Off-Grid Solar Home Electronics for Samoa from Hong Kong: Walsin Lists X7R at 50 V and 10 Microfarad or More in 17 Rows and 14 Part Numbers, None Smaller Than 1210, and None Is on Our Shelf, Where the 50 V Stock Stops at 4.7 Microfarad

Off-grid solar home electronics for Samoa often need a 10 microfarad ceramic on a battery-side rail. We searched the Walsin Technology (Walsin) MLCC export for X7R at 50 V and 10 microfarad or more: 17 rows, 14 part numbers, none smaller than 1210, and none on our Hong Kong shelf, where the 50 V stock stops at 4.7 microfarad.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin MLCC export of 24,026 rows (23,601 distinct part numbers) and a ready-stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a design or procurement engineer at a Samoan installer, utility contractor or solar-home-system builder who has a charge-controller or battery-management board and wants a second source in small lots from Hong Kong. Every Walsin part number is real, every count is ours, and the news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 2 November 2026.

What does the 2026 Australian-backed Samoa rooftop solar programme mean for an electronics buyer?

It means more small off-grid systems that each carry a controller board. pv magazine Australia reported in March 2026, in an article we read on 2 November 2026 through a repost dated 13 August 2026, that the Electric Power Corporation will install rooftop solar and battery storage on 88 off-grid homes, with 20 more households supported through a fast-track initiative, plus an upgrade of the Apolima mini-grid to supply 11 households round the clock.

The article gives the total as 108 households and 5 community fales across Upolu, Savai’i and Apolima, funded by the Australian government through REnew Pacific and the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific, with a project budget of 1.2 million Australian dollars. It states no capacity in kilowatts and names no component, board or supplier, so we draw no link between it and any part number. Our view, labelled as ours: a small battery-backed home system needs a controller whose rails are decoupled with a few bulk ceramics. We have no relationship with the Electric Power Corporation or the funders.

Which Walsin X7R capacitors reach 10 microfarad at 50 V?

Seventeen rows, in five series, and none smaller than 1210. We parsed all 1,561 X7R rows rated 50 Vdc in the Walsin MLCC export and found 17 at 10 microfarad or more: 10 in 1210, 1 in 1812, 5 in 2220 and 1 in 2225, under the General Purpose, Big Sizes, MT, SH and ST series. We have not seen this cell counted anywhere.

Three codes are listed twice (1210B106J500, 1210B106K500 and 1210B106M500, each with heights of 2.50 plus or minus 0.30 mm and 2.50 plus or minus 0.20 mm), so the 17 rows are 14 distinct part numbers. The 14 are 1210B106J500, 1210B106K500, 1210B106M500, 1812B106K500, 2220B106K500, 2220B106M500, 2220B226K500, 2225B106K500, MT32B106J500, SH32B106K500, SH55B106K500, SH55B226K500, ST32B106J500 and ST32B106M500. The voltage-versus-capacitance trade is covered in MLCC DC bias and voltage derating.

How do the candidates compare with a 10 microfarad, 50 V, X7R, 1210 line?

One body is a match; every other differs in height, termination or case. The table sets six rows against a 10 microfarad, 50 V, X7R, plus or minus 10%, 1210 line.

Walsin part Series as exported Case, height as exported On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch against a 10 microfarad, 50 V, X7R, 10%, 1210 line
1210B106K500 General Purpose 1210, listed twice at 2.50 plus or minus 0.30 and 0.20 mm No Match on value, voltage, dielectric, tolerance and case; height unresolved
1210B106M500 General Purpose 1210, 2.50 mm, plus or minus 20% No Mismatch: tolerance, 20% against 10%
SH32B106K500 Soft termination, SH series 1210, 2.50 plus or minus 0.50 mm No Match on electrical fields; mismatch on termination and height tolerance
ST32B106J500 Automotive soft termination, ST series 1210, 2.50 plus or minus 0.50 mm, plus or minus 5% No Mismatch: tolerance and automotive grade
MT32B106J500 Automotive, MT series 1210, 2.50 plus or minus 0.50 mm, plus or minus 5% No Mismatch: tolerance and automotive grade
1812B106K500 General Purpose 1812, no height exported No Mismatch: case, 1812 against 1210, and no height to check

The General Purpose 1210 row is the only plain-termination candidate; the soft-termination and automotive rows are listed in our post on soft termination MLCC with their own limits.

What does the Hong Kong shelf hold at 50 V?

A 4.7 microfarad rung, not a 10. As at 23 September 2026 our list holds 1,125 distinct part numbers, and none of the 14 candidates is among them; the 50 V X7R lines at 1 microfarad or more that we do list are 1206B105J500, 1206B105K500, 1210B105K500 and 1210B475K500 in plain termination, plus soft-termination SH31B475K500 and SH32B335K500.

A 10 microfarad, 50 V X7R is therefore a factory order, requested through the site, and a buyer who can live with 4.7 microfarad has 1210B475K500 as a dated snapshot line. The ready stock list is never live-synced, and we quote part-number counts, never piece counts. Our post on how to check Walsin stock and reserve it explains how to read it.

