Small-Batch Passive Components for Belgium: Antwerp-Bruges Logged 3 Disruptions in H1 2026, and 0 of 153 Stocked 0201-to-0603 MLCC Lines Ship in a Reel Under 4,000

Small-batch passive components for Belgium come down to the reel. Of the 501 lines in our 23 September 2026 Hong Kong stock snapshot that carry a standard pack quantity, 16 are 1,000 or fewer, and 0 of 153 MLCC lines at 0201, 0402 and 0603 are under 4,000. A 1,000-piece pilot build usually means a full reel.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, wrote this note for Belgian engineers and buyers who build instruments, process-control units and short industrial runs, where the quantity is hundreds or thousands, not millions. It is built from Walsin Technology (Walsin) exports (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, 24,026 rows, and the 137 chip resistor files, 234,815 rows) and our Hong Kong stock snapshot dated 23 September 2026, 1,125 part numbers. Our stock file is a dated snapshot, and its pack-quantity column is our own record. Every part number is real, and we re-counted every figure. Pharma and industrial electronics are our reading of who buys short runs; we name no customer.

What did Antwerp-Bruges report for 2025 and the first half of 2026?

For 2025, container volume of 13.63 million TEU, up 0.7 percent, and container imports from China up 3.8 percent. For the first half of 2026, 6.8 million TEU, down 1.5 percent, with trade with China growing. The port named three disruptions in the first half of 2026 and estimated each in TEU.

Container News reported on 28 January 2026 that the port lost about 25 days to industrial action in 2025. It reported on 16 July 2026 that a four-day strike in March cost an estimated 100,000 TEU, an oil spill at Deurganck Dock in April about 85,000 TEU, and pilots’ action in June about 75,000 TEU. Our sum of those three estimates is 260,000 TEU, about 3.8 percent of the half-year’s 6.8 million TEU. The arithmetic is ours, and the port gave the three estimates. We state no transit time, freight cost, carrier or customs procedure, and we do not say any component is short. Our view is only that a Belgian buyer who plans a pilot build around a single order is exposed to a port calendar, and a buyer who knows the reel sizes can order once, early and in the right multiples.

How does the reel size change with case size on our shelf?

It falls as the part grows. Across the 244 capacitor lines in our snapshot that carry a standard pack quantity, every 0201 line is 15,000, every 0402 line 10,000 and every 0603 line 4,000. We counted the pack quantity on every line of our snapshot and joined each line to the case size in Walsin’s MLCC export (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx); the three smallest sizes have no exceptions.

Case size Lines with a pack quantity Pack quantity range Match / mismatch against a 1,000-piece pilot need
0201 9 15,000 Mismatch: 15 times the need
0402 72 10,000 Mismatch: 10 times the need
0603 72 4,000 Mismatch: 4 times the need
0805 49 3,000 to 4,000 Mismatch: 3 to 4 times the need
1206 24 2,000 to 4,000 Mismatch: 2 to 4 times the need
1210 5 1,000 to 3,000 Match on 4 of 5 lines at 1,000; 1 line at 3,000
1808 and 1812 7 1,000 Match on all 7 lines
2211 and 2220 2 500 Match: below the need

The shelf has 4 capacitor lines with a pack quantity and no row in the export, so they sit outside this table. Chip resistors are blunter. Of 254 resistor lines on the shelf, 167 are 5,000, 80 are 10,000, 4 are 15,000, 2 are 4,000 and 1 is 1,000, so 253 of 254 are 4,000 or more. Our post on MLCC reflow profile and mounting covers what happens after the reel arrives.

Which stocked lines suit a 1,000-piece pilot build?

Only the large capacitors. A pilot build of 1,000 pieces fits a 1,000-piece reel on 1210 to 1812 lines and costs a 4,000 to 15,000-piece reel on everything smaller. The last column states what differs, because a reel size is a purchase fact, not a specification. Leave the incumbent column for your own part.

Which lines are 1,000 or fewer, and which carry no reel size at all?

Sixteen of 501 lines are 1,000 or fewer: 14 at 1,000 and 2 at 500, which is 3.2 percent. Fifteen are capacitors at 1210 or larger or safety parts, and one is the resistor SR471K05DOJNCEDEN. The other 624 of our 1,125 lines carry no pack quantity in the snapshot at all.

