Solar-diesel hybrid controller electronics for Fiji lean on 10 microfarad to 47 microfarad ceramics at 16 V and 25 V. We counted Walsin Technology (Walsin) X5R in 1206 and 1210 at those two voltages: 51 rows, 49 distinct part numbers, two codes listed twice, and none of the 49 is on our Hong Kong shelf.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a ready-stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or procurement engineer at a Fijian integrator, utility contractor or resort engineering team who has a controller, gate-driver or auxiliary-supply board for a solar-diesel hybrid plant and wants a second source in small lots from Hong Kong. Every Walsin part number below is real, every count is ours, and the one news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.
What does the September 2026 Yaqara solar and battery agreement mean for a Fijian electronics buyer?
A bigger solar-and-battery plan means more hybrid-plant control boards to build and maintain. ESS News reported on 7 September 2026 that Energy Fiji Limited signed a memorandum of understanding with Australia’s EPC Renewables and Spain’s Grupo Cobra for the Yaqara project: 22 MW of solar with a 40 MWh battery in stage 1, then 120 MW with 200 MWh in stage 2, a total of 142 MW and 240 MWh, aimed at cutting reliance on imported diesel.
The article puts Energy Fiji’s renewable share at about 49% today, with targets of 60% by 2029 and 90% by 2035, a power purchase agreement targeted by the first quarter of 2027 and commercial operation by the first quarter of 2029 at the latest. It does not name any component, board or supplier, and it describes a memorandum, not a signed supply contract, so we draw no link between it and any part number. Our view, labelled as ours: a plant of that size, and the smaller hybrid sites around it, depend on controller boards whose 12 V and 24 V rails are decoupled with large-value ceramics. We have no relationship with Energy Fiji, EPC Renewables or Grupo Cobra.
Which Walsin X5R capacitors sit at 16 V and 25 V in 1206 and 1210?
A controller rail rarely needs more than 22 microfarad per cell, and Walsin’s X5R general-purpose range reaches it in two case sizes. We parsed all 8,467 rows of the General Purpose series and found 51 X5R rows at 16 Vdc or 25 Vdc in 1206 or 1210: 14 at 1206 and 16 volts, 17 at 1206 and 25 volts, 12 at 1210 and 16 volts, and 8 at 1210 and 25 volts. We have not seen this cell counted anywhere.
The 1210 cells reach 47 microfarad at 16 V (1210X476M160, plus or minus 20%) and 22 microfarad at 25 V (1210X226K250), and the 1206 cells reach 22 microfarad at both voltages (1206X226K160, 1206X226K250). The case-size and dielectric trade is covered in our post on decoupling at the package, and the DC-bias loss that makes a nominal 10 microfarad part deliver less on a live rail is covered in MLCC DC bias and voltage derating.
How do the X5R rows compare with the X7R lines we actually hold?
They differ in dielectric, and in thickness on the one part both sides list. The table sets the stocked X7R 10 microfarad lines against the two X5R codes that are listed twice.
| Walsin part | Dielectric, value, voltage | Thickness as exported | On shelf 23 Sep 2026 | Match / mismatch against a 10 microfarad, 25 V, 1210 controller rail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1210X106K250 (first listing) |
X5R, 10 microfarad, 25 V, plus or minus 10% | 2.00 plus or minus 0.20 mm | No | Match on value, voltage, tolerance and case |
1210X106K250 (second listing) |
X5R, 10 microfarad, 25 V, plus or minus 10% | 2.50 plus or minus 0.30 mm, remark asks you to contact Walsin’s local representative | No | Match on electrical fields; mismatch on height by 0.5 mm, and flagged as customized |
1210B106K250 |
X7R, 10 microfarad, 25 V, plus or minus 10% | 2.00 plus or minus 0.20 mm | Yes | Match on value, voltage, case and height; mismatch on dielectric, X7R against X5R |
1210B106K160 |
X7R, 10 microfarad, 16 V, plus or minus 10% | 2.00 plus or minus 0.20 mm | Yes | Mismatch: voltage, 16 V against 25 V |
1206X106K250 |
X5R, 10 microfarad, 25 V, plus or minus 10% | listed twice, 1.60 plus or minus 0.20 mm and 1.60 +0.30/-0.10 mm | No | Mismatch on case, 1206 against 1210; one listing carries the customized remark |
1206B105K250 |
X7R, 1 microfarad, 25 V, plus or minus 10% | 1.15 plus or minus 0.15 mm | Yes | Mismatch: value, 1 microfarad against 10 microfarad |
Read the dielectric’s own temperature limits in Walsin’s datasheet for the General Purpose series, listed in our MLCC range, and confirm against both datasheets before you swap.
Why are 2 of the 51 rows the same part number?
Because the export lists the same code twice with different heights. 1206X106K250 and 1210X106K250 each appear in two rows with the same value, voltage and tolerance; in each pair one row carries a remark reading that the product is customized and to contact Walsin’s local representative, and the other has none, so 51 rows are 49 distinct part numbers.
A buyer who pastes a list into a spreadsheet and joins on part number gets two answers for each code and no clue which is orderable. In the 1206 case the heights read 1.60 plus or minus 0.20 mm and 1.60 +0.30/-0.10 mm; in the 1210 case they read 2.00 plus or minus 0.20 mm and 2.50 plus or minus 0.30 mm. Treat the height as unresolved until Walsin confirms it for the code you intend to order. Our wider duplicate part number count covers the whole MLCC export; the two codes here are only the ones in this voltage-and-case cell.
