Sourcing Metal-Plate Shunt Resistors for Namibia’s Solar and Hydrogen Project Builders from Hong Kong: 108 of 152 Walsin Low-Ohm Metal Plate Rows Have an Automotive Twin, the 14 at 0805 Have None, and 28 Automotive Power Rows End in V

A Namibian shunt-resistor cross-reference should treat Walsin’s four metal-plate low-ohm series as four lists, not one. We counted 866 rows: only 108 of the 152 commercial low-ohm rows have an automotive twin on size, value, tolerance, TCR and power, the 14 at 0805 have none, and 28 automotive power rows carry a V suffix where the rest carry J. None is on our shelf.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor parametric exports: 137 files, 234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers. This post is for a buyer or design engineer at a Namibian solar, battery or hydrogen-project electronics builder who needs a low-ohm shunt and wants Walsin candidates with every difference stated. Every Walsin part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source and the day we fetched it (2 November 2026).

What did the Namibia Statistics Agency report that touches a project builder?

A trade gap and slow growth. The Namibia Statistics Agency’s homepage, fetched on 2 November 2026, lists 2025 annual merchandise exports of 125.6 billion Namibia dollars against imports of 150.5 billion, 2025 GDP growth of 1.7 percent, and an inflation rate of 5.4 percent. The page also lists census thematic reports uploaded in October 2026.

The page does not state a reference period for every headline figure and does not break trade down by product, so it says nothing about resistors or any Namibian project, and we draw no conclusion about either. We have no relationship with the agency.

Point What the source says Period Match / mismatch
Exports 125.6 billion Namibia dollars 2025 annual Match for context only
Imports 150.5 billion Namibia dollars 2025 annual Match for context only
GDP growth 1.7 percent 2025 Match for context only
Passive components Not listed on the page we read n/a Mismatch with any resistor claim

How are Walsin’s four metal-plate low-ohm series arranged?

As two pairs with different size lists. We read them from the export file Metal_Low_Ohm_Current_Sense_Chip_Resistor__1of1.xlsx and checked every row. Walsin’s export holds 866 metal-plate low-ohm rows: 152 in the commercial Low Ohm series, 296 in its Automotive twin, 296 in the Power series and 122 in the Power Automotive series. Sizes run from 0603 to 2512 and values from 0.0005 to 0.100 ohm, and the fifth character of the part number is a sub-type letter, not a size code.

We checked each pair on five fields. Of the 152 commercial rows, 108 have an automotive twin on size, resistance, tolerance, TCR and rated power; 138 match on size, resistance and tolerance alone. The 14 rows at 0805 have no twin at all, because the automotive series lists only 1206, 2010 and 2512. In the power pair, 78 of 296 rows have a five-field twin and 202 match on three fields.

Pair Rows Five-field twin Three-field twin Match / mismatch
Low Ohm to Low Ohm Automotive 152 108 138 Mismatch for 44 rows
Power to Power Automotive 296 78 202 Mismatch for 218 rows
Low Ohm to Power (commercial) 152 34 130 Mismatch for 118 rows
On our 23 September 2026 shelf 866 0 n/a Match (all empty)

One naming fact is ours. 28 of the 122 Power Automotive rows end in V, all at 1206, where the other 94 end in J. The export gives no meaning for the V.

Which worked part numbers show the gaps?

Four examples cover the pattern. At 2512, 3 W and 3 milliohm the commercial part WW25BR003FTL has two automotive twins, WW25BR003FTLJ and WW25AR003FTLJ, both on size, value, tolerance, TCR and power. At 0805 the commercial part has none. The last column is for your incumbent part.

Walsin part Fields Twin Match / mismatch Your incumbent
WW25BR003FTL 2512, 0.003 ohm, 1%, 70 ppm, 3 W WW25BR003FTLJ, WW25AR003FTLJ Match on all five fields; mismatch on the J suffix; not on the shelf
WW08RR002FTL 0805, 0.002 ohm, 1%, 70 ppm, 1/2 W none (no 0805 automotive row) Mismatch: no automotive twin; not on the shelf
WW12RR002FTL 1206, 0.002 ohm, 1%, 70 ppm, 1 W (power series) WW12RR002FTLV Match on all five fields; mismatch on the V suffix
WW06RR005FTL 0603, 0.005 ohm, 1%, 70 ppm, 1/3 W none (no 0603 automotive row) Mismatch: no twin
WW20MR005FTL 2010, 0.005 ohm, 1%, 75 ppm, 1/2 W none (no 2010 power automotive row) Mismatch: no twin

Power does not carry over automatically: at 2512 the metal-plate series list 1 W, 2 W and 3 W, so match the watt first.

Why do buyers in Namibia choose Venatech?

Buyers in Namibia can use Venatech for concrete reasons. We are an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, so a shunt is crossed to the manufacturer’s own catalogue. The VenaMatch tool decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers and covers 800,000+ crossable parts, and it prints match and mismatch for each field, as above. We work in small lots, which suits a pilot installation, and the metal-plate range gives you 866 rows across four series to choose from.

We also say what we do not hold: for this family that is the datasheet. If your design needs a part that does not exist at the size you want, the table tells you before you order.

What will we not tell you about Namibia?

Anything about Namibia’s customs, certification or procurement rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Namibia; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty rate, transit time, carrier or conformity requirement, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.

How Venatech helps

Paste the incumbent shunt number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload the list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Worked example from our exports: for a 3 milliohm 2512 shunt at 3 W, VenaMatch returns WW25BR003FTL and its two automotive twins and states that none is on the list. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, and you can request a quote through the site. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. Qualification stays with you. The chip resistor range lists the families, our post on low-ohm current-sense thick film versus metal explains the construction, and power rating by case size covers the watt steps.

The short version

Treat each metal-plate series as its own list. 108 of 152 commercial rows have an automotive twin, the 14 at 0805 have none, 78 of 296 power rows have one, and 28 automotive power rows end in V.

Send us one shunt line from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin parts with every difference stated. What size and wattage does your board allow?

Frequently asked questions

What did Namibia report about trade for 2025?

The Namibia Statistics Agency’s homepage lists 2025 exports of 125.6 billion Namibia dollars and imports of 150.5 billion. It does not break trade down by product, and we draw no conclusion about resistors or any project.

How many Walsin metal-plate low-ohm rows are there?

866 across four series: 152 Low Ohm, 296 Low Ohm Automotive, 296 Power and 122 Power Automotive. We counted them in the 234,815-row Walsin chip resistor export.

Does every commercial metal-plate row have an automotive twin?

No. 108 of 152 have one on size, resistance, tolerance, TCR and rated power. The 14 rows at 0805 have none because the automotive series has no 0805 row. Compare field by field.

What does the V suffix mean?

The export does not say. 28 of the 122 Power Automotive rows end in V, all at 1206, where the other 94 end in J. We hold no datasheet for the series, so confirm the suffix with Walsin.

Is any of it on your shelf?

No. None of the 866 metal-plate rows appears on our 23 September 2026 Hong Kong snapshot, which is dated and not live. You can request a quote through the site.

Do you ship to Namibia or state its import rules?

We ship from Hong Kong and state no duty, customs, certification or transit information for Namibia. We hold no office or stock there and give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.
