Sourcing Passive Components for Croatia from Hong Kong: 3 Sourced Facts for EV and EMS Lines, and Only 32 of 262 X7R MLCC at 1 uF or More Have an AEC-Q200 Twin

Passive components for Croatia from Hong Kong, for an EV battery or contract-manufacturing line, hit one wall in capacitors: capacitance falls when you move to an AEC-Q200 series. We parsed all 24,026 Walsin MLCC rows. Only 32 of 262 General Purpose X7R parts at 1 uF or more have an AEC-Q200 MT twin on the same five fields.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC parametric export: 24,026 rows in 00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, 23,601 distinct part numbers. This post is for a buyer in Croatia who runs an electric-vehicle electronics line or a contract-manufacturing (EMS) floor and wants to know what a Hong Kong source can and cannot give. Every part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development or a market figure, it names the source, the date of the document and the day we fetched it.

What do Croatian EV battery and EMS buyers need from a Hong Kong distributor?

A capacitor list that survives a qualification change, and a stock list you can read. An EV board and an EMS line want different things from the same MLCC range: the EV board wants a named qualification, and the EMS line wants the plain value in volume, so the swap that matters is the one between them. Our count says that swap is narrower than it looks.

We hold the data for the swap, and we hold no figure for any Croatian company’s demand. We name no customer. Our own post on MT against MG explains why the series name, not the electrical fields, carries the qualification claim, and the MLCC range lists the families.

Which published facts frame Croatian EV and electronics demand?

Three, all dated. BMW’s press release of 7 April 2026 says Rimac Technology of Croatia builds the high-voltage battery for the new BMW i7, and the Croatian Bureau of Statistics reported 2025 exports of electrical equipment up 14.3% and of motor vehicles and trailers up 16.1%. We read each source in full before writing this section.

Point What the source says Source date What it means for a component buyer Match / mismatch
BMW Group and Rimac Technology Rimac manufactures the high-voltage battery for the new i7 in Croatia; it is delivered ready for assembly at BMW’s Dingolfing plant; the cells are 4695-format cylindrical cells; the new 7 Series debuts on 22 April 2026 BMW Group press release, 7 April 2026 Battery electronics is built in Croatia for a German vehicle line Mismatch with a parts claim: the release names no component and no supplier
Production capacity Capacity of 300,000 modules a year, about 50,000 full battery systems, as reported by Carscoops Carscoops, 7 April 2026 A trade-press figure, not a Rimac statement we hold Mismatch: a secondary source, so we attribute and do not rely on it
Croatian foreign trade, 2025 Exports of electrical equipment (NKD division C27) 2,425,483 thousand euro, index 114.3; exports of motor vehicles and trailers (C29) 1,105,505 thousand euro, index 116.1 Croatian Bureau of Statistics release, 29 May 2026 Both sectors grew in 2025 Match for direction; mismatch for parts: the release is by industry, not by component

Our view, labelled as ours: none of these three sources says a Croatian maker is short of a part, and we imply none. They show a country building battery packs and exporting more electrical equipment. Whether your line needs AEC-Q200 parts is set by your customer’s specification.

What does moving an X7R capacitor to an AEC-Q200 series cost in capacitance?

A lot at the top of the range. We counted the distinct X7R part numbers in three series: 2,822 General Purpose, 886 in the AEC-Q200 MT series and 115 in the soft-termination ST series. At 0805, the General Purpose ceiling is 10 uF and the MT ceiling is 1 uF, a tenfold drop. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

Case size General Purpose X7R ceiling MT X7R ceiling (AEC-Q200) ST X7R ceiling (AEC-Q200) Match / mismatch
0603 4.7 uF (0603B475K6R3, 6.3 V) 1 uF (MT18B105K160, 16 V) 0.22 uF (ST18B224K250, 25 V) Mismatch: MT gives up 3.7 uF
0805 10 uF (0805B106K100, 10 V) 1 uF (MT21B105K100, 10 V) 1 uF (ST21B105K500, 50 V) Mismatch: MT gives up 9 uF
1206 22 uF (1206B226K100, 10 V) 2.2 uF (MT31B225K500, 50 V) 10 uF (ST31B106K250, 25 V) Mismatch on MT; ST keeps 10 of 22 uF
1210 47 uF (1210B476K100, 10 V) 10 uF (MT32B106J500, 50 V) 22 uF (ST32B226K250, 25 V) Mismatch on both; ST keeps 22 of 47 uF

The ceilings sit at different voltages, so compare capacitance only after you fix your voltage. The share of parts at 1 uF or more tells the same story. In General Purpose X7R, 262 of 2,822 parts (9.3%) reach 1 uF. In MT, 38 of 886 (4.3%) do. In ST, 32 of 115 (27.8%) do. Soft termination is the route up in capacitance, and our post on soft-termination MLCC covers it. A capacitor that loses capacitance under DC bias loses more than the table shows; see DC bias and derating.

Which stocked X7R lines have an AEC-Q200 twin, and which do not?

Half of them for the plain case, and few of the big values. We joined our 23 September 2026 stock to the export: 323 stocked lines are X7R, 162 (50.2%) have an MT twin on size, dielectric, capacitance, tolerance and voltage, and only 9 of the 24 lines at 1 uF or more do. Across the whole catalogue the figures are 729 of 2,822 General Purpose X7R parts (25.8%), and 32 of the 262 at 1 uF or more (12.2%).