What does the Hong Kong shelf hold for this cell?
None of the 49. As at 23 September 2026 our list holds 1,125 distinct part numbers, and none of the 49 X5R codes at 16 Vdc or 25 Vdc in 1206 or 1210 is among them; the 11 distinct stocked part numbers in those two sizes at those two voltages are 10 X7R and 1 NP0.
So an X5R rail value is a factory order, requested through the site, while an X7R body is often available as a dated snapshot line. The ready stock list is never live-synced, and we quote part-number counts, never piece counts. Our post on how to check Walsin stock and reserve it explains how to read it.
What will we not tell you about hybrid plants?
Anything about a plant, a rating or a site. We searched the text of all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, for solar, diesel, hybrid, marine, salt and tropic and found 0 matches; no Walsin sheet we hold is written for energy storage, inverter control or island use.
Whether an X5R part suits a given controller is a design decision about DC-bias loss, temperature and ripple that stays with you. We hold no office, entity or stock in Fiji; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team.
Why do buyers in Fiji choose Venatech?
Because we show a Fijian buyer the mismatches as well as the matches, and we can prove the rest: 28 Walsin datasheets held, 451 pages, and one named authorised line. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong; Walsin is our only authorised line, and Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We confirm nothing we cannot show.
Fiji projects tend to buy small, mixed quantities against a deadline, and our service is built for that. For a hybrid-controller board:
- We tell you what the export hides. In this one voltage-and-case cell we found two part numbers listed twice with different heights, and we tell you before you order one.
-
We show the dielectric difference. The stocked 10 microfarad lines are X7R and the 49 X5R codes are not; you see both in one table and choose.
-
Hong Kong-based service, small lots welcome. A prototype or pilot quantity is a normal order for us, requested through the site.
- Breadth you can count. Our Walsin extracts (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_MOV_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_DiscCap_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx and the chip-resistor, thin-film and RF files) hold 359,135 distinct part numbers, and the VenaMatch tool covers 800,000+ crossable parts.
- Honest cross-referencing. Every candidate is shown with each field marked match or mismatch, so you see the gap before you lay out a board.
- Checkable credentials. We are an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong, which you can confirm with Walsin. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the relevant one on request.
How can Venatech help a Fijian buyer with a hybrid-power controller bill of materials?
By showing the differences instead of hiding them, across 800,000+ crossable parts, in small lots. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.
- Cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch.
- BOM check. Upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file.
- Ready stock. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, not live.
- Service. Hong Kong-based, small lots, help with cross-referencing by hand when the tool returns no clean candidate, and a quote requested through the site.
Worked example from our own export: a 10 microfarad, 25 V, X5R, 1210 controller capacitor maps to 1210X106K250 if you accept an unresolved height, to the stocked 1210B106K250 if you accept X7R in place of X5R at the same height, and to nothing exact if you accept neither. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.
The short version
For a Fijian hybrid-controller buyer, Walsin’s X5R cell at 16 V and 25 V in 1206 and 1210 holds 51 rows and 49 part numbers, two codes appear twice with different heights, and none of the 49 is on the Hong Kong shelf. The stocked neighbours are X7R.
Paste one controller rail capacitor into the free cross-reference tool, or upload the board to /bom/, and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated and the stock position named. If your 25 V rail is X5R at 10 microfarad, which would you give up first: the dielectric, the height or the lead time?

Frequently asked questions
What did the September 2026 Yaqara agreement cover?
ESS News reported on 7 September 2026 a memorandum of understanding between Energy Fiji, EPC Renewables and Grupo Cobra for a two-stage solar and battery project totalling 142 MW and 240 MWh. It is a memorandum, not a supply contract, and it names no component.
How many Walsin X5R capacitors sit at 16 V and 25 V in 1206 and 1210?
We counted 51 rows in the General Purpose series, which are 49 distinct part numbers: 14 at 1206 and 16 volts, 17 at 1206 and 25 volts, 12 at 1210 and 16 volts, and 8 at 1210 and 25 volts. Two codes are listed twice.
Why is 1210X106K250 listed twice?
The export lists it in two rows with the same value, voltage and tolerance but heights of 2.00 and 2.50 mm, and one row carries a customized-product remark. We cannot say which is orderable. Ask Walsin through us to confirm the height for your code.
Is any of the 49 X5R codes on the Hong Kong shelf?
No. As at 23 September 2026 none of the 49 is on our stock list, so each is a quote requested through the site. The stocked 10 microfarad lines in those sizes are X7R, which is a different dielectric. The list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced.
Can Venatech say a Walsin capacitor suits a solar-diesel plant?
No. None of the 28 datasheets we hold, 451 pages, mentions solar, diesel or hybrid use. DC-bias loss, temperature and ripple are design decisions that stay with you, and we give no compliance advice.
Does Venatech have an office in Fiji?
No. We hold no office, entity or stock in Fiji. Venatech Limited is based in Hong Kong with locations in Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and Chengdu in preparation. We serve Fijian buyers from Hong Kong in small lots.
