Solar Inverter Monitoring Electronics for Sri Lanka from Hong Kong: 25 of 44 Walsin Antenna Rows Cover 2.4 GHz in 9 Spellings and an Exact-Match Filter Finds 10

Solar inverter monitoring electronics for Sri Lanka need an antenna that a bill of materials can find. We parsed all 44 rows of the Walsin Technology (Walsin) antenna export: 25 cover 2.4 GHz, written in 9 different ways. A filter on the most common spelling, 2.4~2.5 GHz, returns 10 of the 25 and misses the other 15.

Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin antenna export (Walsin_Antenna_ALL.xlsx, 44 rows) and a stock list dated 23 September 2026. This post is for a product or sourcing engineer at a Sri Lankan solar installer, inverter integrator or industrial site who needs a wireless link on a monitoring or data-logger board. Every part number is real, every count is ours, and every news statement names its source and the day we fetched it, 23 October 2026.

What did Sri Lanka decide on rooftop solar agreements in September 2026?

A change of scheme, contested within days. Daily FT reported on 25 September 2026 that an Energy Ministry directive dated 11 September 2026 requires all new rooftop solar agreements and extensions to use the Net Plus scheme, in which the owner sells all output at a fixed tariff, caps agreements at 12 years, and removes net metering and net accounting; the National Chamber of Commerce wrote to the President on 23 September asking for it to be withdrawn.

The same report puts connected rooftop capacity at about 2,600 MW, says more than 800 companies and over 20,000 people work in the industry, and quotes the Chamber’s estimate of fuel import savings of about 245 billion rupees a year. A Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka analysis dated December 2025 gives 2,090 MW and 129,302 connections at the end of September 2025, and says that after the February 2025 blackout utilities required low-voltage and frequency ride-through capability, which fewer than half of the installed rooftop capacity had adopted.

Our view, labelled as ours: when grid rules change and installed inverters need updated settings, a site that can be reached over a radio link is cheaper to keep compliant than one that needs a visit, so the monitoring antenna is a real bill of materials line. We have no relationship with any Sri Lankan installer, utility or regulator.

How many Walsin antennas cover 2.4 GHz, and which parts cross a chip antenna brief?

Twenty-five of 44, spelled nine ways. We parsed all 44 antenna rows. 25 list 2.4 GHz in the Working Frequency Range column in 9 distinct spellings, for example 2.4~2.5 GHz (10 rows), 2.4 ~ 2.5 GHz (5), 2.4 GHz (2) and 2.4 / 5.x GHz (1); a filter on the first spelling returns 10 of the 25. We have not seen this counted anywhere.

Two of the spellings pack two bands into one cell, separated by a run of spaces. The 25 rows are 12 chip antennas, 5 PCB antennas, 4 cable dipoles, 2 connector-type dipoles and 2 flexible-circuit antennas. Our post on choosing a 2.4 GHz chip antenna covers the method. Take a brief of a chip antenna, 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, about 3.2 mm by 1.6 mm, 2 dBi, VSWR 2.0 maximum.

Walsin part Type, size, gain, VSWR On shelf 23 Sep 2026 Match / mismatch with the brief Your incumbent

The export does not say how the antenna should be matched on a board, and we hold no antenna datasheet; link only to Walsin’s own site and confirm every specification there. Confirm against both datasheets and qualify in your own enclosure.

What does a Hong Kong shelf hold for an inverter monitoring radio?

None of the 44. Our stock list as at 23 September 2026 holds 1,125 distinct codes and matches 0 of the 44 antenna part numbers; the antenna, connector and cable lines are quote-only.

The ready stock list is a dated snapshot and is never live-synced, and a quote is requested through the site. Our post on Walsin passive components in Hong Kong stock explains how to read the list, and the RF range lists the families. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request.

What will we not tell you about antennas and radio rules?

Anything about whether a radio may be sold or used in Sri Lanka. We make no claim about radio approval or spectrum rules in any country, we hold 0 antenna datasheets among the 28 datasheets we hold, and the export fills only a handful of fields per row.

We hold no office, entity or stock in Sri Lanka; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We give no legal, customs or conformity advice. Confirm with your compliance team. Qualification stays with you.

How Venatech helps: what can you do with a radio line today?

Paste your incumbent into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts, and read the Walsin candidates with each field marked match or mismatch. Load the whole monitoring board into the BOM check, up to 500 part numbers or an Excel or CSV file. The ready-stock list is a Hong Kong snapshot dated 23 September 2026.

Worked example from our own export: the 2.4 GHz filter above returned 25 antenna rows in 9 spellings, 12 of them chip antennas in 8 footprints, and our shelf holds none. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We serve from Hong Kong in small lots, and a quote is requested through the site.

The short version

For a Sri Lankan monitoring board, the antenna search fails on spelling before it fails on specification: 25 of 44 rows cover 2.4 GHz, 10 match the common spelling, and 0 are on our shelf.

Send us the radio line from one monitoring board and we will return the Walsin candidates with the differences stated. When your BOM filter says 2.4 GHz, how many spellings is it missing?

Frequently asked questions

What did Sri Lanka’s Energy Ministry direct on rooftop solar in September 2026?

Daily FT reported on 25 September 2026 a directive dated 11 September requiring new rooftop agreements and extensions to use Net Plus, with a 12-year cap, and ending net metering and net accounting. The Chamber of Commerce asked for it to be withdrawn. Confirm the status with your advisers.

How much rooftop solar was connected in Sri Lanka?

The Public Utilities Commission analysis dated December 2025 gives 2,090 MW and 129,302 connections at the end of September 2025. Daily FT cited about 2,600 MW on 25 September 2026. These are the sources’ figures, not ours.

How many Walsin antenna rows cover 2.4 GHz?

We parsed all 44 rows. 25 cover 2.4 GHz and write it in 9 different spellings. The commonest, 2.4~2.5 GHz, appears on 10 rows, so a filter on that exact text misses 15 of the 25. Normalise the column before you filter.

Which Walsin chip antenna crosses a 3.2 by 1.6 mm, 2 dBi, VSWR 2.0 brief?

RFANT3216120A1T matches on band, footprint, gain and VSWR. RFECA3216060A1T has a VSWR of 2.1 and a thinner body. Neither is on our shelf as at 23 September 2026. We hold no antenna datasheet, so confirm every figure on Walsin’s own site.