What will we not tell you about solar home systems?

Anything about a system, a climate or a battery. We searched the text of all 28 Walsin datasheets we hold, 451 pages, for solar, hybrid, tropic and salt and found 0 matches; 27 of the 28 mention sulfur and 26 mention ammonia, which are warnings about contaminated environments, not statements about coastal use.

We cannot say whether an X7R part suits a humid, salty or hot site, and we do not claim it. DC-bias loss at the operating voltage, temperature and ripple are design decisions that stay with you, and our MLCC range lists the families. We hold no office, entity or stock in Samoa; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice; confirm with your compliance team.

Why do buyers in Samoa choose Venatech?

Because we show a Samoan buyer the mismatches as well as the matches, and we can prove the rest: 28 Walsin datasheets held, 451 pages, and one named authorised line. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong; Walsin is our only authorised line, and Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We confirm nothing we cannot show.

Samoan projects are often small and spread across islands, and a lot of a few dozen pieces is a normal order for us. For a battery-side rail:

  • We show you the wall before you hit it. At 50 V and 10 microfarad, X7R starts at 1210 and you see that in one count, not after a layout.
  • We name the rung we hold. The shelf has 4.7 microfarad at 50 V and we say so, instead of implying the 10 microfarad is on a shelf.

  • Hong Kong-based service, small lots welcome. A prototype or pilot quantity is a normal order for us, requested through the site.

  • Breadth you can count. Our Walsin extracts (00_ALL_MLCC_parts_combined.xlsx, Walsin_Inductor_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_MOV_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_DiscCap_ALL.xlsx, Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx and the chip-resistor, thin-film and RF files) hold 359,135 distinct part numbers, and the VenaMatch tool covers 800,000+ crossable parts.
  • Honest cross-referencing. Every candidate is shown with each field marked match or mismatch, so you see the gap before you lay out a board.
  • Checkable credentials. We are an authorised Walsin Technology distributor in Hong Kong, which you can confirm with Walsin. We hold 28 Walsin datasheets, 451 pages, and send the relevant one on request.

How can Venatech help a Samoan buyer with an off-grid solar home controller?

By showing the differences instead of hiding them, across 800,000+ crossable parts, in small lots. Venatech Limited is an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong. Walsin is our only authorised line; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply.

  • Cross-reference. Paste your incumbent number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch.
  • BOM check. Upload the whole bill of materials to /bom/, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file.
  • Ready stock. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026, not live.
  • Service. Hong Kong-based, small lots, help with cross-referencing by hand when the tool returns no clean candidate, and a quote requested through the site.

Worked example from our own export: a 10 microfarad, 50 V, X7R, plus or minus 10%, 1210 capacitor maps to 1210B106K500 if you accept an unresolved height, to the shelf line 1210B475K500 if you can live with 4.7 microfarad, and to nothing exact if you accept neither. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own circuit.

The short version

For a Samoan off-grid solar buyer, Walsin lists X7R at 50 V and 10 microfarad or more in 17 rows and 14 part numbers, none smaller than 1210, none on the Hong Kong shelf, where the 50 V stock stops at 4.7 microfarad.

Paste one battery-side capacitor into the free cross-reference tool, or upload the controller board to /bom/, and we will return the Walsin candidates with every difference stated and the stock position named. If your rail needs 10 microfarad at 50 V in a body no larger than 1206, which would you change first, the voltage or the value?

pv magazine Australia reported in March 2026 that 88 off-grid homes will receive rooftop solar and batteries, 20 more households are in a fast-track initiative, and the Apolima mini-grid will serve 11 households, funded by Australia. The article names no component.

How many Walsin X7R capacitors reach 10 microfarad at 50 V?

We counted 17 rows, which are 14 distinct part numbers, among 1,561 X7R rows rated 50 Vdc. They sit in 1210, 1812, 2220 and 2225 under five series, and none is smaller than 1210.

Why do 3 of the 1210 codes appear twice?

The export lists 1210B106J500, 1210B106K500 and 1210B106M500 each in two rows with heights of 2.50 plus or minus 0.30 mm and 2.50 plus or minus 0.20 mm. We cannot say which height is orderable, so confirm it with Walsin through us.

Is a 10 microfarad, 50 V X7R on the Hong Kong shelf?

No. As at 23 September 2026 none of the 14 candidates is on our stock list. The 50 V X7R shelf lines at 1 microfarad or more stop at 4.7 microfarad, such as 1210B475K500. The list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced.

Can Venatech say a Walsin capacitor suits a solar home system?

No. None of the 28 datasheets we hold, 451 pages, mentions solar or tropic use. DC-bias loss, temperature and ripple are design decisions that stay with you, and we give no compliance advice.

Does Venatech have an office in Samoa?

No. We hold no office, entity or stock in Samoa. Venatech Limited is based in Hong Kong with locations in Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, and Chengdu in preparation. We serve Samoan buyers from Hong Kong in small lots.