Stocked part Size, capacitance, voltage, tolerance AEC-Q200 twin Match / mismatch
0805B105K250 0805, 1 uF, 25 V, plus or minus 10% MT21B105K250 Match on five fields; the series differs
0805B106K100 0805, 10 uF, 10 V, plus or minus 10% None in MT or ST Mismatch: MT stops at 1 uF at 0805
1206B225K250 1206, 2.2 uF, 25 V, plus or minus 10% None Mismatch: the MT 2.2 uF parts at 1206 are rated 50 V and 100 V
1206B475K100 1206, 4.7 uF, 10 V, plus or minus 10% None in any series Mismatch
1210B106K250 1210, 10 uF, 25 V, plus or minus 10% MT32B106K250, ST32B106K250 Match on five fields in two series
1210B105K500 1210, 1 uF, 50 V, plus or minus 10% MT32B105K500 Match on five fields

A twin is a catalogue statement about five fields. The twin differs in series, in dimensional tolerance and, for ST, in termination. Walsin’s own datasheets say its MT series meets AEC-Q200 and describe it as compliant. They do not replace the qualification report for your exact part number, which you should ask for. Our post on what AEC-Q200 actually certifies states the limits.

What do we hold in stock for an EV or EMS build?

Plain parts, no AEC-Q200 series. Of the 1,125 part numbers in our stock list as at 23 September 2026, none sits in the MT or ST series: 0 of 864 MLCC lines. We hold 490 General Purpose lines and 149 in the Middle to High Voltage series among the 762 MLCC lines that join to an export row.

Sector What we looked for Lines held, 23 September 2026 Example Match / mismatch
EV battery electronics MT or ST series 0 none Mismatch: order from the factory, not from shelf
EMS volume X7R General Purpose at 1 uF or more 24 of 323 stocked X7R lines 0805B105K250 Match for non-automotive builds
EMS volume X7R lines with an MT twin 162 of 323 1210B106K250 Match on five fields, twin not held

The list is a dated snapshot and moves. Our ready stock page shows what is held in Hong Kong now. An AEC-Q200 requirement means a factory order.

What will we not tell you about Croatian import?

Anything operational. We state no duty rate, tariff code, customs procedure, transit time, freight cost or carrier, and we hold no office, entity or stock in Croatia. Our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. Your customs broker owns the import side; confirm with your compliance team.

What we can do is the cross-reference. Paste your EV or EMS capacitor line into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, or load a BOM of up to 500 lines. We supply lot and date-code traceability and, on request, a certificate of conformity per shipment. REACH, SVHC, PFAS, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, PPAP and IMDS documents do not appear in the 451 pages of the 28 Walsin datasheets we hold. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

The short version

For a Croatian EV or EMS line, the capacitor swap is a capacitance question. The AEC-Q200 MT series tops out at 1 uF at 0805 against 10 uF in General Purpose, 32 of 262 General Purpose X7R parts at 1 uF or more have an MT twin, and soft termination keeps more. In our stock list as at 23 September 2026, 0 of 864 MLCC lines are in an AEC-Q200 series.

Send us one X7R line from your battery or EMS BOM and we will return the Walsin parts with the differences stated. How much capacitance can your board give up to get the qualification?

Frequently asked questions

What do Croatian EV battery and EMS buyers need from a Hong Kong distributor?

A capacitor list that survives a qualification change, and a stock list you can read. EV boards want a named qualification; EMS lines want the plain value in volume. The swap between them is narrower than it looks: only 32 of 262 General Purpose X7R parts at 1 uF or more have an AEC-Q200 twin.

Which published facts frame Croatian EV and electronics demand?

A BMW Group press release of 7 April 2026 on the Rimac battery for the BMW i7, built in Croatia, and a Croatian Bureau of Statistics release of 29 May 2026 showing 2025 exports of electrical equipment up 14.3%. Neither names a component or a shortage.

How much capacitance do you lose moving to an AEC-Q200 X7R series?

At 0805, the General Purpose X7R ceiling is 10 uF and the MT ceiling is 1 uF. At 1206 it is 22 uF against 2.2 uF. The ceilings sit at different voltages, so fix your voltage first. The soft-termination ST series keeps 10 uF at 1206.

Is the Walsin MT series AEC-Q200 compliant?

Walsin’s datasheet says the MT series meets AEC-Q200 requirements, and we use the word compliant, never certified. Venatech makes no qualification claim of its own. Ask for the qualification report for your exact part number before you rely on it.

Do you hold AEC-Q200 series MLCC in Hong Kong stock?

Not as at 23 September 2026. None of our 864 MLCC lines is in the MT or ST series, so an AEC-Q200 requirement is a factory order. 162 of 323 stocked X7R lines have an MT twin in the catalogue, which we do not hold. Stock moves, so ask.

Do you state Croatian duty rates or transit times?

No. We hold no Croatian customs content, no office or stock in Croatia, and no freight or transit data. Your customs broker owns that side. We supply parts, lot and date-code traceability and, on request, a certificate of conformity per shipment.
