A Mozambican current-sense resistor cross-reference goes wrong when the buyer treats Walsin’s “Reverse” low-ohm series as the standard one. We counted 256 reverse rows: 114 part numbers share size, value and tolerance with a standard power low-ohm row, but only 26 pairs share the rated power. None is on our shelf.
Venatech Limited, an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, holds the Walsin Technology (Walsin) chip resistor parametric exports: 137 files, 234,815 rows, 234,401 distinct part numbers. This post is for a buyer or design engineer at a Mozambican solar-controller, battery-charger or metering maker who has a shunt resistor on the bill of materials and wants Walsin candidates with every difference stated. Every Walsin part number below is real and every count is ours. Where it states a development, it names the source and the day we fetched it (2 November 2026).
What did Mozambique’s central bank report that touches an equipment maker?
Slow growth and falling inflation. The Banco de Moçambique homepage, fetched on 2 November 2026, reports economic activity up 1.7 percent in the second quarter of 2026 and annual inflation easing to 6.31 percent in September, with the monetary policy committee holding the policy rate at 9.25 percent in a decision linked on 30 September 2026. The same page lists the banks’ association setting the November 2026 prime rate at 15.50 percent, unchanged.
The page does not mention electronics, solar equipment or any component, and we draw no conclusion about any Mozambican company. We have no relationship with the bank.

What is Walsin’s reverse low-ohm series, and how big is it?
A small, regular family. Walsin’s export holds 256 rows in the Thick Film Power Low ohm Current Sense Chip Resistor (Reverse) series, at five sizes from 0201 to 1206, with 33 resistance values from 0.010 to 0.100 ohm, 141 rows at plus or minus 5 percent and 115 at plus or minus 1 percent. Every plus or minus 1 percent row has a plus or minus 5 percent twin on size, value, TCR and power: 115 of 115.
Two facts are ours. The 26 rows at 0201 appear in no other Walsin low-ohm series: across every current-sense and low-ohm group, 0201 exists only here. And the TCR column holds four different windows, not one: 80 rows at 100 ppm or better, 52 at 150 ppm or better, and two one-sided windows, 0 to plus 250 ppm (52 rows) and 0 to plus 350 ppm (72 rows). All 256 part numbers carry CR in positions five and six and none contains a space, whereas 576 of the 2,169 standard power low-ohm part numbers do.
How does the reverse series compare with the standard power low-ohm series?
Mostly it does not. Of the 256 reverse rows, 114 part numbers share size, value and tolerance with at least one row of the 2,169-row standard power low-ohm series (126 pairs); only 26 of those pairs share the rated power and only 20 share the TCR. The standard series has eight sizes, from 0402 to 2512, including 0815, 1210 and 2512 that the reverse series lacks.
| Reverse part | Standard row, same size, value, tolerance | Match / mismatch | Your incumbent |
|---|---|---|---|
WW06CR050FTL, 0603, 0.050 ohm, 1%, 1/4 W, 0 to plus 250 ppm |
WW06WR050FTL DK, 1/4 W, 400 ppm or better |
Match on size, value, tolerance, power; mismatch on TCR window and the space in the number; neither on the shelf | |
WW08CR050FTL, 0805, 0.050 ohm, 1%, 1/3 W, 100 ppm |
WW08WR050FTL FL, 1/2 W, 200 ppm |
Match on size, value, tolerance; mismatch on power (1/3 vs 1/2 W) and TCR | |
WW12CR030FTL, 1206, 0.030 ohm, 1%, 1/2 W, 0 to plus 250 ppm |
WW12WR030FTL GJ, 3/4 W, 600 ppm or better |
Match on size, value, tolerance; mismatch on power and TCR | |
WW12CR100FTL, 1206, 0.100 ohm, 1%, 1/2 W, 100 ppm |
WW12PR100FTL, 1/2 W, 150 ppm |
Match on size, value, tolerance and power; mismatch on TCR (150 vs 100 ppm) | |
WW04CR025FTL, 0402, 0.025 ohm, 1%, 1/8 W, 0 to plus 350 ppm |
none | Mismatch: the standard 0402 rows start at 0.100 ohm | |
WW02CR020JAL, 0201, 0.020 ohm, 5%, 1/10 W |
none | Mismatch: no 0201 anywhere else in Walsin low-ohm |
The one clean match in the table is WW12CR100FTL against WW12PR100FTL, and even that one trades 50 ppm. Neither the reverse series nor the standard one is on our shelf: 0 of 256 and 0 of 2,169 as at 23 September 2026.
