An Angolan surge-resistor cross-reference should not stop at the family name. We compared Walsin’s Triple Power Surge series (5,810 rows) with its Power Surge series: 1,304 rows have a twin on size, value, tolerance and TCR, and in none does the rated power match, because the triple row is one step higher. Four parts, all 1206, are on our shelf.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor parametric exports: 137 files, 234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers. This post is for a buyer or design engineer at an Angolan vehicle-electronics or power-equipment maker whose bill of materials carries surge-rated thick-film resistors and who wants Walsin candidates with every difference stated. Every Walsin part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source and the day we fetched it (2 November 2026).
What does the IMF’s Angola page say that touches an equipment maker?
A modest growth projection and high inflation. The IMF’s Angola country page, fetched on 2 November 2026, lists projected 2026 real GDP growth of 2.3 percent and projected consumer price inflation of 12.9 percent, and shows the last Article IV report published on 5 March 2025. It also shows Angola’s outstanding purchases and loans from the IMF at 2,437.72 million SDR at 31 March 2026.
The page is a macro summary, not a trade or industry release, so it says nothing about resistors or any Angolan company, and we draw no conclusion about either. We have no relationship with the IMF.

How big is Walsin’s Triple Power Surge series, and what is its shape?
Large and exactly regular. Walsin’s export holds 5,810 rows in the Thick Film Triple Power Surge Chip Resistor (Automotive) series, and the count is precisely 830 rows at each of seven sizes, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 2010 and 2512, over 733 resistance values from 1 ohm to 1 megohm. Tolerances are plus or minus 1 percent (4,795 rows) and plus or minus 5 percent (1,015). The rated power steps with size: 1/5, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, 3/4, 1 and 2 W.
We found one more fact by reading the prefix. The prefix MF also names Walsin’s tantalum nitride thin-film resistors: MF12E1R00FTL is a thick-film triple-surge part and MF12Q10R0ATL is a thin-film part, in the same 1206 size with the same first four characters. The fifth character, E against Q, is the only guard. The thin-film MF file holds 20,520 rows.
| Fact we counted | Triple Power Surge | Match / mismatch |
|---|---|---|
| Rows | 5,810 (7 sizes x 830) | Match across sizes |
| Resistance values | 733, from 1 ohm to 1 megohm | Match across sizes |
| Rows at 1% / 5% | 4,795 / 1,015 | Mismatch in count only |
Prefix MF shared with thin film |
yes, 20,520 thin-film rows | Mismatch risk in a prefix search |
| On our 23 September 2026 shelf | 4 rows, all 1206 | Match for 4 only |
How does Triple Power Surge compare with the Power Surge series?
It is a step up in power at every shared size. Of the 5,810 triple rows, 1,304 have a row in Walsin’s Power Surge (Automotive) series with the same size, resistance, tolerance and TCR (709 at 0603 and 595 at 0805), and in none of the 1,304 is the rated power the same. At 0603 the triple part is 1/3 W where the Power Surge part is 1/4 W; at 0805 it is 1/2 W against 1/3 W.
Against Walsin’s standard Anti-Surge series the overlap is tiny: 25 triple rows have an anti-surge twin on those four fields (26 row pairs, 24 at 0603 and 2 at 1210), and again none shares the rated power.
| Triple Power Surge part | Twin | Match / mismatch | Your incumbent |
|---|---|---|---|
MF08E10R0FTL, 0805, 10 ohm, 1%, 100 ppm, 1/2 W |
MK08S10R0FTL, 1/3 W |
Match on size, value, tolerance, TCR; mismatch on power; neither on the shelf | |
MF06E1R0 JTL, 0603, 1 ohm, 5%, 200 ppm, 1/3 W |
WK06S1R0 JTL, anti-surge, 1/4 W |
Match on four fields; mismatch on power; part number contains a space | |
MF12E1R00FTL, 1206, 1 ohm, 1%, 100 ppm, 3/4 W |
none in Power Surge (0603 and 0805 only) | Mismatch: no twin; on the shelf | |
MF12E2200FTL, 1206, 220 ohm, 1%, 100 ppm, 3/4 W |
none | Mismatch: no twin; on the shelf | |
MF12E3300FTL, 1206, 330 ohm, 1%, 100 ppm, 3/4 W |
none | Mismatch: no twin; on the shelf | |
MF12E3902FTL, 1206, 39 kilohm, 1%, 100 ppm, 3/4 W |
none | Mismatch: no twin; on the shelf |
The four parts on our shelf are all 1206, 1 percent and 100 ppm. That is as at 23 September 2026 and is not live.
Why do buyers in Angola choose Venatech?
Buyers in Angola can use Venatech for concrete reasons. We are an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, so a surge-rated line is crossed to the manufacturer’s own catalogue. The VenaMatch tool decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers and covers 800,000+ crossable parts, and it prints match and mismatch for each field, as in the table above. We work in small lots, which suits a repair or aftermarket order, and four of the Triple Power Surge parts are on our Hong Kong list as at 23 September 2026.
The range behind them is deep: 5,810 triple rows, 3,030 Power Surge rows and 8,340 Anti-Surge rows in one export. When a row is missing or the power differs, we say so first.
What will we not tell you about Angola?
Anything about Angola’s customs, certification or procurement rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Angola; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty rate, transit time, carrier or conformity requirement, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.
How Venatech helps
Paste the incumbent surge-resistor number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload the list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Worked example from our exports: for a 1 ohm 1206 1 percent surge resistor, VenaMatch returns MF12E1R00FTL, which is on the list, and states that the Power Surge series has no 1206. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, and you can request a quote through the site. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. Qualification stays with you. The chip resistor range lists the families, our post on anti-surge chip resistors explains the series, and power rating by case size covers the watt steps.
The short version
Check the power rating, not the family name. Walsin’s Triple Power Surge series has 1,304 rows with a Power Surge twin on four fields and none matches the rated power; four 1206 parts are on our list; and the prefix MF is shared with thin film.
Send us one surge-resistor line from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin parts with every difference stated. What pulse does the part have to survive?

Frequently asked questions
What does the IMF project for Angola in 2026?
Its Angola country page lists projected 2026 real GDP growth of 2.3 percent and consumer price inflation of 12.9 percent. It is a macro summary and says nothing about electronics or components, so we draw no conclusion about any company.
How many Walsin Triple Power Surge rows are there?
5,810, exactly 830 at each of seven sizes from 0402 to 2512, over 733 resistance values from 1 ohm to 1 megohm. We counted them in the 234,815-row Walsin chip resistor export.
Does a Triple Power Surge part match a Power Surge part?
On size, value, tolerance and TCR, 1,304 rows have a twin, but in none does the rated power match: the triple row is 1/3 W where the Power Surge row is 1/4 W at 0603. Compare both datasheets.
Why does the MF prefix matter?
Walsin uses MF for the thick-film triple surge series and for its tantalum nitride thin-film series, so a prefix search returns both. The fifth character separates them: E for the thick-film part in our examples, Q for thin film.
Which Triple Power Surge parts are on your shelf?
Four, all 1206, 1 percent, 100 ppm and 3/4 W: MF12E1R00FTL, MF12E2200FTL, MF12E3300FTL and MF12E3902FTL, as at 23 September 2026. The list is a dated snapshot, not live. You can request a quote through the site.
Do you ship to Angola or state its import rules?
We ship from Hong Kong and state no duty, customs, certification or transit information for Angola. We hold no office or stock there and give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.
