelled twin WF25A1003FZLJ, both in the High Power series. The 2 W group is the High Power and anti-surge parts, and the 1 W group is general purpose and high voltage. Our post on chip resistor power rating by case size explains why the case does not fix the wattage.

How do the 19 rows compare with a 3 W, 100 kilohm, 2512 line?

Two match on power and the rest trade it away. The table sets six of the 19 against a 3 W, 100 kilohm, plus or minus 1%, 2512 line.

Walsin part Series as exported Power, TCR On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch against a 3 W, 100 kilohm, 1%, 2512 line
WF25A1003FZL Thick film high power 3 W, 100 ppm or better No Match on value, tolerance, case, power and TCR class
WF25A1003FZLJ Thick film high power (automotive label) 3 W, 100 ppm or better No Match on electrical fields; mismatch on the J grade suffix
WF25P1003FTL Thick film high power 2 W, 100 ppm or better No Mismatch: power, 2 W against 3 W
WF25P1003FTLV Thick film high power (anti-sulfuration) 2 W, 100 ppm or better No Mismatch: power and protective grade
WR25X1003FTL Thick film general purpose 1 W, 100 ppm or better No Mismatch: power, 1 W against 3 W
WF25N1003FTL Thick film high voltage, UL safety certification series 1 W, 100 ppm or better No Mismatch: power and series purpose

The 3 W and 2 W high-power rows cover exactly the same 685 resistance values in the 2512 at plus or minus 1%, so the value is available at either power; the ordering code, FZL against FTL, changes, and the power is what you give up. Our chip resistor range lists the families.

Why is 3 W so rare in the Walsin export?

Because the export lists 3 W only in one case size. We counted every chip resistor row in the export that lists 3 W and found 1,866, and all 1,866 are 2512; no 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210 or 2010 row lists 3 W.

Of those, 1,662 are High Power series rows, 156 are metal low-ohm current-sense rows and 48 are thick-film low-ohm current-sense rows; at plus or minus 1% the High Power rows run from 1 ohm to 1 megohm. A designer who needs 3 W in a smaller body will not find it in this export, and a designer who needs it in a 2512 has 685 resistance values to choose from at plus or minus 1%. Our post on low-ohm current sense, thick film against metal covers the sense rows.

What does the Hong Kong shelf hold for this line?

None of the 19. As at 23 September 2026 our list holds 1,125 distinct part numbers, 254 of them chip resistors, and the only 2512 among them is WR25X3301FTL, a general-purpose 3.3 kilohm, 1 W part, so no 100 kilohm candidate is on the shelf.

A 3 W part is therefore a factory order, requested through the site. The ready stock list is a dated snapshot, never live-synced, and we quote part-number counts, never piece counts. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock explains how to read it.

What will we not tell you about mine-site resistors?

Anything about a mine, a duty cycle or a climate. We searched the text of all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, for mining, outdoor, tropic and salt and found 0 matches, and we hold 2 chip resistor datasheets, WR and MR, none for the High Power series.

The WR sheet we hold is ASC_WR_V24, dated September 2016, so we say plainly that it is ten years old. We therefore cannot give you a pulse rating, a derating curve or a working voltage for any of the 19 rows; the export carries none. We hold no office, entity or stock in Papua New Guinea; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team.

Why do buyers in Papua New Guinea choose Venatech?

Because we show a Papua New Guinean buyer the mismatches as well as the matches, and we can prove the rest: 28 Walsin datasheets held, 451 pages, and one named authorised line. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong; Walsin is our only authorised line, and Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We confirm nothing we cannot show.

Papua New Guinean buyers often order a handful of spares for equipment already in the field, and we are comfortable with that scale. For a power-resistor line:

  • We name the wattage trade-offs. In the 100 kilohm 2512 cell we found 19 rows and 2 at 3 W, and you see the 1 W and 2 W alternatives marked mismatch before you commit.
  • We tell you what the sheet does not hold. We hold no datasheet for the High Power series, and we say so instead of quoting a rating.

  • Hong Kong-based service, small lots welcome. A prototype or pilot quantity is a normal order for us, requested through the site.

  • Breadth you can count. Our Walsin extracts (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_MOV_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_DiscCap_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx and the chip-resistor, thin-film and RF files) hold 359,135 distinct part numbers, and the VenaMatch tool covers 800,000+ crossable parts.
  • Honest cross-referencing. Every candidate is shown with each field marked match or mismatch, so you see the gap before you lay out a board.
  • Checkable credentials. We are an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong, which you can confirm with Walsin. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the relevant one on request.

How can Venatech help a Papua New Guinean buyer with a mine-site power resistor line?

By showing the differences instead of hiding them, across 800,000+ crossable parts, in small lots. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.

  • Cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch.
  • BOM check. Upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file.
  • Ready stock. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, not live.
  • Service. Hong Kong-based, small lots, help with cross-referencing by hand when the tool returns no clean candidate, and a quote requested through the site.

Worked example from our own export: a 100 kilohm, plus or minus 1%, 3 W, 2512 power resistor maps to WF25A1003FZL, with WF25A1003FZLJ for the automotive-labelled version, and to nothing exact if you will accept neither 2 W nor 1 W. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

The short version

For a Papua New Guinean mining buyer, a 100 kilohm, plus or minus 1%, 2512 line finds 19 Walsin rows in 12 series names and only 2 at 3 W, and every 3 W row in the whole chip resistor export is a 2512. None of the 19 is on the Hong Kong shelf.

Paste one power resistor from a starter, drive or braking board into the free cross-reference tool, or upload the board to /bom/, and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated and the stock position named. If your circuit needs 3 W at 100 kilohm, can it live with 2 W and a derating margin you choose?

Frequently asked questions

What did Ok Tedi report for 2025?

Ok Tedi’s release, fetched on 2 November 2026, reports 106,018 tonnes of copper, 298,350 ounces of gold, 1,008,346 ounces of silver and a 1 billion kina dividend, and mentions power-related disruptions. The page carries no date, and it names no component.

How many Walsin 2512 rows match 100 kilohm and plus or minus 1%?

We counted 19 in the 22,154-row 2512 set: 11 at 1 W, 6 at 2 W and 2 at 3 W, under 12 series names in 4 families. The 3 W pair is WF25A1003FZL and its automotive-labelled twin WF25A1003FZLJ.

Is 3 W only available in 2512?

In the Walsin chip resistor export we hold, yes. All 1,866 rows listing 3 W are 2512, and no other case size lists it. This is a statement about the export, so confirm the rating on Walsin’s own site.

Can a 2 W Walsin part replace a 3 W one?

Only if your circuit allows it. The 2 W and 3 W high-power rows cover the same 685 resistance values at plus or minus 1% in 2512, so the value is available, but the power is lower. That is a design decision that stays with you.

Is any 100 kilohm 2512 candidate on the Hong Kong shelf?

No. As at 23 September 2026 the only 2512 on our list is a 3.3 kilohm, 1 W general-purpose part, so each candidate is a quote requested through the site. The list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced.

Does Venatech have an office in Papua New Guinea?

No. We hold no office, entity or stock in Papua New Guinea. Venatech Limited is based in Hong Kong with locations in Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and Chengdu in preparation. We serve Papua New Guinean buyers from Hong Kong in small lots.