For those 624, a reel size exists and we do not publish it in this file, so ask for it by part number. The median pack quantity across the 501 that do carry one is 5,000, and 333 of the 501, 66.5 percent, are 5,000 or more. Our post on how to check Walsin stock and reserve it shows how to ask. A snapshot is not a promise and quantities move, so check Hong Kong ready stock for the current view and send the part for a dated answer.

How should a Belgian pilot-run buyer plan a mixed BOM around reels?

Order the small parts once and in full reels, and choose the large parts for the pilot quantity. A mixed pilot BOM of 40 lines is driven by its three or four smallest sizes, because those are the 4,000 to 15,000-piece reels. Our view is to count the reels before you count the parts.

Two checks save the most time. Where a 0603 line and a 0805 line answer the same value, check whether the layout allows a larger case, because the larger size ships in a smaller reel; the cost is board area and the part’s published thickness, so check height. And where a line has no pack quantity in our file, ask before you size the order. For a whole BOM, the BOM checker takes up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file and states every difference. A cross result is a specification match against a published catalogue, never an approval, and qualification stays with you.

What will we not tell you about Belgian import?

Anything operational or regulatory. We state no duty rate, tariff code, customs procedure, transit time, freight cost or carrier, and we hold no office, entity or stock in Belgium. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. Your customs broker and compliance team own the import side, and they decide whether any regulation applies to your product.

What we can give you is checkable. We supply lot and date-code traceability and, on request, a certificate of conformity with each shipment, in original sealed Walsin packaging. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and we tell you what we do not hold: REACH, SVHC and quality-system documents are not in the documents we hold, and we make no ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 claim for Venatech. Walsin’s MLCC export (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx) has Packing and SPQ columns that are empty on all 24,026 rows, so the reel sizes above come from our own stock file and not from Walsin’s published data. Our contact is Unit 207, 2/F, Sun Ling Plaza, 30 On Kui Street, Fanling, N.T., Hong Kong, (852) 2628 4777. The MLCC range lists the families.

The short version

Reel size follows case size: 15,000 at 0201, 10,000 at 0402, 4,000 at 0603, and 1,000 only from 1210 up. Of 501 lines with a pack quantity on 23 September 2026, 16 are 1,000 or fewer, and 0 of 153 at 0201 to 0603 are under 4,000. Antwerp-Bruges reported three first-half 2026 disruptions that we sum at 260,000 TEU, so a small-batch buyer should order once and early.

Paste your pilot BOM into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, or send us the lines. We return the Walsin parts with every difference stated and the reel size where we hold one. And a question: how many of your pilot-build parts are bought in a reel ten times the quantity you use?

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest reel I can buy for a Belgian pilot build?

On our 23 September 2026 shelf, 1,000 pieces on 14 lines, 500 on 2 lines. They are 1210 and larger capacitors, safety parts and one resistor. At 0201, 0402 and 0603 every stocked line is 4,000 pieces or more, so a pilot there means a full reel.

Does reel size depend on the case size?

Yes, on our shelf. Every stocked 0201 line is 15,000, every 0402 line 10,000 and every 0603 line 4,000. At 0805 the range is 3,000 to 4,000, at 1206 it is 2,000 to 4,000, and at 1210 and above it falls to 1,000 or less.

Why does Venatech cite Antwerp-Bruges figures?

Because Belgian buyers import components through a port that reported three first-half 2026 disruptions, estimated by the port at 100,000, 85,000 and 75,000 TEU. We sum them at 260,000 TEU. We state no transit time or freight cost, and the arithmetic is ours.

Can I order a quantity below the pack quantity?

We cannot say from this file. The pack quantity is a standard pack, and we have not confirmed splitting or other packaging for every part number. Ask us in writing with the part number and quantity, and we will answer for that part.

Why do 624 of your lines show no pack quantity?

The snapshot carries a pack quantity on 501 of its 1,125 lines and none on the other 624. A reel size exists for those parts, but it is not in this file. Send the part number and we will confirm it in writing.

Is a cross-reference result an approved replacement?

No. It is a specification match against Walsin’s published catalogue, offered as a candidate for your evaluation. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit before production. Venatech makes no approval or qualification claim on your behalf.