How should a shunt be checked against the power rating?
With the current, not the watt. A shunt dissipates current squared times resistance, so a 0.050 ohm part at 1/4 W allows about 2.2 A and at 1/3 W about 2.6 A before derating, and a rating that differs by one step moves that limit by roughly 15 percent. Those are our arithmetic from the printed power, not a Walsin figure, and they ignore ambient and board layout.
That is why the mismatch column in the table matters: a reverse part that is 1/3 W where your incumbent is 1/2 W is a different current limit, not a rounding.
Why do buyers in Mozambique choose Venatech?
Buyers in Mozambique can use Venatech for concrete reasons. We are an authorised Walsin distributor in Hong Kong, so a current-sense line is crossed to a manufacturer’s own catalogue, not to a trader’s guess. The VenaMatch tool decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers and covers 800,000+ crossable parts, and it prints match and mismatch for every field, which is what the table above shows. We work in small lots, so a pilot run of a metering board is a normal order.
The range is wide where it counts for shunts: Walsin lists current-sense and low-ohm resistors in 11 series, 11,760 rows and 15 size codes from 0201 to 2512 (counted by us from the chip resistor export). We tell you plainly what we do not hold: for this reverse series that is the datasheet.
What will we not tell you about Mozambique?
Anything about Mozambique’s customs, certification or procurement rules. We hold no office, entity or stock in Mozambique; our locations are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore and Jiangmen, with Chengdu in preparation. We state no duty rate, transit time, carrier or conformity requirement, and we give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.
How Venatech helps
Paste the incumbent shunt number into the free cross-reference tool, which decodes 18 manufacturers’ part numbers across 800,000+ crossable parts and lists Walsin candidates with match and mismatch fields, or upload the list to the BOM checker, up to 500 part numbers. The Hong Kong ready-stock list is a dated snapshot, 23 September 2026, never live-synced. Worked example from our exports: for a 0.050 ohm 0603 1 percent shunt at 1/4 W, VenaMatch returns WW06CR050FTL and WW06WR050FTL DK and states the TCR difference. Walsin is the only line we are authorised for; Stackpole and Viking are lines we supply. We work from Hong Kong, in small lots, and you can request a quote through the site. We offer lot and date-code traceability and a certificate of conformity per shipment on request. We hold neither ISO 9001 nor IATF 16949. Qualification stays with you. The chip resistor range lists the families, our post on low-ohm current-sense thick film versus metal explains the construction, and power rating by case size covers the watt steps.
The short version
Treat “Reverse” as its own family. 114 of 256 reverse part numbers share size, value and tolerance with a standard power row, 26 share the rated power, and 0201 exists only in the reverse series.
Send us one shunt resistor line from your bill of materials and we will return the Walsin parts with every difference stated. What is your maximum continuous current, and at what ambient?

Frequently asked questions
What did Mozambique’s central bank report in late 2026?
Its homepage reports activity up 1.7 percent in the second quarter of 2026, annual inflation of 6.31 percent in September, a policy rate held at 9.25 percent and a November 2026 prime rate of 15.50 percent. It says nothing about electronics.
How many parts are in Walsin’s reverse low-ohm series?
256 rows at five sizes from 0201 to 1206, from 0.010 to 0.100 ohm, with 141 rows at plus or minus 5 percent and 115 at plus or minus 1 percent. We counted them in the 234,815-row Walsin chip resistor export.
Is the reverse series interchangeable with the standard power low-ohm series?
No. 114 reverse part numbers share size, value and tolerance with a standard row, but only 26 pairs share rated power and 20 share TCR. Compare field by field and confirm against both datasheets before you substitute.
What does reverse mean in the Walsin name?
The export does not say, and we hold no datasheet for the series. A reverse-terminal geometry is a common meaning, but you should confirm the terminal layout with Walsin before designing a footprint.
Is any of it on your shelf?
No. 0 of the 256 reverse rows and 0 of the 2,169 standard power low-ohm rows appear on our 23 September 2026 Hong Kong snapshot, which is dated and not live. You can request a quote through the site.
Do you ship to Mozambique or state its import rules?
We ship from Hong Kong and state no duty, customs, certification or transit information for Mozambique. We hold no office or stock there and give no legal or customs advice; confirm with your compliance team.
