Watch electronics for Switzerland live on small NP0 capacitors, and the shelf is thinner than the catalogue. We counted 394 Walsin General Purpose NP0 parts from 6 to 22 pF in 0201 and 0402. Only 23 are on our Hong Kong shelf, and at 12 pF there is not one in 0402.

What do Swiss watch exports say about 2026 for a component buyer?
Flat, with a volatile month. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry reported that 2025 exports fell 1.7 percent to 25.6 billion Swiss francs, and the swissinfo report of 21 July 2026 puts first-half 2026 exports at 12.8 billion francs, down 0.7 percent, after June rose 11.2 percent. We read three pages on 23 October 2026.
The Swiss federal SME portal (11 February 2026) adds that the number of watches exported fell 4.8 percent in 2025 to 14.6 million, that the below-500-franc segment dropped 4.5 percent while the 500 to 3,000 franc segment held steady, and that the industry expected 2026 to stay broadly balanced. Swissinfo records June 2026 at about 1.3 million timepieces, up 11.7 percent, after April fell 16.6 percent and May rose 0.4 percent.
Our conclusion, labelled as ours: a flat year with swings from month to month rewards a maker who can buy small lots of the same few values on short notice and who has a second source on file. The sources do not say that. We have no relationship with any Swiss watch brand or supplier.
How many NP0 values does Walsin offer around a quartz timebase in 0201 and 0402?
394 parts across two footprints, of which the shelf covers a sliver. We parsed all 23,601 distinct MLCC part numbers and filtered General Purpose NP0 parts from 6 to 22 pF in 0201 and 0402: 394 parts, 23 on the shelf as at 23 September 2026. A quartz timebase usually sits between two small NP0 capacitors, and the value comes from the crystal datasheet and the board’s stray capacitance, neither of which we know.

We have not seen this counted anywhere: in 0402 the shelf covers 9 of 23 General Purpose NP0 values between 6 and 22 pF, and 12 pF is not among them. The stocked 0402 values are 6.8, 7.5, 8, 9, 10, 15, 18, 20 and 22 pF. In 0201 the stocked values are 6, 7, 9, 9.1, 12, 18 and 20 pF. We read the pF steps from the Capacitance field of the export, and the 0201 and 0402 counts exclude the Automotive, High Q, Microwave and Ultra-small series, which we leave out of this count.

The 12 pF NP0 value exists as 234 distinct parts across all series and sizes, and 50 of them are in 0402, spread over six series. The HH series is the High Q and Low ESR line; all 1,709 of its parts are NP0 and none exceeds 0805. The short version
For a Swiss watch or wearable maker, the market is flat, with first-half 2026 exports down 0.7 percent, and the small NP0 shelf is thin. The electrical cross is the easy half, and the footprint is the half you may have to redraw.
